  Thank you for this. My 10th great grandfather was Capt Robert Adams who sailed with Capt Gabriel Archer ( on the Blessing in 1609). And brought tabacco samples back to England aboard the Elizabeth grown by John Rolfe. I also saw that someone commented above they were a descendent of a Farrar. The Adams and Farrar families intermarried later on.

  I expect they were initially rescued as an orphan pup and deemed non-releasable because they wouldn't have been able to learn essential life skills from their mother - at least, that's what I've gathered from binged the heck out of sea otter vids.

  She wouldn’t survive in the wild by herself. Sea otter pups need to learn survival skills from their moms for them to survive on their own. Obviously being an orphan, she didn’t have her mom to teach her these life skills.

  Great video!! I am a member of the Jamestowne Society as a descendant of William Farrar and Col. Thomas Ligon. Ligon was a distant relative of two of the men buried here, Capt. William West and Sir Ferdinando Wenman/Wainman as the Ligons were also distantly descended from the West family, Lords de la Warr. Very interesting!!
