@@familytravelforumThe Avalon was used in I Love Lucy , in the episode Hollywood at Last . I love to travel and I love to go to filming locations. When I was in Europe I visited the Roman Holiday filming locations , I have only been on The Universal Tour , when I was in Hollywood, I visited L.A. during the riots , so many things were closed . I would like to go on The Warner Bros VIP Tour , only if they let me get off the tram and see the house from Bewitched .I love to travel , I live near Niagara Falls , so when I do return to California , I have a list of at least 25 places I want to visit , from the old Hollywood Palace to The Bat Cave , the lake from Andy Griffith , Malibu where they filmed The Rockford Files and too many places to mention. If and when I return to England I am going to visit The Beatles Hard Day's Night and Help filming locations in London, I also want to go to Wales and visit Potrmereion it is where the tv show The Prisoner was shot . I have crossed Abbey Rd in London and walked down Penny Lane in Liverpool. What I like to collect are key chains , of the places I have visited and hang them on my Christmas tree as ornaments so I can show off and I also like to photo copy stickers of the places I have visited and tape them to my suitcase , it is cheaper to copy the stickers ,than buying the stickers ,I learned my lesson . I recall being at the train station in Liverpool and a man looked at my suitcase and commented on my suitcase and all the places that I had visited, I felt so proud , it was worth it . What I find sad is people in Europe that have never left their country , it is sad because everything is so close , the trains are very fast and there are no more borders , but I know it still costs money .Please keep in touch , I want to do route 66 someday ,as well as so many other places .

@@Jay-vr9ir Hi Joseph, I love the movies too and they add so much to a destination. I like it when you have the film's story to add to the local stories being told. I think about the Harry Potter destinations in the U.K. Without these blockbuster films, we would not be aware of so many beautiful landscapes and unusual corners in London and beyond. I have not been to Abbey Road or Penny Lane but I do have the clubs in Hamburg like Indraklub and other Reeperbahn locations where they first played on my list as Beatles sites. When Hollywood reopens, I think you will enjoy the Warner Bros VIP Tour, they do a very good job. The Universal Studios tour has changed a lot since I first went so that it's more of a "ride" now than a studio tour. So many places to experience! You are lucky that you live in Niagara Falls where so many things have been filmed. And thank you for telling me about the Avalon, that makes it even more fun to stay there the next time I go to California. Hoping you get to Route 66 soon!

I don't think so. Unlike some nearby areas, Pine Island does not have big sand beaches. The water is fine for swimming but the coast is mainly recreational, for fishing and watersports. That keeps the beach lovers away and prices relatively low. Good luck finding something!

This is everything you need to know from snowplow to racing. Put your hands on the handlebars of a bicycle and point the front tire down the hill. Stand on the pedals of the bike and take your weight off one foot after the other and BALANCE on your arch. Balancing on one arch is the KEY to parallel turning and carving. When you do this, the skis know how to turn Wow, only two lines! Okay, three lines. To carve a turn, you are standing between two Barstools. Take your weight off your Right foot, lift your Right cheek and set in on the edge of the Right Barstool. Look at the angle of your leg.

I was last in the Grand Californian in 2019 spring and it had been refreshed, but not "modernized" or much changed, except for a new grab'n'go market. I think there's a lot of nostalgia about the Disneyland Hotel - last renovated in 2011 - and there's been a lot of talk about a big overhaul of Paradise Pier. Sadly, when I was there, all the DL rooms were sold out and I could not get in to shoot any videos. Will update as soon as I get news!

  • @familytravelforum

Hi @G B I like both of them, both very pretty (Wyndham is newer and more modern), near each other and right on the beach. The rooms are somewhat bigger at the Hyatt and the pool is outdoors up on the 8th floor, so beautiful views and quieter than at the Wyndham, where it is on the ground floor on the path to the beach. Hyatt also has supervised kids activities for ages 3+ which might come in handy, because even if your toddler is not yet 3, you can participate along with her/him. I don't think you'll be disappointed in either one. See this story for reviews of each of them: myfamilytravels.com/content/69108-favorite-clearwater-beach-family-resorts and have a great trip!

The food is not gourmet. The drinks are not premium. There is nothing special about this resort. Very basic! I asked to speak to the GM several times to discuss my concerns. Finally I spoke with Christian Rodriguez after our dialogue I than understood why this hotel had horrible service (poor management). Do not come here book somewhere else.

Hi James, it's all personal style. We thought the Cabana Bay was more fun, which is why we went to Universal in the first place. Loved the colors and big crowded pools; did not mind cafeteria dining. Having said that, some people would prefer Sapphire Falls because it's less noisy at the pool, has a good restaurant and bar on site, and the rooms are bigger and feel more upscale. It's also directly connected to the park by a water taxi, which is much more pleasant than waiting for the shuttle bus. Check the website because often, there's very little price difference.

Cabana Bay is cheaper, but you have to shop the deals that include park passes, because that's when they are often about the same.
