That scene is very iconic, scary, and intriguing growing up in the 90s

This is a great film you don't hear about often. Like many of this era, it was way ahead of its time and makes you shudder at where the world is now. I never forgot this particular scene with Donald Sutherland, who would have been in his 30s at this time. RIP Mr. Sutherland.

Ironic that these pretty young women of 1933 are long gone. Obviously a movie made before the Hayes censorship Act came into effect in 1934.

I think this is one of the better fictional portrayals of a demon in Hollywood because of the fact that Azazel actually has a consistent personality throughout the movie across all his possessees. Nowadays it seems like every depiction of a demon is just some creepy or blatantly grotesque monster, but this demon has absolutely no trouble blending in and mingling amongst human beings.

The War for heaven. God cast down Lucifer to rule in Hell and those that sided with him. It was the kindest punishment. God was enraged by those Angels who did not choose a side in the war. Such was God's anger that he cast some of them from Heaven without shape or form to the Earth where they would be blown about on the winds and others he cast down in the form of their sin, gargoyles and such like, and to be this way for all time. These Fallen Angels were so angered at this that they wrought their vengeance on God by corrupting humanity and whispering insanity in our ears. They blamed Lucifer for their punishment and told humanity it was all his fault....but wise people knew the truth. Nomads and Natives would tell strangers and the darkness 'I know what you are !'. The Fallen would pass on by as they had no power over those who knew. Inspired by Paradise Lost by Milton and by the stories of nomads and tribes from around the World.

He said "i do know who you are, azazel" azazel is another name for satan/ the devil. He has many names, this isn't just a movie people. This shit is reality, give your life to jesus christ so azazel and his demons cannot enter you at free will and use you for their mission on this planet.
