Nine Lives To Live is a channel about improving the lives of your house cats.
Many of us keep our cats inside to keep them safe. But inside a house, or apartment, cats miss the natural stimulation of the outdoors, which can lead to boredom and behavior problems.
This channel shares ways to improve the quality of life of your kitties, from play to food to grooming to cat communication. We hope you find some ideas and answers in these videos.
This channel is only possible with the help of my three cats: Calypso (shy but demanding), Skyfall (talkative and friendly) and Mr. Muffin (the king of the household).

Coyote’s dug under my cat coral and ate my cats
Thanks for including a more diy version!! Really cool of you
My vet charges 107USD for X-rays. They are EXTREMELY important because they catch things beneath the gumline. You could take your cat in for a cleaning, spend all that money, and still have a cat who is in intense pain afterwards because of something below the gumline and never know it.
The senior bloodwork and the checkup beforehand, plus the cleaning (no extractions) in Colorado is approximately 1000USD. Tooth removals are like $200 each. It’s crazy, but that’s how much it costs around here more or less.
Thank you
That is fabulous!
They use their balcony, I like to have one myself❤❤❤❤❤
Great idea. I'm looking for a house so will keep these tips in mind! There's another huge reason this type of set-up can not only pay for itself, but SAVE YOU MONEY > letting a cat roam free can often mean, they get into fights, which means they get hurt, or contract a disease. That equals *big* vet bills!!!!
Greaat idea!...but maybe give them a size upgrade very soon, mom or dad...there's at least 2 furbabies in there..:)
Mr muffin type?
I would love that for our 8 babies but in Texas with so many scorpions, fire ants, large hawks and snakes it wouldn't be a probability, but we are moving to upstate Newyork soon so hopefully it will be a better atmosphere..
고양이들이 바깥 풍경도 마음껏 즐길 줄 수 있고 밝은 공기도 쓸 수 있도록 좋은 아이디어인 거 같애 보자본이랑 고양이랑 오래오래 건강하게 행복하세요
I have something like this But it's multiple layers
❤
Two happy customers here in N.E. Ohio! We had Purrfect Fence installed in our new (1962) home four years ago this month. We brought three "outside" cats with us (they lived on our enclosed patio year round) because there was NO way we would leave them behind. As expected they tried climbing the fence but realized that was not going to work and we never saw them try it again. The fence has held up very well and we have seen no outside animals try to climb into our enclosure. Sadly, one of the cats managed to catch a bird but that is way fewer than what they did where we lived before. Two thumbs up for Purrfect Fence!
Bless you for not leaving your cats behind!
@@MD-dw5qg Thanks! As I said above NO way would we leave these precious cats behind when we moved. Of the three cats who moved here with us only 8 year old Lennie is still alive. Nellie and Lester lived rich, full lives of 17 and 16 years, respectively. Regards...
Ningún animalito debería de estar en serrado aun dentro de casa, solo hay una vida a que dejarlos ser libres, y tenerles su cama, comida y agua siempre, pero sueltos y alegres.
But if you don’t have finances to take them to the vet, if they get hurt, then you lose your animal, then you have to take them to the shelter and they will take them
But if you don’t have finances to take them to the vet, if they get hurt, then you lose your animal, then you have to take them to the shelter and they will take them . That’s what worries me, I like the idea of them being free to do what cats do, but I don’t want to lose them.

Great idea
I have 2 super long clotheslines in my yard and a super long leash with a cantilever key. My cat has a harness, a Tractive GPS tracker just in case, and he spends most of the day out in the yard, chasing birds, eating grass and sleeping under bushes, while staying safe of cars and in the yard.
What do you do if a mean, mad dog comes along and your cats are helplessly out there on leashes?
I would be concerned about the longevity of the fence material in harsh climates & weather. Who cares if the homeowner association allows it; homeowner associations are pathetic criminal narcissists that extort homeowners & try to ruin people's lives.
Fantastic content! We have two indoor cats and are purchasing a stroller this week and are excited to make a catio once we move homes!
You have a quibble over kibble?
not so much keep them safe, rather keep the poor birds safe
Not all cats are good bird hunters. I’ve been watching a stray cat eyeball the birds at my bird feeders for the past two weeks and he has never come close to catching a bird. Also, birds aren’t stupid, they just wait until the cat leaves and then they approach the bird feeders. 😂
I've got something similar in the UK. The problem I have is its stops my cats getting out, but it doesn't stop other cats getting in and once in, they can't get out. What I should have gone for is rollers. You can improvise with any 6 inch or more tubes, pipes, you can get really cheap. Then you have to find rods so the pipes roll I'd a cat tries to get out, or in. There's plenty of videos on how to do this.
Dont mean to scare folks but i have two really sick neighbors. They like to trap and poison cats. The local animal control and police cant stop them as county law here allows for poisoning and trapping of nusance pests. Yeah nice folks huh. My cats have had to stay inside for years. Afew will stay home. But thereve been at least nine neighbors cats poisoned. Protect your babies. This sounds like a possibe.
How cool is this? I would worry if you live in an area with birds of prey. I had to let my Pit Bulls out so the birds wouldn’t dare try to grab our cats, or rabbits, and pet crow.
I love this. It breaks my heart to see cats trapped indoors for their entire life when they clearly want to be outside sometimes. This is a great solution that should suit a lot of cat lovers.❤❤❤❤
excellent advices. Thank you for your detailed research.
happy happy cats. I so dislike to see cats locked in small flats without any chance to express their wild nature.
Super informative video that didn’t lose my attention. Thanks for this
Our cats get outside without a confinement. I taught them that when I whistle, there is food. Each evening at 18:00, before we dine ourselves I whistle and they come running within 5 minutes (they go away pretty far). We live in a pretty nature rich environment on the waterside. We have the cats for our enjoyment and so our daughter can grow up with pets to learn to appreciate animals. But they are also here as some form of pest control, they catch the moles, mice and rats in the area. Before we had them we had mice coming in our house in winters, lots of moles in the garden, rat holes etc. That is all brought back to a minimum now. They have also chased away a family of pine martens we had in our garden house. They are wonderful creatures.
My cat has been conditioned to go outside in the courtyard but not go beyond.
I have zip ties holding up trellising in fruit belt…. I found that after 4 years the ties deteriorated and broke …
Ok so I use the Miracle Mat for the cats coming in and out - works for people too! I tried a bunch of mats, pet mats too, and this is the one that worked best for me. I even noticed a decrease in messes when vacuuming. One thing the cats also liked is there was a window in their enclosure that looked right into the room I usually was in so one of them liked to check in. I always said it was like a 5 yr old “Mom! Mom! .. Hi!” Then back to playing. And flea prevention was a must. I also tended to get all the outdoor shots at the vet, just in case.
What about aerial predators? 😳
I think an important point is that stray cats didn't choose to live in these neighbourhoods, they or their ancestors have been abandoned. So us humans are responsible and the bare minimum is not to harm them. What untrained dogs do in the yard may be beyond our control. But on walks, its absolutely necessary to keep an untrained dog on a leash. I just found your channel, I don't own cats but am contemplating adopting a pair from a shelter im the future. You have some great advice on here, thank you for that.🙏
I do not have a cat anymore, but I am very happy for all the people and their cats who will benefit from your recommendations. I always love to learn new things and I enjoyed your presentation immensely. Thank you. We need more people like you who take the time to help others.
instant sub! _you_ are the cat daddy my man!!
This is absolutely insane. I love it so much!!!!
Bit of ancedote, my cat was 18+ years when she passed away. Spent her whole life eating only dry Iams chicken-favored food pellets because she was super picky. She had zero dental problems at the age of 18.
Real question, How do you deal with fleas ??? My 3 cats got fleas and the outside and inside became infested. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to get rid of them and nothing worked until I got them treated and we moved . What's your secret???
The grey and white one is identical to Martin who was my napping buddy for 17 years. PLEASE do t let your cats roam This product is GREAT! gonna get one.
Dang...that Tortie walking along the fence looks like Martins soul mate. hibou...french for owl. too weird!
I only have a back yard, I have three cats - one time I had 8,so I fitted chicken wire all over my back yard,
Just got a kitten, 8 weeks old and my older cat, 7 years old, walked around with a puffed up tail for days. I couldn’t tell if they were fighting or playing and usually they chase each other afterwards, so I wasn’t sure. They are getting along for the most part, but my big guy still hisses at her when she gets too close and he’s trying to sleep. (But will lay down next to her when she’s sleep) Great video!!!
"she just rolled around on the sidewalk" 🤣 omg why was that image so freaking funny to me? The owner's paralyzing fear and PANIC as their cat flies out the front door... (cat immediately turns into a piglet in the mud the second their paws hit the pavement)
Cats mustn’t go out because of flayers. Period.
Thanks for this video! My husband and I just bought a house and we can’t wait to make cat shelves and a carpet wall. The kitten I got in 2022 LOVES climbing things. I’ve never had a cat that can climb like she can. She can balance on top of our doors too lol. I knew I had to build her shelves when she started climbing up my clothes in my closet to get to the top shelf 😐 it was funny when she was a kitten but now she’s a big girl and really damages my clothes!!
I’m thinking about doing this in our spare room over the window because we have one cat that will not leave that room since she doesn’t get along with two of our other cats.
Here in Australia we need to keep cats safe but also make they don't kill any more if our precious native wildlife.
I got a cheep ready made rased flower bed from garden centre 6" high no bottom, and I filled it with small gravel instead of the sand the cats can easily scrape it over, and the rain washes the wee away . I use a disinfectant spray after cleaning out the number two's then rinse with water. but would not recommend the gravel if you also have a dog. I washed the gravel to remove the dirt before filling the cat box.
Hairsausage 😂😂
Why not just add the overhang to the top of your fence?
