Draping 12v wires over a plastic gas tank is a recipe for disaster. I've seen them short out and go molten like a dynamite fuse. It'll melt through the tank and blow UTFU. The seat clamps are redundant if they need screws to hold them on. Screw the swivels to the seats directly. The air horn needs to be assembled and stored next to the helm for immediate use. No good to you in a tackle box if you're about to be run down. Same with the fire extinguisher. The unsealed cheap plywood outboard pad isn't doing much and will turn to mush in a couple years. Mushroom anchors are not capable of securing a boat. They're for lunch breaks and drift fishing. Those are not "oars"; they are shitty little paddles. You need oars, a proper anchor, spark plug wrench, hand held and aerial flares, bailing bucket, sponge, a decent First Aid kit, waterproof flashlight, some tape to patch a hole and a boathook, for starters. Otherwise, you're looking pretty good.

Im copying this build 😂 im 20 years old and just got me a bass boat of my own. And no such thing as overkill when it comes to survival & a safety. "Better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it"

For those of you asking, the idle adjustment knob simply controls how fast the motor idles when at the lowest speed setting. Some people prefer to turn up the idle speed or slow it down when trolling. Ironically, it’s meant to be used while in gear.

I have the same unit with 130 hours on it which I picked up used for $3500 Canadian. I power the home through the Generlink switch which gives me complete home backup when needed. I agree the unit is expensive but it's well worth it when the power goes out. Best way to look at it is like you are buying insurance but at the same time you are getting something superb for your money along with that "insurance" . This unit has more than enough power for a small home including the air conditioning and all other circuits combined. The only thing I wouldn't power up along with other things is the gas clothes dryer which takes over 4850 watts of power. I have seen videos stress testing this unit and it will run for some time at 6500 watts and only goes into overload at 7200 watts. Best not to stress the unit at these power levels but I do think Honda under rates their units. I ran this unit recently when we had a major power outage (first in 30 years) and it used about a litre an hour of gas. So it was quite inexpensive to run as well.

BTW, I also have a 10 outlet 110 volt Reliance switch installed in my home and only bought the expensive Generlink because I found it a nuisance to be using extension cords to reach into areas of the home where there were outlets that didn't get powered on the Reliance switch. However if you can stand only this limited number of powered circuits in your home, this is a much less expensive option to consider. Plus there are many good generator units on the market which will do the job effectively (although none to my knowledge are as quiet as the Honda). At the time, I paid about $500 on Amazon for it and installed it myself, so much cheaper than the Generlink that came to $2500 Canadian after installation by the dealer (including being screwed by Ottawa Hydro for a useless permit for $400....they didn't do a damn thing and the selling dealer did it all). This unit is pretty much the same as the EU7000 but has no fuel injection so VITAL to drain the carb after each use (easy with drain hose built in) plus always keep Stabil in the gas when storing fuel.

Hey Dan, I know this is an old post, but do you have any manufacture information on this 12ft Sea King? Several manufactures produce for Sea King. I’m trying to help someone identify a similar boat. Do you have a title, or spec plate, or any stamped numbers on the boat?

Nearly 39 million hunting licenses sold in the U.S. in 2021 It is difficult to overstate the importance of this revenue to wildlife management. The American hunter has been a vital component of our nation's incredible legacy of conservation success. All-together, hunters pay more than $1.6 billion a year for conservation programs. No one gives more than hunters! Every single day U.S. sportsmen contribute $8 million to conservation. Illegal

We have used the kzread.infoUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Impressive that something so small would have an electric start. I remember there was a time in which only an Onan (prior to the Cummins/Onan merge) of similar wattage had this feature.
