My wife is getting back to running and is going to run the half marathon first trail run for her. Then she will crew me/maybe even pace me for some if she feels up to it. Hope to see you out there!

    Had the same issue this morning when I went to head to the office (!!). When I parked the truck at night, was working fine - tried to start in the morning - just crank crank crank - no catch. First thing I went to was the fuse which was fine and then caught your video about the fuel pump relay module. Ran down to the local parts store and picked up the part (about $80 locally) - dropped the spare tire, replace the old relay with the new and it fired right up. Appreciate the tip! I had also tried the one work around below from @sirspeedy77 and that didn't work for me so had to go the full replacement route. Once I got the tire down the replacement took my all of 30 minutes. Most of the time was spent trying to get the g-darned pigtail harness off the relay without breaking the plastic tab. I had watched another video of a mechanic shop doing the same replacement and he had left the relay on the frame to remove the harness and then took the part off to replace it. I ended up putting the bad part back on the frame which made it MUCH easier to remove the harness. Harness off - then pulled the part back off and replaced it. You were absolutely right in this is a pretty simple and straight forward replacement. The location of the part is very easy to get to, the part is not expensive (available at local parts stores and your amazon link) and it this really was just 2 10mm bolts that you unbolt from the top. For those that come here and go to do this replacement while laying on your back under the truck I recommend a closed-end ratcheting 10mm wrench as it gives a much better angle to loosen the bolts than using a socket and driver from above. If you are fortunate enough to have a lift and are standing - socket and driver is much easier as there is plenty of space between the bolt heads and the bed of the truck (at least 4-5")

    To optimize your diet, focus on consuming 80% of your daily calories from complex carbohydrates like fresh vegetables, legumes, some fruits, and 100% whole grain breads, pastas, and rice. Prioritize beans as your primary protein source, making up about 10% of your daily caloric intake. Include lean meats such as chicken breast, turkey, and fish in moderation. Avoid pork, processed meats, and seafood. Allocate the remaining 10% of your calories to healthy fats like milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and eggs. Stick to water, herbal teas, and coffee for beverages, and steer clear of processed foods like snack bars, cookies, and cereals. When cooking, opt for boiling or baking methods, and feel free to grill meats for variety. Use only 100% extra virgin olive oil for cooking, avoiding toxic oils like corn oil, vegetable oil, and canola oil. Finally, supplement your gout diet with Nutrigout which cleanses your kidneys. Best of luck on your health journey!

    What did you go to medical school for and what made you stop practicing medicine?

  • @GokuRunner
    @GokuRunner4 күн бұрын

    Medical school is for medicine in general so you learn about all the specialities and rotate between everything your last 2 years so that you can apply to residency. Residency is where you can applly to become a dermatalogist, surgeon, ob/gyn, family med, etc... If i were to have gotten into residency it would be for either psych or FM. Medicine wasn't in my cards . I wasn't passionate enough to really study for the boards and pass. It was more of a thing I was pushed in to so really I had no love for it.

    Sorry to hear you're still dealing with gout, haven't had it in years. Have your doctor prescribe Allopurinol for maintenance, take it daily. Also, try tart black cherry juice, lay off the pork (if you eat it) and rich creamy sauces, dark soda.

    Qotd: I ran a lot more races back when they were cheap and no swag was the rule. The ones that I ran in the 70s and 80s were typically put on to raise awareness of fitness and to encourage people to be more active, so the goal was to get as many people out as possible and not to maximize revenue. I did it for the race itself, year after year, running with the streets closed off. It was something different than another Saturday morning run by myself. There was always a t-shirt covered in sponsors' names, which paid for the shirts, and they were happy to be sponsors since it was for a cause and no one was really making money, and that was it. But if I was putting on a race commercially, I could come out ahead if 10 people paid $100,000 each and not if 100,000 people paid $10 each, and I think that's the logic that keeps driving race prices up. And of course for marathon majors, Disney, etc, runners spend so much on travel, hotels, meals, and everything else involved that the cost of entry doesn't really make a difference. They might complain about it, but from someone who's taken more economics classes than anyone who isn't an economist should ever have to, complaining doesn't enter into it. Either you pay the price or you don't. (Yes, this is something that I think about way too much.😄)

    Yeah, gout sucks. Runs in my family, as well (we have similar ethnic backgrounds) Of course i got on medication after having a major attack in my left knee. I would usually get attacks in my ankles and joints in my hands. I haven't had any gout attacks in nearly 4 years, but i think it's mainly due to drastically changing my diet because i'm not really good at taking allopurinol consistently, and am evening considering stopping it in the near future. I still eat junk food occasionally, like once a week, and maybe a few times on vacation. I still lift weights about twice a week and only run between 15-30 mi a week depending on what race i have coming up. Good luck, it's definitely possible to manage it, though it was difficult for me in the beginning because i love to eat.

    Yaaaas!! Go get it!! I grew up watching my stepfather struggle with gout. He's be perfectly fine, sitting down or walking or cooking, then scream, sometimes dropping to the floor. And he's a big strong man and retired military. I hope they come up with a cure soon... but until then, all you can do is live your best life according to the cards you're dealt. So maybe you've got 18-20 week training blocks, to account for missed training. You've got this!! So excited!

    July 2024 This review is 🤏 because he lost the remote and obviously didn't read manual. I'm a senior with multiple fitness issues. Mr Goku is already in shape and young. Good for him. Really. In reading manual you can pick a program from manual pages 12 & 13. Pick the 'P' you want 0-9 and then number of minutes you want. Machine will start at a high # then throttle down to low # every minute. I used it sitting to begin and put my hands on my knees to get upper body moving too. I got my machine from Lifepro directly for $199. I chose the waver and I'm extremely glad I did. They have excellent customer service so don't hesitate to ask a question. I called them with a question about a different device I purchased from them and got a good answer. I also registered both my devices to extend their warranty. Worth it in opinion. I know of several people with similar body/health issues. Several of them are not seniors like I am. If I had only watched this one video, I wouldn't have been convinced to purchase the Lifepro Waver. Watch more than one video but listen to other's experience too. Read the manual. It's easy to understand or just call them. I am not affiliated with any one or any thing. This is my opinion from my experience.

    I just watched a press conference where officials were begging Houston residents to stop harassing and threatening line workers, even going so far as to brandish an assault rifle! WTH is wrong with them? I live in the Northeast. Losing power for several days, up to 10, is not uncommon in snow/ ice storms. We LOVE our line workers, knowing that though we're freezing, dressed in a million layers , worried about our families and pets, without water and heat, and our pipes are at risk of bursting, we know they're there to help, doing a dangerous job in brutal conditions. I've got a couple chronic issues, and have to adjust everything to make the best of it. I hope you can find ways to manage it and still live your life! Have fun in Vegas!
