After living 5+ years aboard our 37ft sailboat. We traveled from Florida through out the Caribbean. Now we have found ourselves at a NEW ADVENTURE. We bought our DREAM ABANDONED PROPERTY in the Rainforest! Follow along as we fix our land up to be come an Off-grid Homestead.

Reading the comments by tile people will be fun. I have never done herring bone pattern before, So far it looks great. I'm just praying you have used the time to clean the thinset out of the gout lines. Oh and I'm hope I'm the first to say you put the knee pads on upside down,

This fence getting sexy! Matt? Do you first do the job, then watch the video how? Where is the plastic mallet for the tiles? (there are yellow, red, blue, green tools. Next time you deal with mold .. We use jomax and 1 cup of bleach in a garden sprayer
hey matt - couldn't help but notice that during the monkey portion of the video it seemed like you were having problems with your new ring - heads up - i found out the hard way that can get you in trouble - apparently it has negative conotations in "body language" - don't be like me - love what you're doing with the place !
Seal travertine before you grout our you will regret it.
It will look handsome, a definite decorative asset to your entrance. I noticed your tools were plugged into 110V power yet your video says you are off grid. Do you have a generator for your own home grid power?
I think you did fine with the tiling. This.was practice for the bigger tile in the house. Buy better kneepads when tiling the new house.The kneepads with gel pads. Plus use the 12 inch or larger tile. Take care.

Don't do that sking without a life jacket as strong as current was..you go under get caught bt tree branch..also use a safety rope to waist tied to tree..you slip let go you don't have time to react

Prime the concrete first
I think the grout should match the color of the door and the fencing. A darker brown would contrast the off white tile very well. Plus, the darker grout will be easier to maintain than a off white grout. Remember, the area around your entranceway is not exactly dirt and mud free. The tile and grout is going to get dirty. Maintaining an off-white grout will be very difficult. Make it easy on yourselves, go with grout color that matches the color of the door. Otherwise, the project will look all washed out. Like a house, if the exterior of the house is white, you don't paints the trim white too. Good luck. Alan from NC

For the river surfing, a kiteboard harness would make it a lot more comfortable on your back. Just hook the tree rope under the harness hook at your waist, lay back your shoulders and ride!
If you have to get white stain it with cold tea
that darker grey will absolutely lighten up once it dries. Look at the grout once it dries and see if it might work.Cheers from San Diego!!

What part of the island are you guys in,, east west north or south... my buddy lives by tranquillo,, I guess that's how you spell it. He is a contractor too.. anyways I was trying to hook you two up,, I told him about you guys,, since you said you were thinking about having one to help you out.. anyways,, he might be too far away from y'all.
We dove out at Desecheo Island AKA nuclear monkey island. The island was used for naval military target and later they put the monkeys there as a test to see if they could survive since there is no source of drinking water. Not only did they survive they thrived, they found a root that holds a lot of ground water so they just eat the root. They are known to be hostile to humans so no trespassing means no trespassing, well that and the chance of unexploded ordinances. Beautiful dive site tho....
