A modern equivalent of “And it came to pass” is when a child is telling a story. You’ll often hear “And then ….and then….and then….”

Here's a profound quote I'd like to share that moved me greatly. "The closer you are to God, the more you have the ability to see people from God's perspective. The more you understand them, the more you love them, even if they're doing bad things; it reflects that Christlike statement on the cross, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. It's this Divine compassion that becomes a part of us. We become less offended by people doing bad things or saying bad things or treating us poorly. Our prayer becomes increasingly "Oh bless (them)" THANK YOU BROTHER GRIFFIN! it's a KEEPER!

Did god tell them to wear the magic underwear on the plates, or did they come up with that later when they melted them down into scrap gold? Those fumes can be nasty

Matthew 22 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I’m gonna ware my garments thank you. It’s as if Christian’s who profess a belief in the Bible don’t read it.

I see many requests below for more episodes with the good Rabbi, I echo those and want to add too how much I enjoyed his calm and peaceful way of approaching Alma 17:1. I would love to ask Rabbi Joe why he has been keen to follow the Come Follow Me courses. I'm sure I could spend hours asking him follow on questions from that but let me just conclude by expressing my appreciation for the tremendous insight and wisdom he imparted.

The best description and analysis so far. Hats off to you Mr Rappleye. And, for the record, we don't see eye to eye on many things on the Book of Mormon, as I have become seriously...seriously skeptical, but in this video, you get kudos. So many other Mormon apologists and their audience were so suckered and fooled, but you weren't. That' entirely to your credit.

I think the reason Alma taught about the Priesthood to the people of Amonihah is that the Order of Nehor was a priesthood order, and the people thought that they had a legitimate authority of some kind. Alma was trying to teach them about the true reason and purpose for the priesthood as pointing to Christ. This priesthood started in the pre-existence and we received these great ordinations based on our obedience before we were born, as Alma taught. Verses 3-9 in chapter 13 are all talking about what happened in the pre-existence. I am not sure why you did not teach this. Also, we CAN enter into the rest of the Lord in this life - it is not just for us after death (Moroni 7:3).

I love these kinds of video, not so much to prove to my friends the Book of Mormon is true but seeing the possibly actual artifacts and places mean something to me. It is like visiting the Sacred Grove or visiting the Holy Land. I hope one day we can find and tell, "oh, this is where Captain Moroni has faught", "oh, this is waters of Mormon where Alma baptized the people".

I've watched Brother Griffin for years and appreciate his manner, knowledge, and devotion to the gospel but his presentations are getting too long. He has increased his lessons to over an hour and I feel he would be more effective if his sessions were more concise (45-50 minutes like Sunday School or college class).

That’s going way beyond what is written. Falling for the etymological fallacy too. Just “some people” suggesting something doesn’t make it true. Many atheists suggest that “the god of the Old Testament” is a mean and capricious god, while the (different) God of the New Testament is good and loving. That’s no more true just because lots of people seized on it and spread it like a meme.

When will our church members stop believing the lie that the Book of Mormon lands were in south and Central America?!!!! Everything Joseph Smith said about nephie lands were located in the U.S. Ohio River region. The Central and South American lie began with a missionary publishing a booklet claiming the newly discovered Aztec and mayan ruins were Book of Mormon peoples. It was not!!! Google: Where did the idea that the BOM occurred in Central America originate?
