    Great video David, thx. Question: sadly I dont have a jvc projector, however I could get a great out of the box deal on a sony xw-5000es. A luxury problem as it’s also great in certain aspects. Should the HDR tv settings always be put to projector, no matter what projector you are using? Thx again!

    Hi David - I posted a comment elsewhere, you replied to it, and I went in to thank you and edit my post - and accidentally deleted the entire thing. Sorry! I ended up calling pixelgen and will be replacing my 10meter active ruipro cable with a Pixelgen between the projector and Marantz. While I was on the pixelgen site I saw the pxlview processor - currently on back order. I’m looking to improve the picture from my Sony vpl5000es and my budget is limited now, so madvr - reconditioned or otherwise - is sadly out of the question. Do you think that adding the pxlview would be of benefit for picture improvement? If I had it to do over I’d get the jvc z7 I believe - my projector prior to the Sony was the jvc rs4800 ….

    2 years later this is still a "Beta" feature while most crappy Fire TV sticks can do this automatically and reliable. I also can't use this with all streming services because some interrupt playback after triggering the function and exit to the menu or show hdmi/connection issue (probably due to HDCP) - in both cases the framerate will be resettet to the default setting.

  • @DavidSusiloUnscripted
    @DavidSusiloUnscripted6 күн бұрын

    Why do you keep getting HDMI issue? That’s usually cable issue, not media player issue.

  • @DocSommer
    @DocSommer6 күн бұрын

    @@DavidSusiloUnscripted My HDMI cables works fine. The issue is triggered by the refresh rate adjustment. My theory: This feature can cause a new hdmi-handshake since most TVs won't handle a refresh rate change "on the fly" during playback. This handshake is detected by the streaming service and force the playback to stop - perhaps due to HDCP restrictions. Some services sends you back to the menu page and other apps like Amazon Prime consider this behaviour as a "connection error" and prompts a message. If your setup is affected you can reproduce these issues every time and lot's of people are affected or they don' realize the feature isn't working since they might just press play after they ended up in the menu and think they have the right refreh rate enabled. This feature only works if the playback continues after refresh rate change. If that's not the case you just get back to the refresh rate that is choosen in the settings (usually 59,xx/60fps).

    Go with LG. The Samsung Freestyle is somewhat known to be buggy.
