I think Novix totally missed the mark with this thing.
The open shot is still to this day my favorite climber i have mine wrapped in silent strips with an xop backpack and a bow holder with 2 alpine ridge debree holders i replaced the seat with hazmore net its quite sturdy pretty light and very comfortable im 6 foot and 240lbs and id recommend this stand to any bow hunter
@@NastyN8thegreat2 it’s certainly one of the top ones on the market rn!
Its intended to sit on the seat & face / straddle the tree to take load off your saddle and rest ya legs and u can sit facing away but its nota hang on stand its a hybrid saddle platform ment for u to face the tree and stay hidden behind tree just like any other saddle platforms and its not ment to sit and face away from tree really ... Check out the RUT ROOST , SEAT FOR SADDLE HUNTING AND U WILL UNDERSTAND...
@@Crayz919 if that’s what it’s for then I don’t like it… I will say that’s not what they said it was for at the ATA
@@Crayz919 “atonly 8 pounds, the Raider Hybrid Treestand is the ultimate mobile hunting setup when you can't decide between the saddle and the treestand.” That’s directly from their website…
If that seat was wider. It would the perfect mobile stand. / platform.i like it. But i wouldnt buy it myslef. Since im not much of a mobile hunter. I run the millenium monster 150. Its the best stand for me.
seems like it is pretty heavy for a hybrid now that some are sub 6lbs and full hang on stands are at the weight of this thing.
Gotta stop watching your vids...you make me want to spend money...🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Good review. Looks like a good option for both saddle and lock on. The other option I'm suprised you didn't touch on was, using for sadle, can use that seat in front of you to sit on too not just as a knee rest. All in all, good review. Love watching your reviews and vids. Seasons just around the corner.
@@mathewluna3361 hahah right! Thanks for watching buddy!
Think my fat tail and that seat definitely wouldn’t get along.
Awesome video man, I could feel that excitement! Good luck in ‘24🏹🦌
@@onemoreoutdoors1430 thank you!
Did XOP do away with the light climber they were coming out with?
@@RJ08t11 no sir, January
Alex is the best hog hunter I know and probably the best all round hunter I know
Will ALL their stands be able to use the SETI ?
Hey Clifton, I know this video is a year old but if you see this - Would a hang on stand or a large platform fit down in the back of that? Just thinking it might work as a good lightweight run and gun set up if you could carry a stand in it
@@tonymau2925 I do not think a hang on Stan 👍 would fit but maybe a large platform would
@@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors Thank you!
Ill be honest, i switched to a fanny pack and ditched the bag. Way more freedom of movement and lighter.
@@robertwaldmann4577 I see a lot of guys going that way, or some type of hybrid in between the two
If you are able to get your hands on a Waldrop pac seat I’d love to hear your thoughts! I think it’s the best ground hunting seat out there
I had that pack for a few years and enjoyed it. Upgraded to the Eberlestock X2 and love it. Found on sale and happy about it.
Do they have it in bottom land for our leprechaun buddy?
@@JessieBradford-cg3dy I wish they did haha
Man I just had a Complete XOP Saddle, platform and X2 sticks delivered last week based on your review. Now This!!!! Momma’s not gonna have anything left to get me for Christmas this year. Thanks for All the stout put into your reviews
@@captainjoesanglingadventur4894 haha I love it! And thank you!
I’m here ✅✅
Good looking early season pack. I’d like about another fanny pack sized pouch on bottom and waist band for adding a jacket/hoodie or rain gear for late season. Maybe zip-on/off lower as one pack two season combo.
@@lugnutzz75 I love these kind of comments because trust me I can’t speak for all companies, but I do know the guys at Xop research comments on videos of their gear
Clifton, been watching you for awhile. Finally subscribed. There’s not another channel that reviews stands, and gear like you. Really like your channel, man. BTW, as a vet, when you do get out, you will grow some facial hair! God bless, bro!
@@ericrock13 man thank you for watching! And I don’t know about the facial hair. My wife hates facial hair lol thank you for your service.
Great pack!
@@ericcarroll8168 you won’t beat it for the money!

$99 bucks - I’m in. The improvements needed are pennies on the dollar for $99.
That stinky shirt still gonna be out there with you though.
What's the story with the xop climber ?
Doesnt anyone read the owners manual? This is why stuff goes bad and the next video is “tenpoint sucks.” You must backwind after hearing the click!!!
Goes outta state spends hundreds of dollars, burns his buck tag on a yearlin 3pt then had to watch the bigger buck all even prancing all under his tree 😂 smh
Man U sure do miss a lot from the few videos I’ve watched, ur like 30percent hit 70 miss ! This is with Mathews and pse flagship bows
@@user-sp9hy8tq4j I try real hard
What are you doing in Alabama is there not any deer where you live ??. If not you need to move to another state.
More and bigger bucks where he lives
I was trying to decide between this and a bowtech SS. This bow was almost as smooth of a draw and cost $1,085 less than the bowtech.. So umm.. yeah I bought the bear. My small buck didn’t seem to mind that he was tagged with a Bear
@@user-ec4lv6or8s I like it
A really cheap and light way to break it up a bit is camo net. I have like a 3x3 metre piece of net I got for $20 bucks on Amazon. I cut slit from the middle to one edge. I plonk the chair blind down, open the big window at the front and drape it over the back then front, oriented so the slit lies down the middle of the front. This allows me to brush it aside from the port hole to take a shot. This makes this little set-up blend in like crazy. I've had Sambar deer, which are notoriously wary animals, walk right past me when set like this.
This guy just has the chill football coach vide
I hate this stand i paid 320 bucks to have a stand with a seat almost as long as the plateform poor design the seat is horrible i wna cut 4 inchs at least off the length a saddle guy doesnt want a 9 lb plateform either fyi this was a bad novix product pretty disapointed honestly
Great review, got one thnx for making my decision for me. Lookn forward to using it this fall & go after one of my hit list on public lands here in WI

Awesome review, man! I got these boots 2.5 years ago at Fort Thompson when I worked there and have nothing but good things to say about them. I too hunt/scout/fish/hike quite a bit and have never had an issue. Water proofing is still good along with the tread and support. Just did an 8 mile hike with a pack through rough terrain 3 days ago and the boots held strong the whole time. There’s no telling how many miles are on them now. Keep it up, man!
@@alexoutdoors2211 man thank you! And thank you for watching! Mine are still holding up great as well!!
Like this! The only “negative” I see is the bottom doesn’t have the flip out extension for your feet. Like on my Viper SD.
@@bertnichols6335 agree!
That is a similar design to my Treewalker. It's too bad Treewalker went out of business when the owner died, I should have bought two. Removable bar across the front, built in footrest, net seat and not that silly hanging style seat that pinches your legs, and no straps needed to nest the top and bottom together, it is a press fit. If i were to ever buy a Summit it would be this or the open shot, but never a fixed bar across the front.
Could you do one on XOPs new saddle Mutant
@@TRD_Outdoors it’s coming!
