I watched this documentary after watching the one they did for the first game it is uncanny how this feels like a sequel to that first documentary. It's also funny how they said at the end that the first Last of Us was made by Crunch, which was a good thing. This documentary sounded how when taken to fair chunch nearly ruined this game and created a toxic work environment.

People who think that joel's death caused the downfall are by far the loudest. as for the other problems, i ain't that the game is 100 percent perfect and has its flaws, while it is my favourite game i still understand certain things that it did wrong, no game is perfect after all.

Because we're not discussing the merits of the game, we're getting to the root if you actually have seen this with your own eyes, or whether this is just a figment of your imagination.

@@LongLiveMao That's not a critic. *Critics* were pointing out the myriad flaws, some of which explicitly stated that the story isn't bad *because* Joel died, but the circumstances surrounding it, as though to pre-empt your shared delusion. So now we've shown you are not accurately assessing reality. If you start to have feelings of self harm or harm towards others, seek emergency help. You may also want to seek medical attention if this mental disorder is a symptom of something physical.
This game has impacted my life in so many different ways that it's probably hard to predict how my life would me without this game. I still listen to it's music from time to time and it still remains fresh in my mind. It's almost like no time has passed since it's release. The difficult part is the acknowledgement of the fact that I haven't really played the game in real life. Don't get me wrong, I do want to play both games and definitely the third part whenever it comes down the road. I guess we all are waiting for it. Until then, it's one of my wishes that I buy a PS5 once I get a good job. To the team at Naughty Dog, you guys have been an inspiration for 4 years. Watching this documentary made me realise all that you have gone through, and thus I can say that I'm happy even if part 3 doesn't come out soon. Just enjoy life, be around your families and thank you for this gift you gave to the world.

TLOU2 was not a planned sequel, it was just a do-over of the first game meant to launchpad a franchise centering on Abby. Due to poor sales performance and audience reception, Sony will not greenlight a new Abby game. Because Neil Druckmann is an incompetent, petty little failure of a writer, he can't write a new story focusing on new characters or Joel or Ellie. So there's no plans to make a Part 3 that Sony will bankroll, and Neil Druckmann already has experience in being a failed writer without the backing of a major corporation, so there won't be an independently funded sequel.

@@dokumaru8224 The sales numbers vs production budget (Not including marketing) were pretty infamously shared around which shows the poor sales reception, the overwhelming negative user reception is almost impossible to not verify. Neil Druckmann just reusing a rejected pitch for the first game comes from his own mouth before TLOU2 was conceptualized. You can go to the Grounded 1 documentary, artbook, interviews regarding development of the first game, or various podcasts he guest starred in. Basically you would have had to actively keep your fingers off the pulse of production to not get this, it's surface level. As for him being a failure of a writer, *you* can actually prove that: You've never heard of A Second Chance at Sarah, but you have heard of The Last of Us Part 2. A licensed property elevates his bad writing from being totally unknown to the point you can't even pirate it to something people confuse with well written.

Y’all could totally make a online version of your next game and have it be a open world come and go as you please style game and when people want to goto their safe houses they just goto a storm drain or ya know etc. y’all already have amazing crafting in the game, looting, the mp in LOU was totally awesome, you have the perfect zombies!! Y’all could literally grab a whole massive audience that was completely disappointed by TDB and people would know y’all are making a legit and totally awesome game.. just saying

They can't. They had two massive exoduses of their team, and have slowly been replacing them with people who don't have the skills to make a new game, especially not an online game. Doesn't help that their last major MP dev got fired for being a predator, so that puts a hard stop to any MP endeavors. They're in the same boat as Bioware was after Anthem, only they're way overspending on remasters due to incompetent leadership so they're unable to recoup costs.

How's Spike Lee doing after he, on purpose, tried to ruin Oldboy? Neil Druckmann very publicly used TLOU2 as a 220 million dollar temper tantrum that he didn't get his way with the first game, is still ruining the company. The fact this might be the first time you're hearing the *entire* plot of TLOU2 is just his original pitch for the first game is why criticism is needed, and it hasn't been pushed far enough. Doesn't help that he told people with his game "It's okay to threaten people. You're like Abby! You can harm people and so long as you're nice to others, it's fine." Because, surprisingly, fans of TLOU2 (not Naughty Dog or the first game) showed that was their reasoning for that.

ellies stories is not done tlous part 2 was a fucking masterpiece and i think the best game of all time its just a second part of a a multi act series i think neil and the crew need full creative control with a fatttttt check and TIME cause thats the most important thing for these games
Yes, yes it is done. The entire idea behind TLOU2 was to do The Last of Us the way Neil Druckmann wanted, it's very publicly known to just be recycled plot that was rejected from the first game because it didn't make sense. Even without knowing the behind-the-scenes details, the game's very obviously trying to pivot to be about Abby. The only way it could've been more obvious is if Abby *literally* stole a torch away from Ellie and Joel.
@@crazyinsane500 idk abt obv i loved the game and didt tell i played the first shit ton cause my dad got it the day of release and then he ddnt like it so i played it and loved it i remember so much of my reactions then i saved what at the time felt like a shit ton for the remaster but that was even better let alone the hour played on multiplayer then i spent years waiting for 2 and then we got the og e3 trailer even in that you couldn't tell and i stayed off so many social medias for months when the leaks happened and even then played it and couldn't tell
