Fiber Art!
Come into my crazy world and learn how to Create Textile Art!
Fiber arts encompass a diverse range of creative practices involving textiles, yarn, and other fibers. From weaving and knitting to embroidery and quilting, fiber arts have a rich history dating back thousands of years.
In ancient times, fiber arts were essential for survival, providing clothing, shelter, and even storytelling through intricate patterns and designs.
Throughout history, fiber arts have been deeply intertwined with culture and tradition. In many societies, textile production was a highly esteemed skill passed down through generations, often associated with rituals and ceremonies.
Today, fiber arts continue to evolve as artists explore new techniques and materials. From traditional handcrafts to contemporary fiber installations, artists push the boundaries of what can be achieved with fibers, blending traditional techniques with modern innovation.

ok so basically I have this friend who I recently got their phone number and have been texting but I decided to do a lyric prank on them and then they said that it was stupid which kinda of hurt my feelings because they called me stupid, they have been kind of mean to a lot of people for years but it’s not like that bad, so after they said I was stupid I decided to ghost them because I didn’t want to contact with them if they were gonna be mean, so should I chat with them again?? It’s been about 2-3 months since I last texted her and I don’t know if I should just not talk to her or not, when summer is over I will have to see them again because we have an activity we do together every week so I feel like I should just tell her “yeah sorry for not texting, I’ve been busy.” But idk!!! Also sorry for such a long paragraph!!!

Hey Nic ! your work is amazing ! Do you have any specific tips for ribbon dyeing? Yours are beautiful and I have a hard time not felting my wool during the process. thank you !
@@ilanag9917 my advice would be completely dependent on what kind (material) of ribbon you are dyeing! Silk vs wool vs plant will all get handled differently If you are felting your wool during dyeing there are a lot of steps you can take to avoid. Usually felting happens when you have too much water and agitation. It can also happen easily if you are using a large pot to boil the wool and dye, or if the rinse cycle is too hot or the fiber is allowed to move too much. It can happen when water directly lands on the wool during dyeing I use as little water as possible, heat on the oven and then the stove, and let the water gently fill from underneath in an immersion bath to rinse
@@NicWhiteWool thank you very much for your detailed response !! Indeed, I dye merino wool. Im very curious to know more about heating in the oven first. Maybe in a future video? thanks again !
@@ilanag9917 it’s nothing special! I just use the same buffet pan in this video and blast it at 450, occasionally check the water levels as needed and refill, if there seems to be any residual dye not absorbed after an hour I finish it off simmering on the stove
Such pretty fiber!!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I really love this blend , merino camel llama eri silk because it doesn’t compress during the dyeing process and stays easy to spin!

Cool!!
Thank you very very much!!!
Really nice work. I'm crocheting a shawl in an acrylic yarn but want to use an 'arty-type' yarn for the border to give it that 'unique' look/touch!
There are a lot of synthetic novelty yarns that can add a great border! Try to stay away from something a high wool content if bordering acrylic, wool stretches easily or shrinks and changes shape of the whole piece
These are so beautiful! And thank you for being so detailed!
Thank you so much for admiring my work! You have all of my appreciation!
