Even stranger is that the product placement wasn’t even officially sanctioned, most if not all of it wasn’t even used with permission albeit it technically falls under satire parody clause. Although if anything it kind of feels more shameless knowing they weren’t even paid to shill

I just realized... they named him Jack McCall... and he makes several calls... but can't speak... Yeah, I'm sure it sounded much funnier in their head, too.

I think this came out my freshman year of college and I've seen it more times than I care to admit. IMO Ricky and Larry's characters were supposed to be dumb and screwups and when you view the movie through that lens the acting isn't as bad. The plot isn't as dumb as you'd think....it's just poorly written. In fact Al Pacino's character points out how inherently dumb the plan was and how poor the execution was. I am curious to see that original cut.

If some people thought the BWP was real, those people could not have been very bright. I tried to watch the movie, and had to stop after a few minutes when I realized how dumb it was.,

Not true that Nancy Allen wanted to be killed off. In an interview she did on part 3, she said that she was surprised when she read the script for the first time that they were killing off Lewis. She never asked for this to happen. Not sure where you heard that from but it’s not correct.

The disdain for Costner in the comments section is both ridiculous and retarded. DWW is one of the great films of the 20th century and The Postman isn't even close but it didn't deserve the Razzies over Batman & Robin. Also, it's truly sad that people would rather go see existing IPs then pay money to see something original, especially something made with a helluva lot of passion & zero cynicism. Also, are we labelling EVERYTHING where someone who directs & stars in a movie a "vanity project" now? Seriously, Costner is doing this because of his love of a dying genre, nothing wrong with that AT ALL. He's a damn good actor & a fine director and people would rather pay to see cinematic junk food like Bad Boys 29? It's extremely disconcerting!

I really liked this movie until the next day... I actually thought about it and the plot holes are terrible. 1. He was a con artist till the end, never fully telling the truth to all the carriers. Ford Lincoln Mercury was the real hero in the movie but yet when the statue is revieled he is nowhere around nor does the statue depict him. Why have a baby in a post apocalypse era where food and nutrition is scarce. The woman went on about how much she loved her husband but yet leaves Costner a hair bow as a reminder of his load shooting getting her pregnant. This movie was way too predictable. After hour one you can actually predict with some degree of certainy what happens

A major element that adds doubt to the crediability of this being a "true account", is how it promotes the psudeoscientific theory of "Ancient Ailen Archeology", where it says that Ancient Summerian's language, culture, knowledge and religion etc, was the result of them coming into contact with the ailens, who they saw as "gods". It underminds the Summerian peoples achiements, and is rooted in eugenics and white supremacy. Seriously, look it up 😒

I recently watched the doc Electric Boogaloo, and Bo said in regards to Bolero that they only did it with Cannon Films because she was sick of the roles she got due to Blake Edwards' 10 and was told by a friend that if she and the creeper wanted to just make whatever, go with Golan and Globus. The irony after that, however, is that they also stole photos from her luggage to use as publicity stills without her knowledge. So fuck Cannon. Similarly, fuck John.

Blazing Saddles is the greatest comedy and the greatest satire of all time. It will not be topped. Not by idiocracy, or MASH, or Airplane or any other movie. it's the pinnacle of using comedy to embarrass and destroy all racist arguments and make the people who share those ideas look like the clowns they are.
