    Re-Posting my reply to @LesyaMogilnilova for visibility... "A couple of months ago I was reading the comments on one of Delta's videos and there was an interaction from a woman claiming to be a relative of Delta. She claimed that Delta "was no longer with us". She claimed that he had passed. She didn't give details as to what exactly happened to him, but wanted to thank everyone for the love and support being shown towards Delta. I've tried to did up any information to verify this but as with all things Delta, he remains shrouded in mistery. I can only hope that the woman was just trolling, but admittedly she came off pretty sincere (at least it seemed that way to me as I read her comments..) Totally agree with your words my friend. Siberiano did two things. One is good and one is bad. The one is good is the fact he push everybody to grove own discipline to achieve a personal goal. But the opposite side of the coin is the fact that looking is technique create a kind of depression in “normal” other drummer. At the end KZread social is in change era. And also I personal think that early this big success of siberiano is close to have a break down. This is a long discussion and reason behind this mine opinion. Anyway you catch the point with your words.

  • @dionsheds

    Thanks Walter! You don't know how much this means to me, hearing your opinion on this topic. This video took me a while to publish because I wanted to do some research first before sharing my thoughts & findings. I totally agree with you that El Estepario reinvented the wheel indeed but the side effects of that reinvention, sadly normalized what drumming is now set to look like and be all about. Especially in the eyes of a lot of newer drummers, audiences and in the social media world who might not have been familiar with other greats who came before him. I personally think that awakening has already begun though, I'm not saying that El Estepario's drumming has finally reached a boring point. People are slowly starting to get the message and want better for themselves even though wanting better does not guarantee quick gratification. It's one thing to be a fan but how can you use your fandom to better your own skills & self in the process? Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense, thanks again for the comment 🙏🏾

    Nice edit! Those clips of other creators in the beginning worked well to solidify your first statement. I've talked through comments with @JeremySee a few times in the past. He runs a music based channel. I think he would be a good example to follow if you talk about equipment. A lot of consistency over the years serving his audience. Though, it doesn't look like he posts videos too often these days. Personally, I do split up my interests into a few channels. The "Creator Insider" channel run by KZread employees does say what you had mentioned about serving viewers instead of serving videos. Though, I think the whole subscriber dynamic adds a weird aspect to the system and tends to lock people into genres (just my opinion here of course). I do agree that the ultimate goal is having people care about us more than the content we produce. That way they show up for the individual rather than a specific thing or genre talked about. It's tough and I haven't been great at showing more of myself in videos that get decent viewership.

  • @dionsheds
    @dionsheds4 ай бұрын

    Thanks Scott, really appreciate your feedback. Awesome, I will look up @JeremySee and check out his channel, I am always looking for other content creators whose interest lines up with mines so yeah great advice. Consistency does require a lot from creators which is why I am hesitant on starting a new channel to explore topics like these some more. Hence why I try to give my own personal journey and examples to hopefully drive the message across to my audience, and to others unfamiliar with my channel. A new channel might be worth looking at because I am also very passionate about these types of videos. I do agree with your thoughts on subscriber dynamics. Personally as content creators, one might stumble upon certain topics that are equally as important to explore and talk about. Sure you take a gamble because it might not resonate with your current audience but does that mean you STOP and not explore? I think not… If a topic resonates with you then I think it is fair game to pursue it because you never know who is patiently waiting to hear you. Moreover, KZread is rather tough and like you said “the ultimate goal is having people care about us more than the content we produce” that is my goal too but it is hard because if I personally just keep doing one thing on here, no matter how much I love talking about that thing, it will eventually get stale and boring even for the creator which adds to why some KZreadrs are quitting the platform. My opinion here is to do what you love and understand that passion changes, and know that it is okay to change along with them if that is what makes you happy. Don’t limit yourself to one thing, it is okay to explore and tailor as needed to get the success you want and even if it doesn’t work out, as least you tried. For example, this video might not get the views and exposure it deserves but that is okay because I am proud of the work/value I put into it and I look forward to getting better from there.

    I picked up a 20" medium. I know it is a ride but I cannot match the sound to any other sabian 20" ride. I know this is an AA or better which in itself is a 300 dollar cymbal. Huge wash and sustain. Sabian relathed these SR2's. Mine doesn't crash either...so now I am looking at a 18" crash and possibly a 16" crash. Sabian AA and above is quality. $100 a cymbal seems reasonable to me and the mystery of not knowing exactly what you picked up is like Christmas. I read, many a drummer buys a cymbal, brings it home and it is not exactly what your ears were hoping for. I wished I could afford all those gorgeous 5 and 600 dollar cymbal but the pockets are only so deep. Retired at 63 and started lessons 5 months ago. I will never play out, and good chances only my wife hears my playing besides my drum teacher. Great information brother.

  • @dionsheds
    @dionsheds4 ай бұрын

    Thanks Edward for taking the time to comment, really appreciate it. These SR2 cymbals are really special especially considering what you pay for them compared to others. $100 for a great mystery cymbal is really awesome. I'm glad you seem happy with your 20" ride. I love this 18" cymbal as well although I don't play it as often, it definitely has a special sound and place in my heart. I guess the gamble is that you don't know upfront what these cymbals once were but with some research you can always find out especially judging by their hammering marks. I hear you though, cymbals are so expensive and if you're not careful, you could be trending down an endless hole of no return. I know I made that awful mistake before, if you can afford them sure but for most of us, other priorities far outweigh the purchases. That being said, I have been lucky with sites like Kijiji and eBay for used cymbals at a discounted price, if you are interested. Again thanks for the feedback and I wish you all the best brother 🙏

    @@dionsheds I saw him once in Bonn, Germany. His drumming is very smart. I think the fact he also sings is one of his secret keys. Have a nice weekend and a good healthy time on earth. Greetings from Koblenz... Christoph 👋 👋 👋 👋 👋

    Thanks for commenting on this, really appreciate it. I feel like there're a lot of things to know before starting, something that is not always talked about by the majority of KZreadrs.
