  In light of recent World cup struggles on penalty shootout with some baffling attempts, I consider this Celtic penalty shootout to be the finest display of penalty taking I've ever seen live. They obviously prepared and we can see that every taker except Derek Riordan, sent a bullet towards the top third of the goal, which is unstoppable by any goalkeeper. Even Nakamura's miss is actually a good effort there, just tried to be too perfect and hit the crossbar. I don't understand why players nowadays lower their odds by going for a low one, on the side, as if the goalkeeper choses the right side, it's going to be a stop. I heard a theory that players don't want the humiliation of having the 1 out of 10 of them shooting for the stars and that if they got one stopped, it was "at least due to the goalkeeper", which should be nonsense. No goalkeeper ever jumps towards a corner on those. Gary Caldwell's, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's and Maciej Żurawski's penalties are utterly unstoppable.

  Lubiłem oglądać Celtic za czasów Gordona Strachana na ławce, Boruca w bramce i Żurawskiego w ataku. A najbardziej lubiłem derby z Rangersami. Mecze były zacięte, nikt nie odpuszczał, no i te prowokacje Boruca! Kibice Rangersów, by go chyba rozszarpali? 😁😁😁
