Jakab Co - Renovating Environments
Jakab Co - Renovating Environments
Hi! We're Reuben and Connie Jakab, owners of the Jakab Co where we are renovating environments physically, emotionally, and relationally. Is it possible to mix home reno's with mental health? We believe it is - and we're doing it! Reuben does our physical reno's, and Connie takes homes through our Design Your Home Program for relational and emotional wellness.
We are also renovating school environments by giving Administrators, Teachers, and Parents strategies to create a school that is connected and brave.
We're glad you're here! We hope you find our tools helpful to create the relationships you dream of.

Thank you. I needed this today. Excellent ideas throughout and I appreciate your honest and authentic humility. I need some of this intelligence disobedience with my inner creativity stirred by dissatisfaction. I’ve lost my joy due to shame. FU shame it’s time to take my life back.
YAS to this! Protect that joy. Keep being brave :)

To every parent struggling with finances..... DON'T talk about or even just verbally vent about you fear of paying for the bills. You can tell your kid no to buying things you can't afford but don't freakout each time you open bills in the mail or TELL THEM how much there medical expenses are!!!! Kids will internalize it and worry to the point of putting off issues that require a medical visit and get deep anxiety when they actually do need to talk to the doctor possibly even minimize the issue because of the fear of the bill. As a kid was diagnosed with a muscular skeletal issue that was mild but still required yearly visits to a specialist. Though my parent didn't always tell me about it directly they would yell "What they want 2 thousand dollars for that! Honey what the hell is that! Now they are threatening to take us to collections!!!" THAT STILL F's with me as an anxious adult. They now tell me to relax about things. It doesn't help to say much to them about the past so I usually don't. Your kids will internalize your financial issues if you complain about it around or to them. They are not your shrink or your bank, or your insurance company.... don't speak about that at all to them! You don't need to buy them crap they don't need but you can explain it a healthy way. When we would go to Dollar Tree as a kid I'd sheepishly ask if I could pick 1 thing. My one parent would be like sure but ask the other. So then I would muster up the courage to ask the other part feeling a bit of guilt that I'm going to cost them money. Looking back it wasn't a big deal to spend $1.05 once or twice a month on me but because I knew the financial system I felt really anxious about just asking for that. It was never intentional but really was just another thing that can happen with lower class family who can't afford therapy and don't think they are "bad enough" even if they could afford it. This was all in the early 2000's.
jessii vee?
Is anyone gonna talk about the skin walker in the tunnel coming for his pret?
Hey Connie, what are the specific paint colours you used?
I can't remember as the green was 17 years ago and the light blue was 7 years ago... I should have kept the name.
@@thejakabco no worries. We've been pondering some repaints in our home.

Great video, song name please?
Very excited to follow your journey! Love you, Connie!
Great piece of inspiration. I’ve learned this when I came back from my travel, to home - a familiar place where I own my presence and show up each day as a creator of what each day will look like. My mantra when housekeeping gets to me - manual labor never killed anyone!
???????
WOW
Your video means a lot thank you
What a beautiful visual of the climb and freedom! Love love it!
Love you, love your message!!!
Very compelling, and excellently expressed. So glad to finally find these stories and wish you well. Thrive in knowing your identity is dignity, value and love....you are so very loved by a God who is for you, to succeed and not to harm.🙏❤💜
Laura, you are an amazing, strong, beautiful woman of God. Thank you for sharing your journey, it is devastating and beautiful. Be blessed My Friend! God is good, all the time.
Laura, you are kind and courageous in your vulnerability! So many of us have carried a false image of who we are, until Freedom comes to fight for us and break off those lies! SO thankful for the freedom that came into your life and mine, and many! May we find ways to help others make their own Freedom Marches! ♥️
Laura, you are kind and courageous in your vulnerability! So many of us have laboured under a false image of ourselves - so contrary to what and who we truly are! As we become more and more free, may we find ways to share that freedom with others! ♥️
Laura, you are kind and courageous in your vulnerability! So many of us have been the walking wounded, seeing an ugly misfit image in the mirror - until our healing begins to come. During my school years, I tried to be invisible because I felt like such a misfit. Now I see how very many people labour under those same lies - May we help others to get free! ♥️
Laura, you are courageous and kind in your vulnerability! My childhood wasn’t like yours, but it was a life where, like you, the self-image that I used to see in the mirror was of a misfit who was ‘less than’ everyone else. It’s truly amazing to come to that place of more and more knowing who you truly are, and getting free from the lies! Thank-you for sharing! ♥️
Great job, Viola!
Thanks for sharing many of us struggle silently.
Great message Connie and well done Charlene!
