Since 2007, the Eagle Club has been running live web-cameras on the nests of protected bird species - black stork, white-tailed eagle, greater and lesser spotted eagles, osprey and golden eagle.

What do humans do when they can't cope/afford to feed a baby? Give them up for adoption. That's the nearest thing we have for this situation. Animals can't do that. Nature takes care of itself in whatever way it can, may seem brutal but it is purely about survival.

It's rough to watch, but we cannot assign human morality to animals. They are living by their own codes and standards and probably would think we were foolish for keeping our deformed or intellectually damaged babies alive were our situations reversed.
I was trying to find when they were named and if they have been at this nest before this year?
People are acting like this mothers instincts being the "end all be all", is weird to me. It comes across as some of you don't see any mistakes in it, which is simply wrong, because nothing is ever perfect. There are animals in enclosures, with every need satisfied to the brink still abandoning their children because of "instict" or what ever you wanna call it. Also some here really acting tough for telling others they can't handle nature. Dude, not liking this at all is a very human thing and we also came out of nature. Nothing wrong with a bit of empathy and sadness here.
We could learn something here.

The egg has past the hatching window by a few days now, so it will not hatch

no! For me it is better that way. There is enough food for them. And I will be happy if all four are growing fast. At the moment it looks good.
