    I set it for 28 days. They could also hatch early. On the 24th or 25th day I stop the automatic rotation. Or whenever there is a pip

    Hi...I have an important and urgent question...I'm presently incubating Quaker parrot eggs in a Brinsea Ovation 56 EX full automatic incubator for the first time and today they are at day 22 of incubation, my question is how many days does it take for quaker eggs to hatch from when they started being incubated. I checked many sites on the subject but none say the same number of incubation days. Thanks....Your video was instructive and nice.

    i found bird eggs on the ground in my backyard so i took them in and im incubating them and i candle them once everyday and one of eggs is dented inward and that one is moving on the inside like when i candle it the the air pocket/sac or the sac with the bird in it is sliding around now is that ok? is has blood vessels and i see a dark dot which i think is the birds body so is it ok if its sliding around? and the air pocket has gotten huge like its hald the gg so is that the death of the embryo? :(

    how did the automatic turning work ? do you think it could work on smaller eggs like songbirds (finches , canaries , sparrow , ) or smaller parrots like budgies ?

  • @TheOfficialJoel
    @TheOfficialJoel2 жыл бұрын

    Of course it would work. You just have to know how long it takes those eggs to incubate so you can remove the egg turning tray 3 days prior.

    Hello, I was going to buy one later this week for Hatch Cockatoo Eggs as this year they started to break the eggs. Do you have success with this incubator ?

  • @TheOfficialJoel
    @TheOfficialJoel2 жыл бұрын

    hi sorry for the late reply. yes i have had a lot of success when i used to use it. the humidity it probably the trickiest part to get adjusted to. just make sure the eggs stop moving 2-3 days before the scheduled hatch date, so basically remove the disk that rotates the eggs when that happens

    Do you know of a reputable breeder I can get EGGS from? I have ALL of my tools ( incubator, syringe, brooder, etc) I just don't trust a lot of online places. Where can I get a MACAW!??!

  • @pixazelz
    @pixazelz2 жыл бұрын

    no reputable breeder will sell eggs as those are laid in smaller quantities , are fragile ... and no breeders would sell eggs as the birds are more valuable and can get more money for them. raising babies are a pain and no breeders would sell eggs to a debutant that could kill the babies with only one small mistakes. if you want a macaw your only way its to find a reputable breeder near you .... and be prepared for a bird that will outlive you and your future generations as they can live 130 years old. , be extremely loud , detroy every thing (woods , plastics , electrics cords)and need constant attention as they are live a 3 years old but during all their lives.

    Hi Joel, Thanks so much for your video! I am planning on using a similar incubator. I was wondering, did you use the automatic turning feature of your incubator? I am struggling a bit with this because I will have eggs in different stages of the embryo development, just like it is the case in your video. I've read that it is very recommended to stop turning the eggs more or less 2 days before hatching. However, because the eggs are in different stages, this moment will occurs in different points of time for each individual egg. Cheers, Martje

  • @TheOfficialJoel
    @TheOfficialJoel6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Martje, I actually have two more birds that im raising, i used the female to hatch the eggs this time because i would be in school by the time they hatched. Anyways, normally i would keep the turning feature turned on at 10 degrees every hour even if they’re at different stages. But what you have to pay mind to is that a couple days before they hatch, they will make a pip on the shell. It’s important to make sure its not that humid in the incubator because they will drown inside the egg before they even hatch. Feel free to ask more questions

    i live in manhattan close to yonkers, i wouldnt mind using my incubator to test if itll work if youd like. the real thing to question is the fertilization of the egg. no way to know unless you try. and im sure the incubator will work because i can control the temperature settings on it but it should be the same temperature anyways for all avian species
