    I feel like Courtney Gripling(played by Liz Georges) and Darren Patterson(played by Kenny Blank) were better friends to Ginger Foutley(played by Melissa Disney) than Dodie Bishop(played by Aspen Miller)was because Courtney Gripling and Darren Patterson were more supportive to Ginger Foutley and understood Ginger Foutley Better than Dodie Bishop was, even though Ginger Foutley and Courtney Gripling didn't see eye to eye in the Episodes Sleep On It, Hello Stranger, Summer of Camp Caprice, and Fast Reputation because Courtney Gripling was complaining in the Episode called Summer of Camp Caprice that aired on Nickelodeon in July 2001.

    I felt the show did an excellent job with the subtext of Ginger's characterization and how her father's relationship with her could have affected her. Her dad's willingness to be unreliable and unavailable for the kids was said to have affected Carl, but the fact that she holds on to friendships because they had been friends since preschool could imply she's afraid of letting go of people who have consistently been there, even if they are not good friends. I had always said I never bought she would be friends with Dodie and Macie or be married to Darren.

    In As Told By Ginger, Dodie Bishop(played by Aspen Miller) and Macie Lightfoot(played by Jackie Harris) were Best friends to Ginger Foutley(played by Melissa Disney) for the most part until Dodie Bishop became the new Morning P.A. Announcer, spread Harmful Gossip about someone else, and revealed Ginger Foutley's Secret in the Episodes from Season 1 of As Told By Ginger, Of Lice and Friends and Cry Wolf. I learned something in the As Told By Ginger Episodes called Of Lice and Friends and Cry Wolf. Talking to your friends about everything doesn't mean you should spread Harmful Gossip about people because Harmful Gossip hurts and damages friendships and other people's reputations. Loyal Friends don't spread Harmful Gossip to damage someone else's reputation. Keeping Secrets of those who trust you is better than revealing other people's secrets, interfering in other people's lives, or sticking your nose in other people's business.

    Thank you for addressing this nasty character from my childhood! I remember absolutely despising Dodie after the lice episode and was so frustrated they stayed friends when the show ended. One of the worst things she did was in the third season. Ginger came back to school still recovering from an appendicitis attack and Dodie either ignored or treated her like dirt while reveling in attention. All because she became a cheerleader.

    Yea the writers wrote them as inseparable. I have a feeling she was going to stay with Jerome but Derwin ruined their romance when him and Jerome got into a fight. Out of her friend group, the only one with potential to be a good person was Zoey only if she got away from the others minus Penny. Zoey’s main problem was giving into peer pressure but she wasn’t as malicious as the others were. Even if she had her moments.

    Courtney was a real one. She never asked Ginger to be other than herself. She invited her to think regardless of how others felt. She defended her against Miranda and Mitzi. She was popular but she was a good friend. Dodi legitimately resented Ginger's success. When Ginger gets the scholarship to boarding school? The way Dodi acted was insane.

    The school didn't give Dodi the list. She went snooping and found it. Honestly the school admin should have gotten involved in that case. Ginger's friendship with Dodi should have been over after the stunt she pulled to break up Darren and Ginger. Then having the nerve to want Ginger to cancel a big party just because Dodi couldn't go. Dodi also has a problem hearing "no".

    It's really funny how perspectives change when you get older. I think Miranda does actually like Courtney but I think miranda likes Courtney more than she likes Miranda. Courtney turned out to be a better friend than Dodie. But we all had a toxic, fake friend like Dodie. I wonder if Dodie was kept around because she was a childhood friend? But she shouldn't have still been shown to be Ginger's friend later on. I hope she just sat in the front spot and claims to be Ginger's best friend.

    I noticed this back then as well. Outta all of them here's how i broke them down from memory. Dijonay: Been phony for years because even Suga Mama told her to drop her. Zoey: Easily swayed by others La' Cienaga: Frenemy, which is sadly the most honest. Sticky: Depends on the episode mostly but he had a crush on her which got erased from the show sadly. Michael: Gay Friend and it was obvious back then too.

    Even as a kid watching these episodes it was always something about Dodie that rubbed me the wrong way then as the series progressed and I saw how she would practically throw you under the bus if it means she’ll be popular even if the person was her own friends and family but I always thought it was good the creators made a character like her to show young audiences at the time that even the people you call your friends can stab you behind your back

  • @Ruesen
    @Ruesen27 күн бұрын

    It wasn't until Dodie tried to break up Ginger and Darren that I actually started hating her. I kept hoping they'd give her an episode to be redeemed or at least let her go full villain, because then she could be interesting. But no, she gets easily forgiven or hand-waves to let her still be considered a token good person. That said, it took me awhile to realize a lot of my childhood friends were... not good friends. One that never was around, one that despite how often we hung out, would turn on me just like dodie would the moment it would benefit her. Kind of glad I don't see them anymore. I just sort of wish the flash forward would not show Dodie being in Ginger's friend group anymore though, or at least, not a BEST friend. Instead, maybe just some flowered from Dodie to Ginger for he reading, showing she didn't show up, but at least had a token of good faith to send her regards. It would givet he proper imagery of a friendship that has soured, but not completely gone which I could accept.

    Been waiting on this one, fire 🔥. Thank you for the knowledge. I have always wondered if you could have a mixture of crime elements in your series such as drugs, extortion, and robberies because most crime dramas focus more on one element and this could be just drugs.

  • @jessicascreenwritingservices

    For screenwriting, definitely get The Hollywood Standard 3rd Edition. That is going to help you with formatting and it will show you the formatting mistakes to avoid. Also, I recommend the book "Bullies, Bastards, Bitches" by Jessica Page Morrell. That will help you write authentic villains. I highly recommend The Screenwriters Bible as well because that literally has everything in it from the business side of screenwriting to the creative side. It has an excellent chapter on how to sell your screenplay as well. 😊
