In my opinion I'd buy 10 knock off clones before I'd pay 200$ for a pocket knife...that's just crazy...the manufacturer's are to full of themselves I wouldn't even take one if they give it to me...the knock off are perfect...if you lose it or it gets stolen you aren't out much...besides it's just a pocket knife...they should be charging a cheaper price....maybe around 75 or under I'd consider it as it is no way...not happening.
I have a real one and bought a clone because the price was crazy and its very very good for the price look just about the same the only giveaway is when its closed the logo sit halfway in my real one doesnt but not 100% sure
Surprised you didn't put a little RED Loctite on the end of the screws. I do it on all knives i disassemble. DON'T use the Blue. I bought a very well made mini bugout imposter at the local gunshow. In the back of my head i knew the price was too good to be true. So i took it over to a couple who sold Real Benchmade knives and had them check it out. Said it was built very well. Was th Carbon Fiber one the carbon fiber is on the inside also. Whether its real i don't know. You can't squeeze the scales together. For me, it was the pockt clip and being able to access the screw just above the clip. And the trademark "R".if they made the clones with good steel ( s90v) they would put Benchmade out of business. $ 288.00 for a real carbon fiber mini bugout is ABSURD. Benchmade is off the chain on their prices. Thanks for your video Brother.
The knives cost a fortune and the consumer still has to center the blade? Dumb consumers 🤣🤣🤣
I order the same one but with MagnaCut blade. Can’t wait to see it!!! God bless you
Easily one of the most biased reviews
thanks for the informative video. I hate when people don't show the other side of the knife, just the show side
Скажите , где купить этого красавца ???
That background music sounds like a really cool version of camouflage, also thanks for the tip, it did work
Ok ok. If you do a few things you to your clone you can get rid of the majority of your issues. 1) put some locktite on the screws 2) replace the swivel screw with a t10 screw 3) purchase new scales $20-40 A quick amazon search on these items for a grand total of $41. I’ll give you the matte black finish is kinda ugly. I’m not a fan of a serated edge on a knife. Furthermore who cares what kind of steel a knife blade has, almost every human male on the planet doesn’t know how to sharpen them anyways. I hope you help your buddy improve his clone instead of just shitting all over his purchase, which from your statement early in the video you said he was very happy to get his hands on one. And for goodness sakes sharpen that knife when it comes out of the box. You kids today think brand new knifes are sharp. 😂
No you know what's unfair is people charging The working Man $400 for a 3-inch pocket knife
Counterfeits not clones if they being sold as actual Benchmades! A clone would not be marked as actual Benchmade product and the perpetrators are criminals! Knowingly selling a counterfeit product is also a Federal offense. Let's get the terminology right. Nice video! 👍
Fails to mention the massive tool mark on the racasso that Benchmade would not have put on a blade.
A plastic pencil eraser works great. Same as Trend recommends for their diamond plates. I also use their diamond lapping fluid on my WE. Increases your stone life and prevents rust damage that you’ll get using water (and prevents dust)
Why do people have to be dishonest and evil, I hate people that’s why I have dogs…
Too bad it doesn't have a Blackwash finish on the blade!
This video’s 2 years old and so out of date now. Bought a clone for £20 from Aliexpress before Xmas and everything, the box, the knife play, everything is the same as the genuine one shown in this video.
Store name?
@@koningklootzak7788 search for 535 and take your pick ;)
This was posted 2 years ago and still helping people. My para 3 is looking great. Put new scales and ended up off center. Thanks for the video.
I'm glad it helped you. Thank you for the feedback.
Where did you get the OD green version?
Wow ... with the ultrasonic you can definitely tell which areas of the stones you work the most. Good information, thanks.
I bought a clone on Aliexpress. they have improved a lot. There are versions with ball bearing now, for 30 dollars
Can you tell me the store name on AliExpress?
the brand is JUFULO, there are several stores that sell
It happens when benchmade take over 290 dollars here in eroupe for a knife that is half plastic.
When you spend $200 for a folding knife, you should not have to fiddle with blade centering. One of the biggest failings of Spyderco.
I will not disagree with you
Any knife can go off center
My first two Spyderco knives, a Military 2 and Manix XL "CruCarta", came absolutely perfect but my new YoJumbo is just a hot mess. Came with the blade off center, pivot too tight and some of the screws loose. This trick didn't help with getting it centered and the pivot doesn't seem to provide for a "sweet spot" where the knife opens and closes as nicely as the other two and doesn't also have side to side blade play. The pivot screws also come loose after 10 or so open and closes. It's not the kind of stuff one would expect from a $200 US made knife. :(
I just bought a real one, I've had multiple clones and they were serviceable. The handle flex & bubble wrap were the only definite way to tell but there are new clones that address this benchmade needs better counterfeit measures such as QR codes etc
Good stuff man. How can i stop my PM2 from having lock stick!?!? 😩🤦🏼♂️
No offence by why should knife makers get this stupid law were china who builds cheaper and in most times better versions.people who make fishing lures this happens cars etcetera. I personally buy one real one for display and a clone to use and 98 percent of the time except microtech i prefer the clone.sorry my money is mine
That's a really bad clone. The good clones don't have different sized screws or anything that obvious of a flaw
Lynch Northwest makes a nice looking and well-reviewed Ti clip, but it's $88. I have one on order for my Drunken!
My clone is nicer then my legit Benchmade. 😢. The one i got has none of those distinguishing differences. Visually it's identical to my real one. Even the blade coating is identical. It also came out of the box hair popping sharp, centered, and smooth as butter in the action. It's utterly insane, I paid 6 bucks for the stupid thing plus 6 for shipping. If you threw it in a pile of 10 legit Benchmades I'm not sure I could pick it back out. I've seen some wonky Benchmades right outta the box at stores with more QC issues then this clone. Mine even came with a perfect rellica of the Benchmade baggie in the box. Stretchy, soft, perfect match to my others that they return my Lifesharps in.
Do you really think that they would be able to offer you a good piece of steel for $6 ?
Guess I've been doing it right. Had the same issue on my PM2 as well. Good video. Thanks
Thank you so much!
I just don't understand why someone would knowingly buy a clone. Supporting ripping off an American company plays right into the hands of the Chinese government, and as a matter of fact, buying any Chinese made knife is directly supporting the Chinese government and military. If you have the option, buy American products. If you can't afford to, go without.
I cant understand why anyone would buy one either. Make no sense to me. Thanks for your comment.
I enjoy my 2 clones better than my real 535. The main reason is that I am not afraid to give the clones a real beating. I paid $2.90 + $5 shipping on Wish. My clones have zero blade play, are centered perfectly, flick open great and close under gravity. Obviously some kinda weird steel, but seems to hold a good edge. Absolutely amazeballs.
Glad you found something that you like. Clones are just not for me though. Thanks for commenting.
Great music.
Thankyou
Good video learned alot, also don't know if u knoticed or not but the Axis Locks are different could have it backwards but the real one it's towards the front and clone it's towards the middle
Thank you !
Classiest knife videos on the internet. By far.
Thank you very much! I am happy you enjoy it.
Thanks a lot. Useful review for those who is about to own BM bgt
Thank you for watching
I'd recommend using a basket in the US cleaner to keep the stones off the bottom of the cleaner. Resting on the bottom may damage your cleaner over time.
That's great advice!
This isn't true. The Benchmade website allows you to build the whole knife from the studs , thumb stud, blade color, designs etc. Ordered 4 from the website and they came with the sticker box,bag ,stickers as they are axis model bugouts and there is was no cutout. Been ordering from them for awhile
Interesting. Every true Benchmade I have purchased has had a cutout.
I just bought this knife. I am very impressed it’s a beast and a beauty at the same time. Action and acoustics very very satisfying. This large size is kind of perfect for a Sheepdog knife
Yes!
Dwie tandety...
Buy a hogue deka 😂😂😂
I need to. I do not own one of those yet. Thanks for the comment.
THREE MINUTES INTO VIDEO, time wasted, before you actually start to talk about the knife. I haven’t got all day. Sorry, man, I shut your video off. UPDATE: I came back, watched the whole video and ordered a Civivi Odium knife.
Thanks for giving it a try. Have a great day.
most do the same thing, deal with it
I have one 2 and its super nice 😍
Yes! thank you for commenting!
blade coating/finish looks way different as well.
yes, I would agree.
And what is the trick if your pivot screw does not move at all ? (The side with the pocket clip) Its a new Para 3 Maxamet....so shouldnt have red loctite. Soldering Iron doesnt work.....any tipps?
To be honest, I haven't ran into that before. Sorry to hear your having trouble. I wish you the best of luck.
Let me guess. The clone omega springs last longer than the 6 weeks true Benchemade springs last. Total trash.
I will not disagree that there are some issues with the omega springs, but I personally do not think that has any bearing on whether or not to support a counterfeit. Thanks for your comment
I bet your buddy was heartbroken
oh yes, definitely
Super merci beaucoup, ma lame est enfin centrée.
Thank you for your comment. I am glad it helped resolve your issue. Thanks for watching!
the clone will have a reasonable price ! it is just as good as the so called real one ! both are built by Chinese cnc machines ( yes the so called real one is made by a Chinese cnc machine !) m390 is re named and lie hyped D2 ! and the rubber handle is total crap rip off !
The term "reasonable" is subjective. For example, you may feel that it is reasonable, but the designer and maker who poured tons of money in R&D would probably disagree. Just my opinion. Thanks for the comment.
Have the same exact model. Love OD green! Wish the liners and lock were DLC coated too.
That would be nice!
