Oh my word. Thirty years on from the initial ceasefires it seems parts of Unionism/Loyalism have stood still , regressed even. Even the commentary shows the inward looking , "defenderist" mindset. "Homes for Locals" , "defending bonfires from undesirables" which are a blight on their areas and in other part of the UK would be called out for the anti-social vandalism that they are , not to mention the taxpayers money spent on health and safety and cleaning up etc which would be better used for the NHS . This hatred and yearning for the past has done nothing for working class protestants , nothing only poverty and heartbreak.
Ridiculous hyperbole, but thanks for watching
Imagine thinking supporting housing for local people on the housing waiting list is an issue. Imagine taking issue with calling someone "undesirable " who would attempt to destroy something others have created, an act of destruction which would be driven by bigotry and sectarianism. No sale here, your false outrage has no power
@@shadowmanstrolls811 It's not a false outrage at all , mate. It really isn't. It's pity. Pity that you feel the act of vandalising areas by building large pyres is an essential part of your Britishness. There's so much more open and inclusive aspects of your Britishness to celebrate and remember , NHS , Welfare state , The Chartists , Magna Carta , Trade Unions etc.
@jinkylarsson2869 it isn't really vandalising though. It's carried out on wasteland and is cleaned up afterwards. It's only one aspect of celebrating a historical event
Shaaaaaa had doe
Yaaaaaaaa
Well done that man great footage 🍻😎😎
Thanks Peter
👍did you have your Parachute with you 🤣🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 What a Stunt Brilliant
Mate I hate heights, fair play to the header lol
I really enjoyed the commentary on this one. Very knowledgeable and interesting. An hour later you'd have passed me walking along Cambria St. Aye, local homes for local people, absolutely!
*Cambria
Cambrai, even. 😊
Cheers mate, saved me typing up street names later lol 👍
They shut down two police stations - one towards Shaftesbury square and the other at the top of the Ormeau Road. The closest one is Lisburn Road now. That had a huge impact. Another point not covered in this video - the gardens at the Ulster Museum had Victorian era public urinals which became a notorious g@y cruising spot in the 80’s and so it was shut down. Belfast city centre was always awash with council estate drifters and it was only the security forces on foot patrol that kept the place civil with arrests, stop and search. What’s happening now is just what happens with zero/ minimal policing. They can harp on about the NCA and MI5 but neither of those organisations give a fig about the lay person going about their everyday business.
I don't agree with that. I've been frequenting Belfast city centre since the 80s. Take botanic for example, people knew how to behave, we didn't need cops patrolling to tell us not to act the maggot. We have cctv now which we didn't have back in the 80s/90s as well. Culture and society has deteriorated, add in an influx of young migrant men who hate our culture and history and you have a toxic mix. The gays don't need to cruise any more, anything goes
My granda Hugh Graham & granny Jesse lived on the Shankill / Bell Close for many a year. Cousins are still up that way. Nice watch 🙌🏼
Thanks for watching Barry
Just watching your driving tour of the Shankill Road and thinking of that old man video and that kid saying What you doing hoking in them bins lol lol class m8

What in God's name are you showcasing. What an awful place.
I film the good, the bad and the ugly...and the really ugly, like that dander around the immigrant majority Botanic area. As for this video, quite a lot of areas covered, including middle class areas (as one can assume you are referring to the working class areas as "awful"). All subjective really and I (and many others) don't consider most of what was filmed "awful". I often criticise what has been allowed to happen to Belfast including parts of the city centre. Watch or don't, up to you, but I will relentlessly pump these out. In God's name, amen 🙏
Is there a more insecure place in the whole world ? Like a mongrel dog marking their territory with flegs. 😂😂😂
This is the music police, hand over the title of that track NOW!
😂 that is "Hackers" by the legend that is Karl Casey @whitebataudio
I do this drive at least twice a week to visit my elderly mum...and yet im still watching.
@natmakepeace thanks for watching, good on you, too many people rarely see their elderly parents 👍
From one KZreadr to another am subscribed m8
@@GAZA2492 cheers mate, subbed back
How can you use the radio channel on your KZread channel m8
@GAZA2492 not sure how it works, but I think because it's so low and drowned out by the noise of the engine and windows down- sort of incidental to the video if you know what I mean
I would like you to drive around Ballymena and go to rowallane drive and the doury road
@ReeceRealeighton-pc4dq on my to do list
All the drooks are in the skies with the german owned brit airlines deploying sulphates to keep the grey wet clouds rolling in. Exeter geoengineering department get 4 million pound funding by the departent of energy to cloud seed uk and irealnd so you get your gas and elect on during the summer.

I think so mate , will hopefully take a spin up for the finished article 🙏
@shadowmanstrolls811 have U seen the rides now?
@Josie_Flowers mate was up.earlier, was mentioning. Traffic queued way back 😃
Yh that would be so cool! Last year someone had there hen du in it!!!
Great drive video again capturing these very familiar streets/roads in North Belfast where I live and work. Class!
Cheers Paul, appreciate it 👍
Hello! We're impressed by your video and would like to feature it in our project on our social networks. Can we use it? We'll make sure to credit you properly
Yes, no problem
@@shadowmanstrolls811 Thanks!
I was in this area recently and was shocked how grotty it has become, Bradbury Place, Great Victoria Street particularly so. Not the place it used to be.😢
In the 80s/90s it was a fantastic place to be. Now it's filled with young foreign men, graffiti riddled buildings and empty units
Lower Shankill looks so bad. No flags, no bunting, no celebrations. Sort it out guys!
The Shankill has been demolished too. It looks nothing like when i was a kid.
Aye changed times, there has been some regeneration down a lot of the streets, though more needed
Can you drive around Ballymena and go to rowallane drive and the doury road next week
I'll go round there next time I'm up, hopefully soon
Great video would you be able to do a driving tour of Shankill/Woodvale streets these videos remind me of home 🇬🇧 have a nice summer!
Thanks very much for the kind words mate. Yep, I've actually planned that tour early morning next week !
@@shadowmanstrolls811 Cheers will be looking forward to it 👍
when you came out of monkstown onto the doagh rd that junction is one i dont do anymore because arthritis in my neck wont let me turn to watch for traffic , i take the wee lane beside the school 😅👍
@@colingillespie1560 the one takes you out bottom of ballyduff? Sorry to hear about the arthritis mate
I wish rush hour was that smooth.
Very light traffic. Many times I’ve done that journey, bumper to bumper the whole way up there. It can be a nightmare especially the run up to Christmas, no matter what way you go, you’d be stuck. 👍
Yeah, suppose I got off light on this journey! 👍
Wouldn't walk around there at night
Troubles ended back in the 90's and still a stone dead dump. Best bit was when you walked into Sandy Row and said made a quick turn around lol Sandy Row? NOPE! 😂
Interesting little trip through Millhouse Village. Hardly a soul about. On a warm sunny day like that you'd think everyone would be out and about and there'd lots of kids running about from dawn to dusk. How things have changed. More like Omega man or I am Legend. I guess the less upmarket estates are still more 'vibrant'...tbh I love that emptiness and the almost post-apocolyptc stillness of places like Millhouse. ..Just a thought. Great vid again by the way.
That's a great take on it, I get what you mean re the post apocalyptic vibes- I should have put some synthwave backing to that one 😀. Thanks for watching friend 👍
Can you drive around Ballymena and go to rowallane drive and the doury road
Yes, will do next time I'm in Ballymena 👌
There's no such thing as cathedral quarter! It will be forever known as the half bap. Great community of strong hard working people of all hues and of course little Italy. Let's not white wash it's history. 🙂
Long gone sadly, but happy to reference that in future
Can you do a drive around Ballymena and go to rowallane and the doury road
The whole vibrancy of the Lisburn Road changes once you go past the Tesco, it become more grimy and Tates Avenue is like the third world, pretty obvious why that is, greedy landlords with HMO packing dozen exploited people into 2 and 3 bed terrace properties and charging the Home Office £2-3k a month
Very true, sadly
So much of the Lisburn rd is being demolished
The rich BT9ers need apartments to buy their children.
Being from dublin i be very dubious about visiting belfast i dont like the idea of flags seperating parts of the city and then the walls seperating it😕
Honestly wouldn't let it put you off friend, the interface areas are now tourist hubs, many come from the south 👍
@@shadowmanstrolls811 good to hear hopefully things up their move forward all the time and not backwards in time🙂👍
I notice the shops dont open too early 🤫
Yep!
I think all the flags on poles and houseing make belfast very threating looking😕
I feel the same abt the Pride flags 🌈 ....Cultural identity ...freely available to some ...denied to others, through ill informed Scaremongering ....
Old day 😮
6.40 you passed the road down to my old high school 9.15 you were close to were i was born and raised ah the good Old Days 👍
Some memories for you mate. Was that orangefield?
@@shadowmanstrolls811 it sure was , back in the day 1200 boys went to the school and 800 girls in a school beside the boys , now both are gone and the plans are to have an irish language mobile school on the site 🤔
Ah man, that is sad, too many of these schools gone by the wayside over last few few decades

Hello Shadowman NI, may I feature it? I will credit you on-screen and provide a link back. Any updates? Where did this happened? Thanks
Certainly, fire away. This was Saturday evening at East Bridge Street, not sure of outcome but the could see the young driver being pulled over in my rear view mirror
Enjoy these videos but for the unitiated could we have your dulcet tones letting us know what district youre entering and leaving...
Certainly an idea, or even pop the info on screen. Thanks for watching 👍
I would like you to do a drive around Ballymena and go to rowallane drive and the doury road
Will do my best 👌
For some reason I missed this one when you uploaded it. I must have been busy with other things at the time but I'm glad I eventually got to see it . I love the town and it was a great wee video tour of the place.
Thanks very much mate, aye, it's oft maligned but I like it and there's many worse places in NI 👍
@@shadowmanstrolls811 Totally agree. Perhaps the negative appraisals of the town are the very things that are protecting it from what's messing up some of the other great towns around the country. Warts and all it's a great place. Cheers!
I see the people still caint live with one another in belfast with the vast walls seperating the people😮
Still a certain need I suppose , but a lot of them are now open whereas they had to be completely closed for years. Progress I suppose
The walls seperating the city look horendous and appalling 😮
4:18 wow, what a complete surprise to see that same Honda there blocking traffic. Too much to ask that they use the layby 10 seconds walk behind them?
