    When you have an army or pirates chasing you and you kill them to escape or save someone it's not murder. I'd classify it as war. Maybe not right but I don't think it's murder.

    But there are instances where it's clearly not self defense, like killing guards in Uncharted 4, and about all the other times he killed people, I think a sane person would get the hell out of there after the first shooting happens.. but he's not bothered in the slightest by the fact that he's killing thousands of people, he's just like meh, another boring day :)) so sure, let's say the first time it happens, it's justified to defend himself, but after, he is guilty, no one forced him to keep putting himself in those situations

  • @micahbelliston1679
    @micahbelliston16792 жыл бұрын

    To my my experience of playing the games, Nathan Drake didn’t upfront go and kill all these guys. It was self defense against all those guys. If you played the fourth game especially, he never wants to kill people if he doesn’t have to. So, I think your analysis is wrong there. Remember when Nathan stops Sam from shooting Nadine. You say Nathan doesn’t have empathy, or remorse, remember he always tries to help the enemies from the worst of themselves. I do think that psychopath is thrown around too much, and not sure Nathan Drake fits all those criteria’s. I think Nathan is complex, morally speaking. He grew up with no parents, had bad examples around him (they were morally complex as well).

    Self defence is when you're just minding your own business and some random guy tries to kill you but you kill him first, Nathan on the hand is in those situations because he's trying to steal treasures that don't belong to him.(except in the 4th where he thinks he's just helping Sam.)

  • @ericjoel5363

    @@kouroshrm7it's part of the job, those treasures no longer have an owner, that's his profession, and when in those situations, it's never been part of his initial plan to run into those who without a doubt would want him dead. Kill or be killed is then always applied, an outlier would be in U4 when he knows the dangers ahead but pushed through to save his brother, after the lie is revealed, he is now once again in a kill or be killed position, but this time adding in the factor of actually saving his brother

    4:02-4:15 You say that while showing footage of Uncharted 4; the same game where Nathan didn't want to go out treasure hunting but instead opted to do it since Samuel (his brother that'd been gone for 15 years) was in danger, so that fails a bit. As for the prior games, I don't think Nathan ever actually wanted to fight all of those enemies. Many times throughout the series he notes on how he's so sick and tired of fighting people just for a taste of treasure, and it's literally the message of Uncharted 3. While he often does sound like he's having fun defeating them, that leads to yet another point which is that, well, it's kill or be killed. Nathan purely fights in self-defence, hell need I remind you how he refused to mow-down Lazarević in cold-blood in Uncharted 2? Or how in Uncharted 2 rather than killing the museum guards he instead opted to knock them out? Hell, why do you think that a lot of the time he's against bringing guns on his missions? Like in Uncharted 2 how he lashed-out at Flynn for bringing what looked like lethal weapons or in Uncharted 4 where he constantly reassured Samuel that they wouldn't need guns to pull-off the mission. 4:15-4:49 Please, just stop. First of all, Nathan lied to Elena because, well, what the shock did you expect him to do? Just allow his wife to embark on this dangerous journey once again just for the sake of saving someone that she wouldn't know crap about? He didn't lie to get his way, he lied because he was afraid he'd lose her again, and he almost did. Of course, yes, that was certainly a big mistake to just lie to her like that, but wellllll, we all make mistakes like that. Not psychopathic whatsoever. If he was, then he would've lied to Elena perhaps years before the events of Uncharted 4 even came into play. Also, once again, he didn't lie to go out killing a bunch of mercenaries with Samuel and Sullivan, he lied to find Avery's Treasure and save his brother, oblivious to the fact that Rafe and Nadine were also after it; it's pretty bad luck. Also, in the Madagascar drive-by he literally tells Sully if there's a way to convince Nadine to stop attacking them; that's toooootally a psychopathic thing to do. As for the name-change, I can't tell if this was a late April Fools video or if you just disregarded the story as a whole to prove your point. Nathan didn't fake his identity for the sake of justifying his obsession with seeking treasure (otherwise he wouldn't've literally searched for Shangri-La, the 7 Cities of Gold, etc.), he did because he began a life on the run, but definitely not for the reasons you're thinking of right now. Although he does seem to use Francis Drake as a scapegoat sometimes like how he wanted to find Iram of the Pillars, you're acting as though this kind of obsession isn't sparked every other time he searches for treasure. In Uncharted 4 he showed extreme enthusiasm and joy when discovering how the pirates died and literally finding all of their bodies, without mentioning Francis Drake once. You're really crapping on Nathan's character arc that was so apparent that I'm disappointed so many people missed it. 4:49-5:22 OK, this is a semi-good point. Nathan does have a nasty tendency for not planning things thoroughly, ahead of time, or even thinking things very through. But you're disregarding moments where he is careful, like in Golden Abyss (speaking of Golden Abyss, there was literally a moment where Nathan (after defeating Dante in a fist fight) held a knife to a dude's neck and he was ushering Nathan to stab him, but he refused to do so and in fact gave him a second chance) where he tells Sully not to jump a 20-foot gap but Sully ignores his request and jumps anyway (he broke his leg). As for the smoker thing, dude, you're seriously going to consider merit in a running gag of the series? That's not a good idea. It's usually not necessarily that Nathan doesn't think that well at times either, it's just moreso that bad luck hits him badly and shocks everything up. Like in Uncharted 4 when they planned a heist at the Rossi Estate and discovered that Rafe was there, or when they threw a heist at the Istanbul Museum but he was double-crossed by Flynn, etc. . There are times where his plans work out, like in Eye of Indra when he hid a gun under a cabinet for Rika (his partner at the time) to use, which ended-up working. So it's a semi-good point. 5:22-5:41 Ehh, this is a bit bad. I do like how you at least mentioned that Nathan did try diplomatically defeating Nadine than fighting her, but the points immediately get taken away when you state that he's usually quick to take action. What the shock would you have done in that situation? Try walking out and leaving her? Still try using gentle means? People that act without reason cannot be reasoned with, and that situation was no different. Plus he was in a hurry since they had stolen the cross and needed to meet up at an emergency rendezvous point. As for other confrontations he's entered, almost none of them are exactly his fault. In Uncharted 3, he was literally being surrounded by thieves that were forcing him to hand away a life-long valuable of his, and you're telling me that violence wouldn't've solved that issue? OK, Neville Chamberlain. 5:41-5:56 You do need to convince me better. Although he does bring his friends and practically family into the mix at times, again, he didn't EXPECT there to be a huge army trying to kill them. In Uncharted 3, you have an amazing point with that statement. But that was literally used for Nathan's character arc where by the end of the game he refused to use his friends anymore, so it's irrelevant. Also, for personal profit? While showing footage of Uncharted 4? ---___--- 5:56-6:12 I agree with that. 6:12- He killed those people out of self-defence for shock's sake. Also, LOL, almost doesn't even react? He literally lunged towards him and arched his shoulder and steadily aimed the M16 at him after he said that, which then afterwards he literally refused to shoot him in the end. WTH? I don't need to respond to the rest of the stuff you said since most of it I agree with, but just know that a ton of the stuff you said indirectly contradicted each other, so yeah.

    Not everytime he kills for selfing deffence. In Uncharted 2 he just goes for revenge after he is betrayed and start breaking distracted guard's necks in the jungle.😂😂😂 Why he didn't put them to sleep like he did with the museun guards instead of bteaking their goddamn necks (as Sully would say)?

    @@TheMrCHELL Yeah, I know. That’s when Nathan was too in on his head to the point where he (much like how he was in Uncharted 3) was blinded in the bigger picture. When he was talking to Elena he said how he doesn’t even care about the treasure and it’s to save Samuel, throughout the rest of the game after the Madagascar sequence he only looked for the treasure to save Samuel, etc. . So that’s not a good excuse as it disparages his arc, and it’s a flaw that’s shared with everyone besides just psychopaths. Bad excuse.

  • @dirtyfighters7751

    @@TheMrCHELL It wasn’t necessarily just for revenge I’d say. It was also to race them to finding Marco Polo’s lost fleet and beating them to it. LOL, if you were infiltrating a heavily-armed and secluded military camp ruled by a a tyrannical leader who’s pissed off NATO and committed several war crimes with his own men as well showing no remorse and if anything having fun doing their duties, then you’re justified for killing them. Don’t compare museum guards to illegal war criminals’ militias.

    The government might be preparing for a cashless society, but it was predated by the Bible. Already designed! If put into place, it just means our time is getting closer. Not worried about what is going to happen...just looking up and getting ready. Maybe worry about your friends and family who aren't ready instead of COVID and what is already designed to happen that you will not be stopping. While the devil is preparing people for the Anti-Christ, God is preparing people for the Rapture. I don’t know when the rapture will take place, but I do believe it could be soon. I also believe this is a time that God is giving us a chance to repent. We need to get the Gospel message out!!! Until the Good Lord calls me away from this world to go home, I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the True Lord and Savior. Despite the fact that I am human, and I fail a lot, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and that He rose from the dead on the third day. He loves us all dearly (far more than we deserve) and forgives our sins when we repent. Like in the time of Noah, when people ridiculed him of the upcoming storm. Not knowing it will be their final day, so will the coming of Christ be, it will be unexpected. His Word says: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Matthew 10:33 But whosoever
