    We don’t do all that at my clinic. Just shave, wipe hair, alcohol the area, insert catheter, tape, and finally hook up to the bag that’s it.

  • @BurnsiesRVTVids
    @BurnsiesRVTVidsАй бұрын

    Every clinic will be different, the end goal is to ensure an aseptic area is present prior to placing the catheter. I would suggest a gross scrub be considered prior to the alcohol as alcohol won't have the ability to remove some of the gross material from the animal's skin. Thanks for watching!

    I was looking for a video to calm the fears of a client. Seeing the dog scuffed like that is upsetting. Vet for 29 years and I’ve never seen a dog scruffed like that.

    That's an interesting perspective and yes, there are definitely different ways to approach this hold. Quite often we'll even involve a third person to help hold the head if it's a honking noggin. But thanks you for watching and taking the time to add a comment

    Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. Freya my seven month old American Staffordshire stressed her tricep and through favoring it stressed her Ulnar carpal flexor. this manifested quite all of a sudden with her going lame on her left front limb. Because of your videos I was able to palpate, articulate ,and identify this with vet and set a course for treatment and recovery. without being able to learn about this I would've been totally in the dark. thank you so so much for helping take care of my baby girl, I owe you one Doc🫶🏼👑💪🏼✌🏼

    As for puppy’s not eating wel, my male now 8 years old was a fussy eater and didn’t eat well. His breeder was suggested goats milk. So he’s raised on mom’s milk and goats milk. 2021 we had a litter of two, my girl didn’t want to lay down so i had to help her and comfort her, her milk production started to decline and i was told the same by my vet, i had formula in the house in case of but because the boys where near their time of weening of she suggested to gif them that in their food. My dogs are raw feeders, they have a balanced diet of raw meat, organ meat, fruits and vegetables. Due to my male border collie’s reaction to salmon oil or other fatty fish they get krill in their foods too. I had made their feeding schedule and showed it to my vet. Both border collies are in flyball so they get as suggested by our vet pasta in their morning feed. Our boy turned 8 and is in super condition. Yes she did bloodwork on them.before every tournament year they get a sport check up, this year we planned a second litter and before that they both get e check up. They have a kind of kibble during the holidays when traveling with the campervan because we can’t put away such quantity of raw meat away. But it has high meat content, no grains or corn in it. Yes they still get fruits and vegetables on top. The pups had even been used to raw feeding. As a pet owner it’s good to keep learning how and what to feed, medical care (have done a first respons care for pets, and that included hart compression and how to stabilize breaks when on hikes, reducing blood loss too) all like for humans. Im a recognized small breeder in Belgium 🇧🇪

    it’s so funny that you use “F off” for efferent nerves, I use “F it, I’m walking” which helps me remember those are the nerves which stimulate your muscles to walk (therefore being the nerves your brain or CNS tell what to do)
