IF HE WOULD HAVE DONE THEM AS SINGLES FIRST , IT WOULD BEEN MORE BLACK AND WHITE ..... PRO TIP !!!!
Best video out there Bob. Its a great way to show that everyone gets frustrated and you just keep working through it.
Love the real world dog training videos.
This vide made me happy as we all have these days lololol
Honestly, some Lone D videos just like this are probably some of the most beneficial to amateurs; let's train this dog and see where we're at. Things go great, great. If they don't, let's downshift and help the dog be successful. It's harder when you're a pro being paid by the month by a client, but days of "WTF dude?" can often turn into latent learning where you let something soak with the dog instead of pushing harder and the dog comes back on the field and goes "Oh you mean like this?" and nails it.
Dog training in a nut shell 😂😂
So glad you posted this! My dog shares the same struggles with T pattern. There are good days and bad days. One question though. Sometimes he won’t go when I give him the initial back command. He will lunge forward but not go. We’ve done regular back to pile and pattern blinds hundreds of times but some days he just won’t do it. Do you have any recommendations for this?
Thank you for posting real stuff! We've all had training days like this and it's important people see that it's normal. Everyone now only posts the good moments
Man I needed to see this !!! Uncle Bob gets nowhere near as frustrated as me.
Good stuff Bob. How do you keep your dogs from shopping with all those bumpers down?
I think this is one of the best videos I've ever seen. This is what most amateur trainers go through. Glad you showed all of this. Most people see the videos where the dogs are seemingly perfect and expect those results out of their own even though they don't have the time that most dogs in videos have in them. Thank you for keeping it real. This video puts it into perspective for us all. Keep up on everything that you do Bob your channel's great content is spot on and you produce really good dogs.
What whistle is that?
Barrows outdoor blue ribbon whistle
It’s nice to see a trainer going through the same things I go through. Can you teach us Patience?? As most dogs want to do what you want them to do but some days they do what they want to do not what you want to do.
Thanks for showing us that training is a process. I learned a lot from this video.
I really appreciate you showing the truth in the video. We are in day 2 of teaching 3-handed casting. Both days were not pretty. Really appreciate your videos!!!!!!!
Another great video from Bob showing how to work through a bad session. That’s why I love this channel. Only Bob can take a video full of mistakes and show you how to simplify and adjust on the fly.
Great video and showing that it's all not cupcakes and ice cream on every session. In my younger years on my first dog I forced every session to be what we set out to do. Much older I now read my pup more and can tell when today isn't going to be a great day and I adjust to her attitude and go a little easier. Then try the same session later in the day or next day and she's a superstar. In the end, thanks for sharing this video. It was great to see the way you adjust to keep building on fundamentals than just up and quit.
Love these kinds of videos where we can see the struggles and how to over come them. Keep em coming
I felt that frustration through the camera. Boy is definitely still learning though.
Ahhh looks like what I’m going through at the moment. Great video as always.
UNCLE BOB , NOW THIS IS A REAL TRAINING SEASON ....THIS IS LEARNING... GREAT VIDEO ....
Appreciate you posting this. Always love your videos
Thank you for posting this!
You prefer the slip lead over a prong? Is that more just cost of the collar or do you have other reasons to prefer the slip?
I chuckled cuz my dog is doing same thing. Thank you for allowing us to see this. And to see those mistakes.keep up the great work and vids...
With a slow dog when do you start working with steadiness before the retrieve?
I save all your videos. Keep them coming. I have a great dog who is on her way to being a great duck dog because of your videos. Thank you!!!
Why do you give the "sit" command while you are waiting for him to relax with the glove?
It’s a form of indirect pressure- if he’s thinking of sit and relaxes within the sit, he’ll be less likely to be mouthy
@@loneduckoutfittersI disagree, all your doing is naming that poor behavior. You need some duct tape over your mouth when you train.
Great video and info as per usual! Best in the business!
thank you!
Wow. Awesome stuff! Listened to this twice and finally hopped on KZread to see Pat and his dogs
Good stuff!
Can you do a video explaining how to get your dog to honor other dogs mid retrieve? Idk if it’s possible but I am having issues working with 2 dogs retrieving different birds. Idk if that makes sense but that’s what I am having issues with
Great idea!
what whistle are you using?
Biggest mistake I made with my first YLF was taking a bunch of no shooting rascals into a dark wood duck hole with a new pup on her first duck hunt. Absolute chaos and set her up for failure. Lesson learned. Good lessons, thank you
Got a 20 week YLF, been a minute since I trained my last one (15 years ago..) so I am really enjoying all of your KZread content; little better than reading Water Dog. Keep it up! She's dropping teeth now, so we have backed off the bumpers and working obedience, confidence and some target training EDIT: New Subscriber BTW
Thank you 🍻
Exactly what I needed, thanks
Love it!
GOOD ONE !!
I rescued a 4 month old chocolate is he to old to train?
Good tips. If that doesn't work, you shouldn't have clipped their bàlls off. Get another dog
No, I’ve been throwing bumpers for him a lot and instead of retrieving him, he’ll just look at me and look at them and then walk away. I don’t know what to do.
You need a dog with more drive
DONT like THOSE MOWED LANES , THATS A NO NO FOR BAD HABITS !!!!!
I am using this for my pup. I’ve been using the Chris Atkin cds. It definitely gives me confidence in my pup. I plan on in the next few weeks to get him out. Super excited and nervous lol
Bob, your content has been on point! Keep it up man
This is perfect because its right where we are in training. I tried doing this in combination with Mini_t and struggled. Going to simplify and use this drill with "back" only. Where you giving any collar pressure or "bumps" along with the whistle? Or, is that only needed if a correction must occur?
Hey , So my dog fully understands recall , understands ecollar pressure and the potential of a ecollar. Do you have any tips if my dogs istraction is so high that when offleash he engages with a high istraction and blows through the ecollar and ignores recall. Do I bump up the setting/correction on the ecollar?
Lots of good things in this video. Maybe the best is to simplify. Glad you added the text about alignment. Also, the heeling (hold bumper) correction. Well done. Standards!!!
