Please, can you explain me more coz I didn’t get the idea .
1. First put the metronome on half tempo (half as fast). E.g., if your tempo is quarter = 120, then put your metronome on at quarter = 60. 2. Instead of counting “1…3…1…3” with the metronome, you count: “2…4…2…4” with the metronome. 3. Keeping time while counting, then start filling in the ‘missing’ beats (beats 1 and 3). Start playing normally on beat 1 but now the metronome will be on beats two and four. Hope that helps!
wonderful practise... You are my medicine also.
Thanks 😊!
Maravilha de aula!!! Muito muito bom mesmo, obrigado por compartilhar seus conhecimentos para nós!
Obrigado!! Thanks so much for watching and please stay tuned for Day 3: Building Speed and Accuracy. 🤓 🎻
Intense!👌
Thanks! It was fun to play!
Super .. İ love Thanks you.
I'm glad you like it! Stay tuned for the release of Day 3: Building Speed and Accuracy!
Happy birthday to u. I just learn it today.
Thank you! 😃
Good ideas. I’m sure you have learned this by now, but the way you avoid the wind noise is by putting what they call “a dead cat “over your microphone. It is a furry cover. Good ideas though!
Thanks for the tip! This video was filmed the pandemic when I only had limited recording equipment, so I had to make do with what I had. 😅
Excellent explanation Thank you Needed the tune up/review
Thanks, Scott! I’m happy to hear you found it clear and helpful! Stay tuned for Day 3: Building Speed and Accuracy!
Thanks a lot Lynn , for this nice tutorial so detailed , much appreciated !
You are so welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you :-) shifting without shoulder rest (like Paganini) finds origin in baroque era :-)
Very true! Although, arguably, there wasn’t as much need for big position changes in Baroque playing 🎻!
Thanks for the lesson Lynn! I love it when you talk about bones. You should consider a side career as a chiropractor. ☠️
You’re very welcome, David! I don’t think I would do so well as a chiropractor, ha ha! ☠️
@@violynnkuo I remember the first workshop I attended you talked a lot about bones. Remember the striped sweater episode?
@@davidlowther8886Yes, a striped sweater doesn’t make me a chiropractor though 😅! 😂
Happy birthday by the way!!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the birthday wishes! 🎉
Thank you very much, today will be the day to start ❤

So nice that you do this. I am going to try and give more to content creators that provide wonderful things that help me. I just always seem to be broke (I’m trying to maintain four storage units with my books and it’s $1K/month and I’m losing the battle. But all my stuff takes all my time and weighs heavy on me. Perhaps if I downsize Incan actually have time to practice and buy a Decent bow. PS: can I get a good bow for $300???? P.S.S. You play great. Just the short little samples sound beautiful. ❤ Thanks again.
Thanks so much, Daniel! 🙏 You could certainly find yourself a carbon fibre bow. I know some professionals who actually prefer their carbon fibre bows!
❤
Sublime 🎉
Aww thanks, Bruce! Hope you're having a great summer!

@@violynnkuo I can’t wait. 🎻🎻🎻
A Paganini caprice ..uh oh. Well, I may as well try something of it - somewhat slowly to put it midly..
Hi Eric, yes I designed this Challenge to be applicable to ALL string repertoire and technique. I even had an adult beginner take this Paganini Challenge (she literally was playing Suzuki Book 1 pieces) and she was able to work up to a slow ricochet using the principles in this Paganini Challenge tutorial series!
OK. So, I listened through once. Saw how inadequate I am and now I need to get the violin from the cab of the truck where it’s cooking, tune to your note 441hz? 431? I thought the 440 was the frequency that makes humans obey the new world order without question and that we were to start using 432hz to resonate with God and TRUTH and come to the realization that we ARE NOT on a spinning oblate spheroid hurling through space but Lynn can sit there sipping tea and not spill a drop despite hurling through the universe and spinning and orbiting … Where am Ingoing with this…? Oh, yeah, I’m going to get my violin and try and execute the samples in the physical. When you whip through the runs like you do it’s like the most aroused I’ve been in decades. Impressive!!
Thanks for watching, Daniel! But don't let your violin cook in the cab of your truck, haha! 🥵
@@violynnkuo oh, it’s two hours later and I forgot to get it! I bring it with me when I irrigate and almost never get a chance to play it! Better to leave it at home than let it 🧑🍳 cook.
@@danielgaughan4243A cooked 🎻 is not a happy violin! 😮
@@violynnkuo I rescued it. It was buried under two guitars and a bunch of books so hopefully it’ll be ok. Not sure about the guitars but one’s a $6 (from the rummage sale) Disney guitar and the other a cheap one I have for beating around. (My favorite guitar I played under the shade of some willow bushes and when it was time to go back to work I forgot that I’d leaned it against the front of the truck and I drove over it. Thought it was a lawn chair and went to investigate what the sound was, “Well look at that!” I said, “I just drove over my favorite guitar! There’s a story for the grandchildren that I want but I’ll never have.” 🤨
Thank you for the interesting and necessary information. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!
Hi Tetiana, thanks for watching! I'll be covering Four-Octave Arpeggios and Scales in the next one!
Curious if this series could translate to cello at least for some aspects? Obviously not the fingering and perhaps not the rapid passagework but other elements of overall string instrument technique in general?
Yes, 100%, Jonathan! I've learned a lot in masterclasses with cellists so yes, absolutely. One can always pick up valuable insights, even from disciplines that are not even remotely related to music. :)
@@violynnkuo Fantastic, and I agree with that sentiment - I learn many insights for music from not only other instruments but also other arts, philosophy, writing, math and science etc :) I look forward to watching through the videos and picking up some new ideas. Cheers!
Great info! Decided to hangout, while taking a break from recording.😊
Hi Paul, that tuner app on my tablet is called Tonal Energy (TE). I still can't figure out how to use all its functions, haha.
@@violynnkuo Thank's Lynn, I'm working on a song where I wish I could adjust the beats on the metronome that you hear. I think you mentioned this in the lesson about pulse.
@@Soundgear4 You can do this in Tonal Energy, I believe.
@@violynnkuo Lynn you are a wealth of musical knowledge that transcends to other intruments!🙏❤
Is this worth practicing slowly as a beginner, or leave it for later on?
Yes, definitely try very, very slowly in order to help form and train the fingers. 👍
❤❤❤❤❤
👋 ❤ Hope you enjoy the tutorial series! 😊
@@violynnkuo 👍👍...thanks...
Fun day ❤
As a guitarist who uses vibrato 2nd nature, I thought violin would be easy, but how it couldn't be further from the truth.
They’re completely different things, aren’t they? 😅
@@violynnkuo lol, very much so! Jesus is worthy to be praised!
Thanks!
Nice, Lynn!👌
Thanks so much for the gift 💰 🎁, Paul! 🙏
As a beginner, these tips are great but as someone just beginning to attempt vibrato, that would be nice to see how to actually do it, i.e. the mechanics of it.
Hey Patrick, thanks for watching! Feel free to watch my 7 Best Vibrato Exercises tutorial: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pneXp7udadO1irw.htmlsi=5VFzRKjP2ZKSgP_V
Great video. What I've often seen is that even for beginners, if they follow the good instructions with the proper practice, they will learn and develop the correct curved pinky relatively easily; It is extremely challenging for those who already have "established" (so used to) playing violin with the first 2 knuckles all collapsed (flat straight) on the finger-4. I appreciate your work
Thanks for watching! ❤😊
Yeah just eat it 😂
I bought the Kreddle. It's really ingenious, but I find that it's weak spot is the plate. I find it far too small.
Hi Sue, yes, that jaw plate is smaller than the average chin rest, for sure!
lynn, you are the best violinist and a great teacher, I keep coming back to you to learn so many techniques! Thank you so much!
Aww, that is absolutely the kindest and most genuine comment someone could write. 🙏 😊 Thank you SO much! 🥰 🎻
Great explanations and fun techniques ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it! 🎻
