Hi do you know what this route is called on AllTrails?
@@thegreenco7896 Hi, just to the cave is called elephants eye hiking trail if I am correct
@@garnettsnymanokay thank you! I want to do the 13 peaks challenge so one of the peaks is constanicaberg, so I did Elephants Eye cave a couple of months ago- so is that the peak the mean? 😅 ie can i check Constanicaberg off the list? 😂
@@thegreenco7896 Hi, oh sorry no its only part of the way to constantiaberg, here is the link to all trails: Noordhoek Peak, Sentinel, Constantiaberg and Elephant's Eye on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/south-africa/western-cape/noordhoek-peak-sentinel-constantiaberg-and-elephant-s-eye?sh=nqpey2

Thank you so much for your tips🙂
@@dominikabobula4717 It’s a pleasure, you can also find me on alltrails app, if you need more info.
Ok everything is clear. I appreciate for your answer. One more question: are there any entrance fee to National Park with hiking routes in Cape Town? I am asking because in my country sometimes you need to buy on-line ticket on website to National Parks. And what about other hikes like Lion's Head - do you need a map to follow the trails or there is only one that takes you straight to summit? This is completely unknown land to me, I live far away but I would like to arrive their next summer🙂. I saw on movie as well that Table Mountain is a bit demanding route escpecialy near summit - I mean chains& ladders. So propably you need a harness for your secure, I am wandering what is your opinion about it? Any tip you would like to share it?😊
@@dominikabobula4717 Hi, so all hikes up Table Mountain is obviously challenging because of the incline, but ive found only 3 of the 13 peaks to be risky, lions head has two/three small chain ladders but there is a route to avoid 1 of them, and by far lions head is the easiest to navigate. There is no fee involved on table mountain for about 80% of the hikes, the ones you pay for is silvermine nature reserve, chapmans peak and kirstenbosch gardens if you decide to park there. I hope this helps
I have one more guestions. What about a hiking trails in Cape Town: are they well described, I mean are there any crypto signs on the way to summit that you do not get lost? Can you hike alone without any mountain guide? Or for first time it is better to book a trip if you are not familiar with neighboorhood? What kind of digital map did you use during your mountain adventure? Is it safe to walk there in group of 2-3 people? I will appreciate for your answer. The views are marvelous 😊
Hi, you can definitely do it with a friend or two, don’t need a guide and this actually one of those hikes that you don’t really need a map because you just go on the route that goes up to devils peak. However the marking isn’t to great but you can always screenshot the route on all trails that is what I did 😁. It is also fairly popular which means there will be others to join you, just follow them.
Thank you for sharing with us your tips&memories from a hike
It’s a pleasure 💪
U should some KZN hikes....waterfalls etc
That is definitely the plan in the future 💪
Hi Garnet, what time of year did you do the trail?
Hi Riaan, we went over the long weekend in April
this great vid is proof that the cape is not part of south africa. those wrecks would be gone in a day or two in gauteng.
😂 not sure what they would want to take from these wrecks
Lovely video. So is the trip 4 hours to grabouw ?
Hi, it’s about almost 3 hours to Grabouw, using the train. Thank you for the support.
Enjoyed excellent vacations in Cape Town from 1985 to 1997. Winelands area, brilliant plus Cape Peninsula tours fantastic. I used to stay at Arthur's Seat Hotel, brilliant food and Service, plus Cape Sun hotel, excellent! 🇬🇧
Amazing, ever thought of coming back, Im sure you will be surprised at how developed the area have become 😁
I was born in Woodstock and We, as kids, used to "run up to the cave" many a Saturday 👍😄💪
This place is so special, im sure those are some of the best memories, I still daydream about that view sometimes 😂
Thank you for this. Quick questions: Can we expect to see some wildlife? Is there safe parking for cars? And if the zip lining is included on the price?
Hi, the zipline is separate and the parking was safe, we didn’t see any wildlife but im sure there are some.
Looking very forward to our train trip. 😁
Still one of my most favorite memories, enjoy 😁
Awesome views, thx for sharing.
Worth every drop of sweet 💪
Thx man ❤ We wanna do this hike during our upcoming trip.
It’s amazing, enjoy 😁
Shoutout. Your comment on the all trails on the kings kloof hike
Hi, I haven’t personally done that one, my family has done it and really enjoyed it. That is about all that I can say 😁

@@DianaOcean enjoy, it is breathtaking 💪😁
This is beautiful. Are the routes clearly marked? And do you think it’s safe for a single hiker
Hi, the routes were very well marked and definitely one of the best hikes around Gauteng but I dont know how safe it will be alone seeing that the cliff is quite steep and some spots could be risky alone.
I did it solo today. I was ok. Best to do it on a weekend, then there are other people around and you are not totally on your own.
@@henniederuyter6848 Thank you Hennie 🙏

Beautiful place! I hope one day you visit Angel's fall, in Venezuela. You're going to be amazed 😅
It looks amazing, and it’s definitely on my bucket list, thanks for the comment 😁
Wowee ! Garnet i always hit the like button before i even see your vids. As you know i lived in Cape Town, but never went to Mosselbai. Have you found those white-barked slim trees with spreading ground roots, deep in Newlands Forest yet ? They were magical, covered in bright green moss. Or maybe they've been removed or died out ? 🌱🤔
I recall seeing one of those in some random cave on the mountain, was very unique experience
Dogs allowed?
Hi Joleen, I am not sure, the best would be to phone adventure cullinan.
May I recommend an original song written about the mountain wilderness ? DON'T GO UP TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP WITHOUT ME (C)2006 from james monahan original songs.
Hi James, ill definitely have a listen and might even use it in one of my future hike videos 😁
How's the difficulty?
This one to elephants eyes was not too bad but if you go to constantia berg it is tough and overgrown 😁.
Wow the dolphin is so pretty!! i loveee dolphins 🥰
It was magical, felt like a movie scene 😂
Gorgeous ❤
brother this makes me so happy to see someone recorded such an amazing journey up there i did it when i was 12 with my Voortrekkers group , i live in New Zealand now for a long time and this brought back so many memories, by any chance was there a old military hut up there near the water fall still ?
Hi, thanks for the great comment and yes that hut is still there, obviously very outdated. It will definitely be one of my fondest memories 😁
Wow, i wonder wĥich was your favourite wine Garnett ? Loved the mountains in the background. Cheers ! 🥂🌱

Hi Garnett. Thank you for posting- is the gate always open ? I am scared that I finish the hike and then get to the gate and it’s closed 😮
To be honest, I am not sure what the operating times are but there is a gate buzzer that you call and they open the door 😁.
Cool content 👌🏾
Thank you, nature does all the work 😁
This was such a nostalgia trip for me! No mtns in London...
Definitely don’t know what I would do without mountains close by 😁
What were you thinking ..... was it that KZN is the greatest!
It was one of those bucket list experiences I just wanted to try 😁
Garnett your videos are another level. Watching this in 2023, october. The music blends beautifully. And i like your brief stops to talk to us. Just marvelous, thank you. I miss the Cape always, but never ventured much farther out. Blessings. 👌🩵🌱💙
Thank you, this was one of those bucket list ones and so glad I did it. Will always remember this hike. Hopefully I will get back into the hike soon 😁
Great job valuing your life. It can get windy in Cape Town
It’s definitely scary up there, but was lucky with not too bad weather
Cape Town’s hikes are unreal
Crazy beautiful
Great video! 1:38, I remember hiking to the Constantiaberg mast in the early 2000s, before the devastating fires.
Definitely a tough hike all the way too the top 😳, wish we had a better view
