  I love this Flag Song since I first heard it as sung by Northern Cree at Black Eagle Powwow while viewing youtube. They do such a good rendition. I'm glad to know the song origin. Thank you NativeBrotha for letting us know this knowledge.

  The three ladies that are dancing it correctly are # 341 in the dark blue with rainbow colors, the lady in the light green shawl in the middle with rainbow colors, and the lady in the tan shawl at the beginning. Not too many know how...Lessons learned.

  This flag song is in the Pequot language and was written by Kenny Merrick Jr. for the Mashantucket Pequot nation and was originally sung by his group Mystic River. My drum group Urban Thunder was gifted this song by Kenny as well, and we have had the honor of singing it in his presence. It is a beautiful song and it is an honor to be able to sing it. I'm lucky I've had the pleasure of being able to sit at drums with some of the best singers here on the east coast. Unfortunately a lot of people, both Native and non Native alike, think we don't exist out here in the east but we are still here! We are here and we are proud.
