I am seeking to provide a "normal" person's view of various bowling equipment and topics. There's an abundance of videos from the professionals. They have tons of first hand experience with all kinds of equipment as well as years of building strong fundamentals and form. A lot of times, they have a level of power a lot of other bowler might not have.
I am still in the learning portion of my bowling journey. You'll find that perspective on screen here. My form is basic and often inconsistent. My speed and revs are low to moderate. My ability to adjust isn't as strong as I'd like it to be. That may mirror a lot of the challenges you face as a bowler. If so, I hope seeing me might give you a different perspective.
I am not on staff with any company so you'll see various brands appear on this channel!

How did this match up on that fresh house shot? The last asym pearl I liked was the Columbia Pure swing!
I think if your house is a more medium volume or if you struggle to clear the fronts on fresh it’s a great option. For me it’s a lot of ball on the fresh house shot and works best as that first ball into transition. A great piece I hope to get to throw more as the fall season starts back up. Thinking about doing a comparison to the Harsh Reality once I drill that this week.
Not a single strike on on the right hand side of the pocket, but it all counts as 10 in the pit. Congrats on the milestone! 🎉
Vibe is high “bang for your buck.” Great video.
It really is!
😮ppnomaglsonn😊😊
Not sure how to respond to that! :D
I'm liking the new format. Gives a better read on the ball seeing every shot. Commentary is getting a little better too. Keep working at it! 🎳
Thanks! It's a work in progress. I'm not stellar in front of a microphone but I hope to get there one day. Just trying to be as natural as possible.
Just picked up that Hybrid RAW Hammer to complement my Hammer BW Ghost Pearl. Trying to get it drilled this weekend.
Come back and let me know how you like it! My wife picked up the Black Teal Purple Pearl and so far it looks really nice. Super controllable for her.
I got one have about 15 games on it dont like it but i am trying to play on fresh so yeah definitely a late block ball or for me it will be game three of league or when my knockout bruiser breaks down the shot and cant be played.
Yea I’ve used it on fresh at league but there are better choices for me out of the gate. Game 3 though, this thing sees it. Even through some carry down.
Question? Why are most bowling balls released in April/May? Leagues are over and people are playing golf up north, wouldn't it be better to market the balls in August/September as winter leagues are starting up?
Excellent question!!! Ball manufacturers release new stuff every month so April and May are only different in the types of balls that come out. I think a lot of mid/lower end pieces come out around now for summer leagues. They are a place where a lot of beginners get started. These types of balls are good for all kinds of bowlers of course but especially good for folks learning since they provide a nice balance of performance, control, and price.
@@bowlingwithbrent thanks I didn't think about the newbies and price points.
Happy to provide my perspective and grateful for the question!
The Raw's
They look pretty awesome. Which one do you wanna try? Or are you getting both???
Wonderful!
Glad you think so! Always fun to try something new!
I couldn't get the kinetic cobalt to work for me. It was way to lazy and had little use outside of burnt up conditions. I tried changing the surface with no results.
Interesting! It was my first HK22 ball and compared to what I had been throwing before I could really feel the difference. Of my top 6, it's the least used now, and the most likely to get displaced by one of the new releases coming out, but it's got a special place in my heart since it was my entry back into the 7 brands of Brunswick balls. Since I started bowling again around 2020 (took an 18 year break before that), I had only gotten Storm/Roto/900G balls. But since trying the Kinetic Cobalt and having immediate success with it, I've been snatching up B7 stuff exclusively this year. I think you're right though, even though the Kinetic Cobalt was a good match for me - it isn't a ball I see around a lot. And it got discontinued relatively quickly, so it must not have sold great. Have you checked out any other Track releases lately? The Theorem and Archetype Hybrid are both AMAZING.
@@bowlingwithbrent To be honest, I was kinda disappointed it didn't work so well for me as the Black Widow 2.0 was amazing. I am currently transitioning to a 2 3-bag setup for league. Either my Black Widow 3.0, GB5 and Effect or my other bag which will be a Gem, TNT Infused and X-Ray Hustle (waiting for the Gem and X-Ray to come in for the 16th). I've more or less bought ebonite/hammer my entire life but I love my TNT Infused on game 3 for some reason. So I'm actually trying some of Roto's balls out. I buy a lot of balls and try them out. Usually move on quick I didn't like the Kinetic Cobalt or the Dark Web Hybrid, but I love my Columbia Cuda Pearl but that ball is for when it's house shot not league pattern.
what's your opinion on the Retro RG Spare? Really been considering getting one lately
Ever thrown a Storm Mix? It’s the same ball with different labeling. A tiny bit of hook compared to plastic which I enjoy!
I apologize for the sucky microphone in this video! I'm working on getting an upgrade before too long. I will continue to work to improve the channel in terms of video and audio quality as well as the content I provide. If you've got great ideas for future content, bring it on!
Would like to see a video about your league bag, if possible? Thank you
Sure thing! Thanks for the idea!
@@bowlingwithbrent You're welcome
Love this ball
It has been a great one for me so far! Track Bowling does it again!
Letsss gooo
Yup! Everybody's gotta start somewhere! I'm really hoping this 2H experiment works out for her this summer :)
For real
She says... "I finally got a strike!"
What do you mean by differential?
Differential if you're going by the textbook definition is the delta between the minimum and maximum radius of gyration (RG) of the core. In practical terms, you can just think about it as the flare potential for the ball the core has. More flare = more fresh cover touching the lane on each rotation of the ball which means it will create more friction for the ball. This, in general, would mean more hook potential.
😂😂😂
Ngl based on the reviews so far, this ball isn't super versatile in that you have to keep it in front of you, or else don't bother using it
All depends on the condition and what you’re looking for. I specifically picked this one up because my Archetype Hybrid can be a bit much on the back end at certain times so having a smoother/control piece of similar overall strength will be nice. I can definitely see someone identifying it as more niche than other options though 👍🏻
I never throw any pins off the back wall. What a complete fluke of a shot.
Like you style, nice to see an average Joe like me throwing some of these balls. The pros make everything look good. On another note might not need the music
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll keep it in mind for future videos.
💘 *PromoSM*
