Rocky was the toughest, strongest, best conditioned fighter in history. His training regimen was legendary. Floyd was an easy fighter to be hit, and had a glass jaw. Marciano would have knocked him out easily in several rounds. Marciano never lost a fight, and would have never lost to Patterson. Never.

The actual fighting in this game is absolutely fuckin pathetic, it's literally like throwing punches in a dream. There's no weight, speed or visceral feel whatsoever, all punches thrown look weak af. Unless they do a complete overhaul from scratch of the combat mechanics then nobody is gonna play this shit. Utter shame because the roster and graphics are great.

They had 4years to atleast get the basics right and that's the FIGHTING PART.. i feel that they put in to much energy far as promoting and getting the latest fighters on the game (which is good) but whats the point of doing all that and bringing in these great fighters but the game is NOT DONE and the punching mechanics is trash 🗑️.. how are u a boxing game and didn't focus on the punches???? 😭

And it's some people out there taking up for this game and being bias.. in my opinion in 12 year old game in fight night champions still blows this game out the water... Only thing it has over fight night is the modern fighters and the things they added far as attributes and career mode other then that it's shitty

Floyd Patterson couldn’t beat Marciano if he had 4 arms

Do the research. Marciano never weighed more that 188-90. I don't think he even ever weighed 190. Patterson about the same. Today, neither would be allowed to fight as heavyweights. You couldn't get tougher than Marciano. Patterson's manager Cus D'amato who would later manage Mike Tyson, apparently didn't want any part of Marciano, and Patterson fought mainly at light heavyweight until Marciano retired. Then moved up to heavy to fight Archie Moore for the vacant title which he won. In my imagination I can imagine Rocky knocking out Patterson, but not the other way round, though Floyd may have dropped Rocky, as Archie Moore and Walcott did. But keeping him down was another matter. Floyd was a great fighter with a vulnerable chin. If an average fighter like Johannsen could flatten him, I'm sure prime Marciano could. But Floyd had youth and speed. very fast hands and combinations. I can imagine him winning on cuts, or maybe on points. Both great warriors. By the way Rocky was 49-0.

Nice that they are starting to include Ali's mannerisms, I hope they add leaning back as a slipping move too. The only issue is there's still no jabbing from range from the CPU, only a step in jab that gets smothered because of boxers being drawn into their opponent when the move is executed. At the moment there's still only one type of CPU fighting and that's in close. It seems like there's a radius where the boxers have been programmed to start throwing punches (in close), anything outside this zone, they can move but cannot throw a punch. They need to incorporate (program )a range where the CPU can throw the jab from, before being drawn into this close quarter fighting zone. This would add to more of a game plan looking fight instead of a in close rock-em sock-em.

Its a bug with the game since the latest update, the count is out of sync with the player. Hopefully wont be too long until they fix it

There needs to be a bit more tussling/movement in the clinches, the fighters are too still. Animations where they're moving more, maybe a few steps backwards whilst there's upper body and head movement would make the clinches look more realistic. Good to see the Dev's are adding the jab into the fights. They just need to jab from outside and mid range more, like early in fights when boxers are feeling each other out, they circle each other relying solely on the jab as a range finder. They should also have a Jab "Trait" for boxers known to use the jab a lot in real life. Boxers like: Holmes, Ali, Robinson, Leonard and Crawford should have a trait like "Blinding Jab" where they have "Effect 1": An increased chance of landing jab from the outside by 50% and "Effect 2" A decrease in the power/cuts of the jab by 50% . That would make the player want to stay on the outside more and rely on the accuracy of that boxers jab not needing to rush in and trade so often which will result in more of a thinking mans outside fighting gameplan and less of a rock-em sock-em. This Trait should be evident and visually noticeable in the AI of the 5 CPU fighters mentioned above. The jab should also stop their opponents forward momentum, knock their opponents head back occasionally if they're stationary, and be a long straight quick landing punch that retracts quickly.

I hope they add a "CPU Fighter Toughness" slider in the offline settings because all the fighters in the game hit the canvas far too easily. Some fighters that were tough in real life, that were in some real wars and stayed on their feet, Just seem to go down so quickly, which makes the game more Arcady and less simulation. This is evident in every CPU vs CPU fight I've seen. For example, Ali went 15 rounds with Frazier (KD15), fought big hitters like: Foreman, Shavers and Liston and his chin held out, but in the game hits the canvas multiple times from a shots from Fury🙄. This needs to be address before official release or the "Traits" will be meaningless.

What’s up man. How do you feel about the A.I, and what are your overall thoughts of the game?

I think the A.I is a lot better than it was, now different fighters actually fight different where as before the latest update all the A.I fought the same. If they fix the bugs, balance the damage out and add dedicated servers then it would be a good base game. Other things they could have added is belts which when won your fighter can been seen wearing, a referee in the ring, let people use the other weight classes for online again instead of restricting everyone and they should fix the ranked leader boards to work correct. On career mode the mini games could be played by the player instead of just simulated. in between rounds they could have a mini game to heal up. Overall I think its decent and worth buying for the price.

@@Browny_ I agree with everything you stated. And I believe they will add those things at full release. And about the mini games, they made a video about 2 years ago explaining an rpg element where you can walk around the gym on their KZread page. Hopefully they’ll still have that. Or, at least have it where you can spar and hit heavy bags at gyms you choose to train out of
