If I'm not mistaken, I think this is feathering the image, not the mask? Which I'm sure is helpful to a lot of people but I need to feather the mask itself.

this doesn't work because in the new version of PS, you dont get to see the anchor points. however i have figured it out!!! insert or make your shape or whatever you want revolving, then with that selected, hit edit>transform>rotate. Then mouse the mouse in the general center of your object, then hold ALT, then click and drag the mouse down the some imaginary center point of the revolution. Now it is ready to be rotated in the desired way. but you first will need to know how many you want in your circle. if you do 12, then you will be rotating it over to 30 degrees. the degree will pop up and show right where your mouse is when you drag for rotation. but before you get into that click on the layer that holds the object, hit CNTRL+C, then hit CNTRL+V ELEVEN TIMES. you will now have 12 objects sitting on top of eachother. Now follow me, make the anchor point as described above, by going to EDIT>transform>rotate, holding alt, you drag the center point of your object to the imagary anchor point below, then deselect the first object layer in your layers view box on the lower right of your screen, with the rotate feature and the new anchor point active(might have to redo the anchor point after the deselect), (MAKE SURE ALL 11 LAYERS ARE SELECTED), rotate/revolve the 11 other objects all at once by left clicking somewhere just below the objects and dragging some bit. you dont have to move it at all actually, because at the top of your screen where the features are located for the selected tool, you will see a geometric angle icon with some numbers to the right. type in 30.00 for the angle, and your 11 objects will move to that point. Now fasten your seatbelts, over at the layer view box on the right, deselect the bottom most layer that is selected by holding CNTROL and clicking on that bottom layer that is selected. Now you will only have 10 layers selected! Go to EDIT> transform>AGAIN. it will be the very first option to the right of transform. Now all of those 10 layers moved another 30 degrees! The shortcut for transform>again is: CNTRL+SHIFT+T. So with that in mind, keep deselecting the bottom most layer that is selected then hitting CNTRL+SHIFT+T and it will move the remaining 9 objects all together. Do this until you have done this repetitive step until you move the last layer selected. It will rotate the object respectively in relation to its position with the anchor point so you may need to click on each object individually to rotate it back to straight. you'll see what i mean when you're there. I hope this helps someone.

Too inconvenient and sadly it is missing the margins. So much better in PS, where you just make a grid layout, incl. the margins and then save it as a preset. Why is Adobe not simply adapting all the good stuff in between their apps?

@MateoMarine28 күн бұрын
Is there a way to do a reverse function of this? Not undo -- but re-create the star that has been cut out?
@MindIslandDesign28 күн бұрын
You can select the object with the star cut out, and with the shape builder tool selected, click in the cut out area to create the same shape where there is a hole. Just make sure to add a fill color

@@usuariogoogle2264 yup, turns out, he does the exporting thing one by one for complicated projects, so you can rearrange them yourself. The better way to solve it that I found is to export it from illustrator as a .ai file and then open that in AE. You can insert the 1x file too, but it won’t be arranged exactly like your AI project
