Sorry, the lighting situation in this venue is such that we feel much closer to the audience with just tablets and not big music stands, binders, and stand lights. And we can move around better too.

Atmosphere spoilt by unnecessary and ostentatious recourse to modernism - use of Tablets! Why not printed copies, or even pen-and-ink copies/parts, a practise Byrd would have endorsed?

What a joy to see/hear Cynthia Freivogel again! Cynthia, don't play with anyone. In general, I got the impression that there are no Baroque intrumenalists in the USA.

It's a shame that it can't be translated into another language. A SERIOUS AND IRRESPONSIBLE FAULT! The music is beautiful, but what's the point if you can't get the message? Not everyone speaks the same language that is sung. (This comment was translated from Portuguese).

Excellent thouroughly enjoyable listening! The singers are marvellous & admirably supported by the virtuosity of the instrumental ensemble ( nota bene Cynthia MF 😊 ) .. tho' they ( the singers) albeit excellent , do seem to be curiously dressed like a couple of accountants moonlighting on the way home from the office! After all , be it Bach or Beyonce, public performance is still ⭐ 'showbusiness' !!⭐😊 PS: saved to my Playlists :)

Whilst I'm an ardent admirer of Cynthia MF virtuoso violin , I'm not being moved by the music of Buxtehude ( never heard his (/her?) music before ) It's pleasant enough background dinner party music over a glass or 2 of Chateau Lafite 😋 but nothing remarkable from a plebian ( me) listeners' point of aural cognition 😁

You are indeed a plebeian. J. S. Bach walked 250 miles to hear and learn fron this master. Upon his return he was thrown into jail for having overstayed his visit with Buxtehude. Don't you think he (Bach) knew this would happen?

@@axelpollak1807 Do I give a sh{t? ? Why didnt he just catch a horse & carriage like most of his contemporaries ?😁 - I listen to the music to enjoy & not be distracted from it by being busy disappearing up my own bourgeois academia anus with tales of self-imposed woe & angst the artist suffered for his art , which I readily bore people to sleep with at my Bachian appreciation society meetings on a Thursday evening, because I have no other friends.

@@axelpollak1807 In my experience people either love or hate Phantasticus, and I used to find his organ works disjointed until I learned more or the style. With such a long, prolific and varied career it's not possible, IMO, to generalize, as it is also with Telemann. I do love the trio sonatas as gems that are a blast to play while also being a bit quirky.

I _adore_ the sound at 04:02 with both sustain and "moderator". It sounds like a memory of a piano overheard in another room of an abandoned house.
