    before you pull steering wheel remove the nut then spray brake cleaner on rag wrap around the shaft cover that with a spray can cap add brake cleaner several times.Should be able to woble the wheel by hand.

    👍👍 My parents post digger didn't have a hole in the case casting like your's. So my dad welded a short piece of heavy wall 1-1/4" pipe to the side (where you put the horseshoe, above the auger). Then we would stick an old railroad spike bar in the pipe. Dad would remain on the tractor, to operate the up/down action to clean out the loose dirt, while I would pull down on the bar. Always had to be super careful, so I wouldn't get caught by the auger!!! If we hit a rock, or if it hadn't rained for a while and the ground was quite hard, then Dad would get off the tractor and help me. (This was half-century ago.)

    How do you bleed 7840 tractor hydraulic steering wheels system

    That was not a Speedi Sleeve, Speedi Sleeves are not split. That looked more like the sleeve driver. Speedi Sleeves actually work really well when installed properly. Also, there is another seal at the top of the steering shaft that helps keep water out of the tube.

    Exactly, in fact it looks like a speedy sleeve is on the shaft but down too far.

    When replacing the seal which direction does it go? Does the spring side go toward the fluid?

  • @corbinsherrell940
    @corbinsherrell9404 жыл бұрын

    The lip faces fluid. If you think of a side cutaway view, the pressure will build on one side of it because it wedges itself tighter. If you were to put pressure or fluid on the other side it would just kind of open and push fluid out. This is a good mechanical rule to think about anytime a seal is involved. Some don't matter. Some do. This analysis will always remember assure you. I've put things together "as it came apart" but the older stuff the last guy could have put in wrong. On a hydraulic piston there are lipped seals, several facing both ways because fluid on both sides. To answer your question: down. This particular seal and set up the fluid is below the seal. Thus the top side (smooth and flat side of seal) is up. That side should stay dry

    The spring side is always the "wet" side
