  My parents are very bad with this. I used to be until I had to move out of my first home, which I had inherited, along with everything inside. It was like living a nightmare everyday, until finally I broke. I decided if I can't use it now, I'll likely never use it. Now that I've had to move back with my parents, I'm trying to teach them through helping them declutter that open space also has value. They have a very large house, with very little space to live in. It's a tough process! Good luck!
