I was a Sikh myself who has been shaving of my long kesh from the front for the past 2 years, leaving everything at the back, my hair was far below the joints and the back portion still remain intact. I have accepted Sri Vaishnavaism, because it is one of the oldest and also profound depictions of Advaitic Vedanta to me. Also, the fact that it was far less conservative and uninfluenced from other cultures, unlike Sikh religion (which is heavily middle-eastern influence). I wished to connect with the original culture/roots of India, as our ancestors had been Hindus only majorly. Despite embracing Hinduism, i havent left Sikhism as i still visit Gurudwaras, organize kirtan and satsangs (majorly Sikh, but also Hindu) and monthly readings of Guru Granth Sahib. I do have my wife and 2 sons who are 24 (Fateh) and 16 (Harshpreet) respectively, they have the freedom of religion and i dont force Hinduism on them at all. My wife and second son still follow Sikhism, while the 1st one chose to embrace my new faith and shave his head accordingly, i would say he is even more devoted than me and has organized many Punjabi Hindu and Sikh devotees of Sri Narayan, but he only undertakes the interested Hindu and some Muslim Punjabis and Haryanvis to take deeksha, according to him, Hindu/Muslim punjabis connect with their root, but Sikh Punjabis are already Vedantists due to Guru Nanak sahabji. But now i feel, if he wishes to return to return to Sikhism, then he is totally welcome and i would never disown him. But we are proud Hindus today.

You are right, "stolen land, blood on the land". Sadly, Terrace, B.C. is a very racist community. I have relatives there, they are on the receiving end of racist comments, discrimination and disrespect. But they also been on the receiving end of kindness, respect and understanding of the history of natives. Sorry to hear, when you are a visible minority, you can and will be targeted. Sadly nowhere near Truth and Reconciliation.

Yes!!! We “stole” this land fair and square and made it ours. If you think the natives in this area and others were a peaceful people before our arrival, think again. If things were the same here as it was before us “white people” you for sure would not even be here. We are all simply human beings, nothing less and certainly nothing more.

Try this a different style. I believe the title of the video is ‘turban for sports and games’ (or something similar) by a1 turban training centre. It’s similar to a dumalla and you could prolly use the dumalla base for it.

Hey bro, jhatka is fine to eat, eggs are fine, we need to be strong and the protein helps, the guru’s soldiers ate jhatka, we didn’t fight against 1.8 million on dal. Don’t get me wrong, I respect your choice to be veg. In our western countries, we must be quite careful about meat origin, avoiding inhumane ‘halal’ foods. Sidenote: be careful of meat derived gelatin.

Its never about impressing the opposite gender. It spans to all areas of life, be it professionalism, getting accepted as equal parts of the society, not having to self isolate yourself and certainly not having to explain your identity to every single person. i live with it so I know. My youth years and possibly the best years of my life went away (not solely due to uncut hair though but they were a huge and catalysing factor) just because of me looking different, I wish it doesn't happen with others. You only live once and you should be allowed to live on your terms, even if it seems objectionable to even a huge chunk of the people of your community. I sadly cannot do anything about it, but those who can please don't feel guilty about this. You want people to judge you on the basis of your potential and not your appearance I mean.
