Solution for the impracticality problem you mentioned: Buy adapter for EVERY lens and just keep them on there, add a little piece of tape to prevent accidental level changing. Sounds expensive but it's still more affordable than a proper single dedicated anamorphic lens by far. And you get to keep the modularity

bought one on prime day and I kind of hate it. the space bar is beyond saving, i've tried everything. guess you can't expect too much from a budget board though, that's on me.

I don't het the OVF halte. It's a great feature but you do have to know how to shoot the xpro. If you stick to the screen, that will never happen.

Bought one about a week ago (needed a small keyboard for my wheel stand). Love it. It weighs a ton but that keeps it planted. Love typing on it. And great for games too.

I have the MC version of that 40mm and love love love it. Bought it for my M3 and use it on my X-T10 as well. This may be a good option if it has the 40mm frame lines.

I picked up an XPro-1 for $600 a couple years back, as my first camera. It's been amazing to use. I'd like to move to an X-H2S eventually, or the X-Pro3 if one comes up. One is the modern implementation of Fuji's technology, and the other is this "analog" experience I can't get enough of.

7 hours late but still first. Also that 50mm on the Venice feels like the inverse of the Sigma 200-500mm on the GM1 that Tom Calton did.

Thanks, really thorough review - I've been considering this or the Sirui 1.25x anamorphic adapters and this has given me the best overview of the Laowa adapter in use. Particularly useful is the impracticality of changing lenses very often. This makes me think that the best use case by far for these adapters are zoom lenses, except for the weight of the rig of course. Whilst I love the look, and I think this is a very well engineered product, I'm now having second thoughts due to the practicality of changing lenses on a shoot... appreciate the insights.

I have the old small Rollei35, but with this you only can guess the distance in focussing. So, I love my Nikon SLR-stuff like F5, but my back tells me, when I took to much gear. The adorable M6 is too expensive-its not just the body, the optics are expensive too. But I will search for this Rollei-looks like fun! You used the cinestill Films-i love them. Greetings from Germany

This is a BAD REVIEW. The adapter has got a MOUNT WITH 2 SCREWS. You are supposed to MOUNT THE ADAPTER TIGHT WITH 2 SCREWS ON TOP OF THE 2 RODS. You messed up, and blamed the adapter

Fair enough on a physical feature I did miss. Though I am highly disappointed by how the "incorrect" installation method, detailed EXACTLY AS IN LAOWA'S OWN INSTALLATION VIDEO negates the rest of the details of build quality, included accessories, image characteristics, flares, etc. Thank you for the comment and engagement
