I can't recall - was Denny Schreiner still paired with Mike Durbin during this time, and Marshall was just filling in for him (Denny)? Or was Denny out in 1997?

It:s weird seeing Norm Duke with a beard when I used to seeing him clean shaven.

Watching this was the highlight of my day. Used to bowl against Himmler in Junior tournaments, great final match and the greatest show on turf was the next day according to the ad! (Seriously, these old ads are fun to watch!)

The ball never came close to Healey's ankle on that gutter shot. He just sent the shot too wide.

I liked it when they used to show the wives and girlfriends. Schenkel would always comment on their looks if they were pretty and say nothing if they weren't. They would comment on the bowlers weight, too. Ah, the 80s. When Jimmy the Greek was fired, it was the beginning of the end for inappropriate comments.

Like him or not, I always wished we got more of Bob Vespi when it came to making telecasts. This is why versatility is important in this sport.

Back during a time when a person's skin color wasn't an issue whatsoever. Now it's more of an issue than anything and it shouldn't be. Wish we could go back to those days where someone's skin color was irrelevant.

This was near the beginning of the death of the PBA. What is with the crowd going bonkers when the bowler hasn't even started their approach yet? Did some network genius think that this added more "energy" to the telecast? It just makes it unbearable to watch. Hey crowd, STFU until after the bowler has released the ball. Geeze!
