Here at Wild Empress I share videos about creative photography, self-portraits and how to do it without any fancy gear or a big creative team to work with. My name is Vanessa, I am a creative self portrait photographer obsessed with making things (not just photos) and thrift store shopping. I am here to help other creatives jump in and make stuff too, and support my fellow artists with whatever they need.
I aim to connect with creatives no matter your skill level, inspire and encourage you to just create.

This is why I don’t want to be on meds. I KNOW my intense creativity is just a huge anxiety coping mechanism I developed. And I accept that. It WORKS for me. But I have been recommended SSRIs or ADHD meds in order to handle the transition to my first job and I am worried about my imagination and inner worlds vanishing and NEVER coming back even when I stop taking meds. I have to go to the psychiatrist appointment and hear all the options, but personally I don’t feel as “broken” and “mentally ill” as everyone assumes I am. Do you have any advice?
I'm not a medical professional so anything I say is only based off my experience. I was in a place where I was not coping and I do not regret my time taking meds. It's been over a year now off of them and there have been rough patches where I thought about going back on but decided not to because it was so hard coming off them. That said, my son takes medication for ADHD and it does not have the same issues if he stops taking them. He says it makes a huge difference for him, so if I was faced with the potential of ssris and something for adhd I personally would start with the adhd medication and see if that makes a difference for me.
Where's the Benadryl?
Thanks for the helpful video. Can you post the link for the initial sticker tutorial?
Love it
very cool
Don't feel bad if I could I would share myself portraits too!
The photoshoot still turned out amazing 💙! Have a blessed year to you and your family 🥰!!
Maybe people don't break, parts separate so they can grow unabated. Looking forward to seeing the results of this photshoot
According to google indigo means arua reading and psychic powers.
COOL❤
WOW 🎉
I like your creative ideas.
Yes she looks like beautiful things❤❤
My hobby is to create art by myself, oil painting. But to make money I think AI generated art is a good way to go fast, i'm starting on that and I hope they don't reprove my images.
I loved this
Awe thanks for checking it out 💕💕
powerful words, lovely images and you are a princess if you wish to be
I want to be a kraken
@@WildEmpress Interesting choice
These videos are giving me life, a little pause where my mind can stop running a mile a minute.
I appreciate this. Posting this video lost me 4 subscribers. Lots of people subscribers aren't here for this new direction I'm taking... but I never got comments like this on my old videos before so worth it !✨️
@@WildEmpress that sucks, at the end of the day you have to make content that feels fulfilling to you. I originally found your book cover photography videos on my recommended page, I’d never heard of photography specifically for book covers before but I found it called to me. Now I’m an Arcangel contributor, so thank you for that. Never would have happened without your content. I still love your content because I find that I relate to it a lot. I’m an introspective introvert who is creative to an obsessive degree. Your recent videos are beautiful, I love getting a glimpse into your creative process. Keep creating and exploring this aspect of your art ❤
@@BethanyRose17 thanks for sticking around ✨️
You have not failed though
It feels like it these days
@@WildEmpress it feels like so here too, but please remind me we haven't, my friend, for we are shaped through our struggles too.
You have such a beautiful soul! Thank you for sharing your words and magic with us ✨🦋
✨️✨️ thank you I appreciate your kind words ✨️✨️
powerful and so many emotions
I love your work. That's all. I feel like you're unpicking and working your way through pain that shades all of us.
Today I'm unpacking my way through an entire box of girl guide cookies. 😬
What an idea!
Beautifully done ❤
Many many thanks 💕
The poem and photoshoot worked really well together; keep up the good work!
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment, sometimes it feels like I'm speaking into a void, comments help me remember there's people on the other side ✨️
Relatable (I never post)
Naaaaaaaawwwwwww...... This is so raw and beautiful. I'm crying with you.
Thank you. It's been a rough go for me lately.
I am sending you love 💛💛 and peace
Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
I can totally relate to what you said in this video. But I think it’s not always death we lose our loved ones to. Sometimes they simply aren’t there for us anymore and the grief doesn’t go away in some cases after some time. But I truly believe that those who die go to a better place and maybe we’ll meet them again in the future.
I have definitely experienced this as well. Sometimes depending on the situation it can be even more difficult to move through. 💔
Beautifully written. I really felt every single word of it. A friend of mine, an older gentleman once told me that you can tell alot about the size of people's hearts and the depth of their emotions by observing how badly someone grieves. I believe that to be true to some extent. I feel I can relate to the pain expressed in this recitation of feelings.
Thank you for your kind words. It's comforting and also sad to know that others can relate 😢
❤
👍🏻🙂
Oooo that's cool!
💎❤️
Locking focus worked !!!! Thanks :)))))
Glad to hear!!
You’re an amazing artist! I do acrylic and watercolors, and pencils. ❤❤ Jonna and her channel are amazing, I am from Buffalo and Sweden. Can’t wait to move back to Sweden it’s the best. Love KZread! I haven’t had cable tv in 14 years! Just streaming. And mostly KZread.
I love that you are an artist too!! It's great hearing from other creative type people and part of the reason why I do youtube is to connect with some. Do you have a favorite out of acrylic/ watercolor and pencils? do you use all three in your pieces like a mixed media or do you do them separate?
@@WildEmpress hi! Acrylic craft paints by Apple Barrel are one of my go to’s and I just got into Kristy Rice’s watercolors. I do want to try Windsor and Newton watercolors! I do use pencil to sketch my paintings, and I use ink in some of my Watercolor paintings to make some things stand out. Nice to meet you !
I paint for the same reasons ❤ 1:37
I love Jonna too and I’m an artist as well ❤
You are so positive and open. It's great that you follow your heart and do what you feel. I know how it is. I do the same with my macrophotos. My friends ask me how I do this, but I just feel, like you, when I have inspiration I do it. If I try to do it specially - it doesn't work. Thank you for sharing this video with us. I wish you always follow your heart ❤️✨☺️
oooooo, I love macro photos!! They are like stepping into another world, everything looks so dreamy with the shallow depth of field !!
Super talented… what a lovely painting of Joanna… very well done 👏 👏👏
As a 36 year old still trying to understand how to be an adult, this really resonated with me. Love how peaceful this video is❤
If you figure stuff out before I do, make sure to come back and fill me in!! 😅
What a lovely painting! You couldn't have picked a more perfect person to depict, as Jonna is a jewel amongst people! She shines like a gem! Thank you for sharing, and being so inspiring~❤️
She sure does stand out to me. We could use more people like her in this world for sure!!
You have worked so hard on your channel glad this one taking off, gives me hope too, the elusive KZread algorithm
It's all thanks to Jonna Jinton, she shared this video on her community page. I didn't even know you could share other people's videos there 😅😅
That’s an amazing video, thanks for sharing! I think that for me one of my keys to happiness is to also accept feelings that most people would consider negative. Of course that doesn’t mean that I actively seek for situations in which such feelings arise. I don’t know if that would work for everyone but for me it works. BTW, I found your channel because Jonna shared your video in which you painted a portrait of her which is amazing!
I appreciate you so much for taking the time to check out another video of mine even though it was just the Jonna painting that brought you here. I do believe that it is healthy to experience all our emotions, but your right no need to seek that negativity out!! ✌🏻
@@WildEmpress Thanks - your videos are amazing!
I came across this video by accident - I'm a big fan and avid follower of Jonna and am also an artist (who isn't really doing much art at the moment and have had a very challenging five months without let-up). I was really compelled to watch and listen to the end because I just loved your openness and 'realness' and how you articulated this story. 😊
Awe thanks for watching! Maybe this is your sign to get back into making art! ✨😉
We have a new god! Finaly.....
and her name is Jonna!!
The magicians was a good show!
It sure was!
@@WildEmpress oh, and your painting is good too! 😁
very nice painting, but for my taste joanna looks so old on the picture. shes such a lovely vivid and young soul it kinda irritating me.
Firstly, its not necessary to comment. You can keep scrolling. Secondly, were you truly a fan of Jonna, you'd know she is all about kindness, and you'd know how to spell her name. Be nice. It costs nothing.
@@barb61 do u have any mental problems??? first: you dont decide for others if they are a fan from something oder somebody. thats only arrogant. second: i wasnt rude or insulting. i gave just my opinion, i even said thats a nice painting. or are you the opinion because i dont write her name right i dont have a right to comment? run your crusade somewhere else
So wonderful❤!!
Thank you very much!!
Jonna is realy a great inspiration all over the world 😊
She sure is, I absolutely love her energy ✨
❤❤❤
✨✨✨
😵💫😵 it's the thought that counts...
intentions do matter. What were yours with this comment?
@@WildEmpress I wrote it...
Love this so much ❤️
