  I was disappointed with this album when it was released. Love it now and this track always stood out as a banger for me. But in saying that and as much as i love Swansong now, its still they're weakest release 🤘

  История Death Metal. Итальянский легион. Sadist - 1997 - Crust - Displeased Records Третий по счету альбом итальянских прогрессивных дэтстеров. Начиная с обложки, он заставляет насторожиться. И не зря. Странные цвета, компьютерная графика, все это не то что бы напрягало, но некоторые сомнения закрались)) (Какие сомнения, раньше говорили: наливай да пей)) ). А так смотрите: первый альбом записали втроем, второй - Tommy Talamanca оставил ударника и принял двух новых музыкантов. Третий диск - Tommy Talamanca и три новых человека. Так что, исходя уже чисто из практики, трудно ожидать похожих друг на друга альбомов. Да их и никто не ожидал. Progressive Death Metal от Садиста на этом альбоме приобрел ужасающую БЕСчеловеческую индустриальную составляющую, весомую в общем миксе. Составляющую, которая обращает на себя внимание. Еще что привлекает, так это синтетические партии клавишей - Томми сам их и сыграл. Talamanca так же ваяет на гитаре, его специфическое дэтово-джазовое исполнение легко идентифицируются подготовленным слушателем. И мощнейшее струнное техно-макаберное, иногда техно-оперное даже, представление продолжает поражать слушателей. Тревора Надира как-то уговорили спеть на этом альбоме. Ну, он подумал: тогда держитесь. И надо. Профи видно (слышно) издалека. У него сильный вокал с феерической вариативностью (для дэта). От монструозного харша и гроулинга до чистых партий с психопатическими переходами в сумасшедший дом. Это очень железный диск, и каждая песня наполнена технологическим металлоломом по самые края и выше. Вот что сказал Томми в ответ на один из моих вопросов в интервью: «Главное создать правильную атмосферу, техника игры на инструменте - только средство, а не цель». По первоначалу группа встречает жестким звенящим звуком, который возможно придется не по нраву некоторым металлистам. И в самом деле, скажу так: возможно звук этого альбома нужно будет подрабатывать эквалайзером - для более комфортного прослушивания. НО... Если отметить, что комфорт и Death Metal - это бессмысленное сочетание, то тогда этот металлический альбом нужно воздвигать на пьедестал. Тут уже пора сказать, что такую Технически Сложную музыку нужно слушать как минимум на средней аппаратуре. Иначе - все в труху, а уши в трубку. И еще - увидел ряд откликов в сети, в которых альбом обвинили в «грязном звуке». Могу с уверенностью (95%) сказать, что у этих слушателей «грязный тракт», то есть что-то не в порядке с воспроизведением, усилением или колонками. Или просто некачественная запись в низком битрейте. Последнее - весьма вероятно, ибо в шквалистом диске Садиста очень сложные взаимоотношения разных слоев музыкального стального пирога. Все здесь очень непросто, и каждый, кто брался за инструмент - настоящий специалист в своей области. Включая того же Harry Wijering, который занимался инжинирингом и продюсированием диска. Ранее он работал с Asphyx, Cirith Gorgor, Soulburn... и с парой-тройкой десятков металлических групп. В юбилейном переиздании 2007 года имеются подарки для фэнов - Take on Me (A-ha cover), Relax (Frankie Goes to Hollywood cover). В оправдание Садистов скажу: надеюсь, что обе группы никогда не слушали эти эксперименты, особенно, если у них слабое сердце или еще что-то... kzread.info/dash/bejne/aXiqzduBiZnLkbQ.html
