Women were healers, potters, forgers, farmers, weavers, and cooks for 10's of thousands of years when they, along with men, built humanity! Patriarchal religions made them sexual property, then yes, the Industrial Revolution took away cottage industries from both men and women.

“That’s private. Ask me about it later, not in front of an audience.” THIS is how we need to help young people, by example. Class act.

Yes. I can accept that the Internet made me more of a “Fungible token.” A brain on a table. Sterile by default. I agree with Mary. It’s a pity I lived in a place and time that made me miss the opportunities to be a mother. I could write a book. And probably should.

That observation about the essence of the young adults’ idea of home on the campus having been influenced by more pervasive experiences of external child care is so profound and accurate! I worked at a university for the police department and saw this development over the ten years that I was there and had many thoughts about “in parentis locus”, and the paradigm of “helicopter parents” and their children who needed to be tended to like “hot house flowers.” It certainly affected the level of trust that people were able to have in themselves, in the idea of personal agency. Things changed to much.

54:15 I'm sorry Nina, you're lovely but you don't know anything about cartoons clearly. Jessica Rabbit is not a rabbit, she's a very sultry sexified cartoon adult woman... who's married to a cartoon rabbit.

Prevention is better than cure, but that old axiom is ignored by societies and channels of debate like this because addressing the real roots of the problem challenge their own vested interests. So they move the problem not to the structure of society and politics but onto specific societal groups. In doing this, they wil probably make the problems worse for 2 reasons: ignorance of the real causes and policies which for their divide our societies. You cannot hide from the truth without paying a high price, either in the short or long term, or both. I believe this society:channel is simply the restating of common right wing views. Just look at the cvs of the people. All highly qualified and employed technocrats. Whether any of them came from ‘ordinary backgrounds’ is immaterial, they speak from the same hymn sheet which led to Brexit and Trump. What’s the answer? Simple, go back to what was deliberately dismantled by the right: move away from technocratic neoliberalism and back to a more democratic pluralist system. The latter got the Uk through 3 world wars and rebuilding after. The correct setup couldn’t achieve anything on a national scale which would require a healthy society with significant goodwill towards people in general and society. No, divide and conquer not only creates a big mostly unmeritocratic divide but it works quite inefficiently overall, eventually degrading quality of life even for the better off, albeit much more marginally than it does for a majority. Political outlooks and philosophy stem largely from a persons cognitive setup not so much their background and history. But the arguments from the right often have some basic logic which gives them wings but on deeper analysis they usually fall apart. That’s why the name ‘common sense society’ is quite appropriate.

When dealing with law and order in the U.K. and America as opposed to China or say Pakistan, there is a big difference. There are many more nationalities and cultures as compared to other countries, whether or not that is better or worse depends upon the different cultures all follow law and order for the greater good.

The problem with leftism is it believes everyone is good (as long as they agree with them) and if you treat them well, they will reciprocate. This was Corbyn’s view of the world. Sadly for these people reality will always hit them like a freight train the to face. Sadly, too many Jews think this way, despite all evidence to the contrary. Radical leftism polarised Israel just as it is in the west, and just as the west in now weak, Israel was weak on oct 7th. May Israel and the west learn from this. Don’t live in a utopian dreamland, live in reality.

This was an immensely powerful and affecting broadcast. It was perfectly chaired by Emma Webb. I salute her for putting together such an interesting panel of speakers. Fanni was particularly powerful. She was able to personalise this appalling event in the most direct and quietly emotional way. I wish that more people in the UK could hear her story and perspective. Particularly heartbreaking was the betrayal of people whom she believed to be her friends in Hamburg. Emma Webb is immensely talented. I hope that this is the first of many such broadcasts.
