    Probably not a good idea to use your breath to clean a camera lens glass as it can cause condensation to build up on the inside if the lens is not well sealed and also trigger fungus

    Back to re-watch this one, again, for old time’s sake, and this time, leave a “Like.” I ended up skipping the D810, and bought a D5 and a D850, in 2018, when my wife and I both upgraded much of our Nikon equipment. (She got a D850, and then a Z6.)

    As getting a sharper image will be determined too by the lens, in case of using high quality glass you'll preferably benefit from the colour accuracy and slight better low light ISO of the 5Ds.

    My main problem with live bands is the post processing. Usually the photos are really dark (my main phocus is on Metal-Bands - Grindcore, Blackmetal etc.). I think my photos are not bad at all but when it comes to processing I have know spectacular ideas and everything seems "the same". But I also couldn't find any videos about that.

  • @Desparter94
    @Desparter948 ай бұрын

    Try out different focal lengths, recently I have loved to shoot with an ultra wide angle to get the crowd/band interaction in at the same time. If your pictures are too dark, try pushing your ISO even higher and counter with modern AI technology like DxO PureRaw3 or the lightroom built in AI denoiser. These work wonders on noisy images!

  • @WillieTheAutomaton
    @WillieTheAutomaton3 ай бұрын

    Whats the F stop / Aperture on your lens? You absolutely need something low like an f/2.8 or f/1.4 in order to shoot low light like that. Outside of that, running an ISO between 1600 to 6400 will help, but can also make the photos grainy. If you decide to get a lens, make sure it's either a prime lens (prime lens don't zoom, so they tend to be cheaper) or a fixed lens, which means the lens has only one option for it's f stop. If your lens says something like f/2.8-5.0 then it's most likely changing the f stop to a higher value causing your photos to be dark.

    That sensor loupe can not focus on both the mirror and the sensor. I think it's designed for the sensor. Breathing on a lens is ok if you must do it in the field.

    Wait for 15 years Nikon Z8 cameras still do not have flip screen to vary-angle selfies, body size and weight are big and heavy, Canon vari angle flip screen attracted many buyers and occupied more than 50% sales, this is why Canon selling is three times more than Nikon camera, tilt screen are not favoriting tor many photographers, I have to change to Canon for R6II camera which is lighter and have vary-angle flip screen

    Band gig photography etiquette... shoot only on the first 3 songs of the 1st set. 😂

  • @WillieTheAutomaton
    @WillieTheAutomaton3 ай бұрын

    Not etiquette, but literally a requirement for most venues / shows. 3 songs of the set in the photo pit, after that they want you out. You can take pictures around the venue, just stay low and out of peoples way. You can get away with doing whole sets at some places, I managed to be able to stay in the photo pit at a local place while shooting a show last year, however I was always ducked down and out of the viewers way.

    Dear Hollie, today I found some very interesting videos with great photo-ideas from you. It's great to realize them with very simple things and without expensive studio-equipement. The first video from you was the video with nd-filters with I found a few years ago. Please go on with your creative photo-ideas in future. Alle the best for you. best regards, Michael from Germany

    I think the only thing I might do differently is at 7:00 where you're cloning in the right sleeve, I'd copy the left sleeve on to a new layer, flip it horizontally, rotate, perspective (if elements has the perspective tool?) and blend it in.

    I have a large number of 3" plate glass B&W slides that my grandfather shot pre-WW1. Will the same technique be suitable as for 35mm colour, and what is the best cleaning solution. I am reluctant to experiment for fear of damaging the image.
