Herbivores don't need meat to be healthy because they can't digest it. Omnivores, like humans, do. ❤

If you actually intended to save them they would have entered the pet trade across six continents 10 years ago. They would have been part of the motley crew of invasive species in Florida by now with zero chance of extinction across geologic time.

Love the old Reptile house but I reckon it's due for a proper upgrade/rebuild . It's over 50 yrs old! Some of the display enclosures, which were cutting edge in the 70's , seem too cramped for the larger species. Especially active ones. Hopefully the Zoo will get some funding in the next few years to make a reptile house worthy of the 21st century. Seeing all the incredible work they've done for endangered species, it really be deserved.

This is why front or back carriers are fantastic. My daughter was exactly this way. For a looonnnggg time. She just wanted to cling to me, to join me in whatever I was doing. She could walk perfectly well on her own. But she liked both the physical closeness and being able to join me as I went around doing things. So out doing errands, or working in the garden or inside the house, I learned that she wanted to be strapped to me. It was lovely. When I had her in a (really good and lightweight) back carrier, she'd often lean over one of my shoulders and nuzzle me or kiss me. Or she'd put both little, sweet smelling arms around my neck and rest her chin atop my head and "converse" with the world going by. If there were a koala in my life...I'd want to hug and snuggle as much as possible. Though I don't suppose the keepers are able to take a koala home so they can sleep together. No matter how much everyone longs to.

Loved it! Question : you said in the Orange bellied parrot aviary that there are 8 birds, but then proceeded to show footage of 10 birds. How many do you have?
