We did that very thing to our hunting land. It had been in MFL Open for years, with little consequence. Then with the advent of hunting and mapping aps, suddenly this Open classification became very PUBLIC. It kind of spooked us on how many calls we were getting and from how far away. it was simple to change the MFL classification to Closed, and the property taxes remain very low. We like MFL because the plan keeps our forests healthy, and it has significant property tax savings
