Thank you for posting this video. Really appreciate the straightforward way you explain things and don't try to talk over people's heads. Used this method today on my new rifle and I was sighted in for 200 yards with ease. Thanks!!

Great idea! Also, try using the same Dutch oven to brown the meat in. Losing lots of flavor left in that pan.

Something to consider is that food isn’t just fuel. It’s a reward at the end of the day or hard trek, it’s a morale booster, or it can be a morale killer. I remember listening to the Born & Raised boys discussing hunting with a guy who treated his meals as purely fuel. Essentially he cut out everything and just took a shake blender into the backcountry. His mix had everything he needed fuel metric wise as his philosophy was it’s just fuel, it doesn’t have to be appetizing or tasty. This also cut down on his pack weight because he no longer needed a stove. They said by day 4 he would be staring at the BoR boys like he was going to steal their mountain house B&G. Point is, there’s a reason why the military has spent millions, if not billions, of dollars to attempt to make field food both nutritious and somewhat tasty. Because on day 12 of eating the same slop, even if it’s your favorite, more than likely you’re gonna eat less of it. And if you’re wasting food then you are less effective.

Just an update. We had Genes celebration of life two months ago. Wow the people that came forward to tell there crazy fun loving stories about Gene were amazing. One that sticks out, he was stuck on the side of a cliff and my grandpa. His brother Alvin came to rescue him too much to put in a comment man. Oh man Gene was one tough guy.🙏🇺🇸🦅

I just spoke to a realtor there and they say getting tags in Nevada is very difficult if you are a local, because of all of the out-of-state hunters. Ridiculous.

Carbs aren't necessary at all to survive. If you're in ketosis, adding alot of carbs a day negates the benefit of burning fat instead of sugar. I guess we wouldn't be talking about your average hunter though so I get it but carbs aren't the cure for nutrition. Electrolytes on the other hand are critical and with added calories is a real benefit, products like BPN salted watermelon work wonders when exertion is high. Thanks for the info and great calorie calculator that will be a game changer for many people.
