    Maybe they don't have the gravitas that goats do with weird eyes and long beards they seem to be more childlike and most people probably don't associate children with intelligence that's my two cents

The video after this provides scientific evidence of sheep intelligence and the one after that puts forward an idea why they are often considered stupid. A beautiful video showing the uniqueness of every creature. Amazing how many consider cats and dogs to be so individual, but cannot conceive of cattle, ruminants or wild animals to have their own personalities. My friend even had a pet scorpion which favoured a particular rock to sit on, even when moved around it's habitat.

  • @callingthelambs3870
    @callingthelambs3870 Жыл бұрын

    I think you are onto something. Many farmers have large flocks in large paddocks and they never form relationships with their sheep. They drive them rather than lead them. It is when you have a small flock that you can develop a relationship with them and observe their behaviour. Then the many biblical references come to life.

    Thanks for your beautiful video and message. Years ago I spent a year living on a farm and the shepherd gave me an orphaned lamb to feed and take care of. I loved her and named her Floss. She was with me for a couple of months. She and a baby goat and my dog and two cats would walk on the farm together every day. We were quite an entourage . Then the farmer took Floss and the goat away and put them with their flocks. About 8 months later I was walking my dog, and the two cats on the farm and there was a flock of sheep a whole paddock away on a slopping hill. They were all grazing except for one sheep which had her head up and she kept staring at me . “Is that you Floss “? I called out …well she suddenly ran down the hill towards me bleating loudly and tried to get through the fence to get at me. Needless to say I let her out, and she followed me back home . This was months afterwards that I hadn’t seen her and she knew me from a large distance away . I was able to enjoy her for a few days before the farmer took her off me again. Sheep are not stupid they know their masters !

    Cool, thanks! I like that idea of the sheep staying together in unity, in a flock. Makes me think of how The Church Of God is made up of families. Each family is a flock. Each flock needs a pastor - the dad/husband. Take care.

    Interesting point. With our sheep we have observed that they have flocks within flocks. When they go out to pasture they often break up into smaller flocks. Each smaller flock consists of the same sheep. They form friendships with each other.

    The Sacrificial Lamb was Christ which meant no more sacrifices but following of the Lord and be Baptized into his death to wash away original sin then nurture that child in the Christian way to adulthood in the Church and partake of his body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
