    What heightand the lenght of the wood pieces?

  • @AlansWoodworking
    @AlansWoodworking9 күн бұрын

    Sorry for the late reply. There are 4 horizontal sections each 75cm long, 4 upright pieces 88cm long and the folding cross brace is 2 pieces each 24cm long. The timber is 90mm by 20mm and the hinges are 90mm wide

    The design puts all of the stress vectors through the hinge. Think about it!

    right im not the brightest lamp in the class , can we concur the tightening is created by the clamp pushing the wedges inwards and thats it ? and does it have enough force for glue ups

  • @AlansWoodworking
    @AlansWoodworking4 ай бұрын

    Hi. The wedges can create more than enough pressure for glue ups, especially if you give them a bit of a tap with a hammer.

    Where did you get the tool used to round over the edges? I really like the pull action of it.

  • @AlansWoodworking
    @AlansWoodworking4 ай бұрын

    Hi Mike. The tool is the Veritas Corner Tool. I bought mine in australia years ago, but I guess you could get them online these days. They're not cheap and they have limitations (can't use them against the grain) but they're a lot faster and convenient than using a router in a lot of cases. Have fun, Alan

    I watched this a few weeks ago and for whatever reason, YT thought I should watch it again. And I will when I get the time to implement it with some size modifications. It would work great to hold chisels and a smaller one mounted on the inside of a kitchen cabinet would be great for knives. If you are concerned about the wooden cylinders holding, cut them 1/8"-1/4" smaller in diameter and spray with liquid rubber.

    Genius! I wonder if this same horse could be done from 2x4s? I got eight spare 2x4s in the shed and would love to try... My cheap plastic saw horses are way too wobbly.
