  This was very interesting thank you. We certainly hear the background noise, but isn't it also true that the Panasonic is much more flattering to the voice? Im no recording engineer but I thought the Rode compressed and a little reedy by comparison.

  @@DreamlineFilms Yes, I'd agree noise is a problem, but the Rode's sound - clean as it may be, isn't appealing. I think that's relevant to the average KZreadr who probably doesn't do much in post production.

  @@StudioWatchwolf you can easily apply EQ to the track, removing the noise is harder and very distracting if not removed. but it's just a simple comparison, draw whatever conclusions you would like based on your needs

  I think the ms2 was set to record in stereo while the rode is a mono microphone and has a much more narrow pattern. Also recording with H4N is a dedicated recorder and has probably better amp. You should have done a comparison in the same condition (both attached to camera) and check that the ms2 is setup with the right pattern(mono or shotgun mode)

  They only had a Sikh wedding meaning the guy converted for her. So this is totally acceptable according to the Sikh religon as both spouses must be SIKH. Their ethnicity doesn’t Matter at all only religion!
