I have shoe stores and I'm planning to make my own studio for shooting. But first I'll go in some course for that. Can you please tell which camera models are good for that kind of job and what camera lenses do I need?

You don't need a costly camera. I shoot on Sony now, but I used Canon when recording this tutorial. If you use the images for the web, only a crop sensor camera is more than enough. When it comes to lenses, I always prefer to use prime lenses with fixed focal lengths. If your studio is small, I will suggest anything from 16mm to 50mm. If you have more space, 90mm macro or 100mm macro is a very good option.

Totally agree,watching your video on my Benq BL2420PT close to 3 years after purchasing for Image viewing/editing,and i gotta say it really is a strong monitor.It feels quality when you rotate from landscape to portrait with a solid bracket system on the rear,& im constantly blown away by it`s colour rendition & clarity of image! Glad Benq are still producing it for such amazing value,buy people!

Hi. I don’t have the old version. I believe Ben’s discontinued this version. To be honest I stop using the Display Pilot long time ago. I prefer using the monitor menu.

Здравейте г-н Петров. Имам няколко въпроса. Същата схема за осветление може ли да се ползва и за по големи продукти като столове, канапета или детски колички, ниска мебел и тн? Съответно два моноблока за фон и един съответно на жираф за остление от горе. В случая при вас продукта може директно да се качи в съответния магазин за продажба. Но ако е да кажем черен и се налага да се смени фона с друг цвят тогава ще стане твърде светъл ръб и за да не се отделя много време за ретуш предполагам ще е добре да се отсече по време на снимките с черен флат борд. Относно обективите смятате ли че 50mm 1.4 Art на Sigma ще ми даде на затворена бленда f8 - f13 нещо повече от Nikon 50mm 1.8G качени на Nikon D850? Благодаря. Хубав ден.

Здрасти. Същата схема ще работи с големи продукти но аз бих използвал голям хартиен фон или бял платнен. Също е добре да използваш две осветителни тела отгоре със малък ъгъл да покрият цялата композиция. Може да използваш червен борд но също пробвай първо със поларайзед филтър (Circular Polarizing Filter) да помогне със рефлектиране на светлината. За обектива не съм сигурен. Не съм ползвал Никон но имам опит със Сигма и те са добри. Аз бих използвал 90мм или 100мм макро ако снимам по големи продукти но зависи колко е голямо студиото. За малко пространство 50мм 1.4 ще е по добре.

If you connect the monitor via USB to your computer you can use the 2 x USB outputs to connect an era and Bluetooth dongle. This is how I use it in mine.

Great to hear! Unfortunately, the 2017 software is gone, but the new one is up to date, I believe. I've stopped using it anyway. The monitor menu has enough options to set it up. I use two of them. One is sRGB for photo editing, and the second is on video settings for video editing. Perfect combo.

Try to look for a paper backdrop. I know it is not ideal because you can't clean it, but it is a good start. Also, check companies offering vinyl. You may find something and use it as a backdrop.

Thanks mate, I have the same monitor but I'm unable to find an option to switch to Rec.709 2.2 mode. (I'm aware of the sRGB and Rec.709 having the same colour gamut but not gamma) Any suggestions?

You can't make the switch to Rec.709.2.2 The only option available is sRGB. Not sure if a monitor calibrating software could help, but again this is an extra cost.

I just threw my three in a dryer for 15 minutes and they came out perfect. They will have creases if you just take them out of the package and try to hang them. Just throw them in a dryer for 15 minutes and when you take him out they'll be perfect.

I have had this monitor for a few years now and although I have upgraded my main photographic monitor for a Benq SW270 I still love the BL2420PT for everyday use. So much so I have just ordered a second refurbished and guaranteed one off ebay. They really are good value for money and make great monitors which are really easy on the eyes when spending hours in front of the screen. Hope you are still enjoying your new monitor as much as I do?

I ended up buying a Macbook pro, I think that this method (mac mini) can be useful when is for a short time, but for serious travelers, I think a laptop is a better option.

I think they have scrapped the old version. I don't have any links, but I stop using the software myself. Running on two monitors now and only use the menu on the screen.

I have had this monitor for a few years now and although I have upgraded my main photographic monitor for a Benq SW270 I still love the BL2420PT for everyday use. So much so I have just ordered a second refurbished and guaranteed one off ebay. They really are good value for money and make great monitors which are really easy on the eyes when spending hours in front of the screen. Hope you are still enjoying your new monitor as much as I do?

I always shot RAW but deliver JPG to clients. If they want the RAW it will cost them far too much.

Thank you, this is helpful, I am also an mac mini user, I use it at home but because I also wanna travel, your idea about that portable monitor sounds good because I don't wanna spend $2k for a laptop as you said, to just throw it somewhere in my room.

I ended up buying a Macbook pro, I think that this method (mac mini) can be useful when is for a short time, but for serious travelers, I think a laptop is a better option.

The camera is a pile of crap my GoPro Hero 3 plus is better and that's 7 years old 4K is terrible..

There is only the 2020 software version online (benq website).... do you know any alternative link to the version of 2017?
I think they have scrapped the old version. I don't have any links, but I stop using the software myself. Running on two monitors now and only use the menu on the screen.
