Awesome episode. I love disaster movies. "The Quake" is a sequel to "The Wave" and it´s as good as thee first one, I highly recommend! 😉
Thanks! I'll have to check it out!
Disaster movies: 1. Armageddon 2. Daylight 3. Twister 4. Dantes Peak 5. Hellfighters 6. Outbreak 7. Deep Impact 8. Deepwater Horizon 9. Contagion 10. Greenland Honorables: -Both are so bad they're good. Don't look up Moonfall -Love The Birds, as a six year old I was traumatized. -I still need to see The Impossible and Only the Brave.
Good picks! Thanks for sharing!
Horizon Chapter One is magnificent. It and the following chapters will be recognized as masterpiece, must-see movies. I for one don’t give a damn what the critics think; they typically give low ratings to movies audiences love.
Glad you liked it!
I hope more people go to see Horizon while it's in theaters. It's a great, ambitious movie. We should be supporting Costners love for Westerns and his love for the movie-going experience. And we should be supporting movie theaters or theyre going to go the way of the dinosaurs
That's right! Movies like this are getting rare. It seems as if most movies are sequels, prequels, reboots, or remakes.
Great collection! Love that TMNT pizza set 12:00 I have one also👍👍
Cool! It's one of the best in my collection.
Im looking forward to seeing this next week
I think you'll enjoy it!
Just picked up this today. I think upscaled on a 4k projector they will look great 👍
Nice!
This movie has all the ingredients to be a box office hit. Perfect cast, awesome soundtrack, and great action. The only thing that I would say would stop it from being a box office hit is Deadpool & Wolverine which is coming out literally next week meaning Twisters is most likely going to drop and D&W is going to dominate next week and most likely dominate the weeks after as well. They should've released Twisters on the 4th of July weekend. Not only it would've a better fit there but it also would've gave it at least 3 weeks to rank in some money before D&W but other than that little worry this was perfect Summer popcorn flick.
Great points! I hope it has a great opening weekend.
I love your local theater! How many screens does it have?
We have 8 state of the art , studio quality auditoriums
Love the Christmas in July toy drive!
Excellent stuff!!
Racing Stripes is definitely a hidden gem
I need to see it.
@@thereelworldpodcast Yes, it was one of my childhood favorites
Hidden gem movies: 1. Seven Days in May 2. The Good Old Boys 3. What's up Doc? 4. Dave 5. Medicine Man 6. The Train 7. Frequency 8. The Faculty 9. Jet Pilot (1957) 10. Guarding Tess 11. The Lost Battalion 12. Running Scared 13. Inner Space 14. Renaissance Man 15. Space Cowboys 16. Sneakers 17. Lucky number Slevin 18. Always 19. Midnight Run 20. The Paper -Will Penny, Hidalgo, 16 Blocks, Mr. Smith, Sky High, and Sinbad are excellent picks. -Dragonslayer is more of a bad movie that you love than a hidden gem, imo. -I give the slight edge to Kamerons list. -Keep it up gentlemen.
I need to see some of yours. Thanks for sharing!
@@thereelworldpodcast I know you've seen Space Cowboys and The Train. I would watch Seven days, Dave and Inner Space. Then move on to Good Old Boys, Medicine Man and Guarding Tess, just a suggestion.
Love it!
Love the show super awesome I hope for more seasons
I decided to go back to my local Dollar General recently and I found some great stuff on dvd and bluray. I'm glad they continue to carry stuff like that, especially since my local Dollar Tree does not carry dvds anymore.
That's great!
Loved the editing of this!!
Thank you!
Steve Carrell movies: 5. Despicable Me 4. Horton hears a Who 3. The big Short 2. Dan in real life 1. Get Smart Honorables: Evan Almighty Date Night -Watched Dan in real life last night, the whole family had fun, the best movie I had never heard of that I've seen since Wind River.
Great list! Glad everyone enjoyed Dan in Real Life. It's certainly underrated.
I thought it was ok , I will watch part 2
I'm glad you saw it! I hope Chapter 2 gets a new release date soon. They pulled it from the original August date.
Fear & Loathing has grown on me thru the years. Everyone loves Brazil but it’s just never clicked for me. I remember seeing Lone Star in theaters when it came out. Haven’t seen it since but my memory is I liked it. Cool stuff dudes.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
Great to see you both out and about. I enjoyed the video. It looked like a small section to choose from, but at least they had a variety of titles.
Thanks! It was fun!
Fear and Loathing is very funny! Do some research on the book and Hunter S. Thompson as well, it will make a few things make more sense 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome video! Lone Star is really good and I picked up Pat Garrett as well and will watch this weekend. Still deciding if I want to get Fear and Loathing. Enjoy those pickups!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to watching both.
Alien Invasion movies: 1. Close Encounters of the third kind. 2. Battle Los Angeles (this might be the most well rounded as far as characters, drama, civilian/military interaction, entertainment and realism, very underrated imo). 3. The Thing 4. Edge of Tomorrow 5. Galaxy Quest 6. War of the Worlds 7. Monsters VS Aliens 8. Mars attacks 9. Oblivion 10. Invasion of the body snatchers (1978) 11. Alien Nation 12. Predator 13. Super 8 14. The Tomorrow War 15. Battleship (guilty pleasure) 16. The Vast of Night 17. Independence Day (guilty pleasure) 18. A Quiet Place 19. They Live 20. Arrival - Starship troopers is for Robert A. Heinlein fans and those who have read the book a huge disappointment, (if it were to be remade by someone respectful of the book then we would easily have a top five alien invasion movie). - Pacific Rim is for multiple reasons not good (today we are canceling the apocalypse, logical thought, access to conventional military munitions, etc). Also I don't think it's alien invasion movie, imo. -Love the draft format, excellent podcast gentlemen, keep it up.
Thanks for sharing your list! I need to watch Alien Nation.
I like these new videos, this was enjoyable, although it’s a pity what a small selection they have now.
This reviewer's review was absolutely perfect!!! I felt identical, but even moreso. This HORIZON film is epic in every way. There's no way to make this film better. Horizon is a masterpiece and may acquire that recognition over time. Where are the haters coming from??? Not sure. This film will force heavy emotions out of you. Powerful stuff here. The 3hr runtime is totally justified and worth every minute. Sneak a big bag of plain beef jerky in with you, grab a big water at the concession stand, hit the washroom, then saddle up for the best western ever put on film! Absolutely amazing effort from Costner here. Super stoked about Chapter 2. It would be devastating if Chapter 3 & 4 don't come to fruition due to funding restraints. Hoping it'll all work out. We must have all 4 Chapters!!! Don't listen to the negative reviews, this movie is absolutely phenomenal!
So glad you enjoyed it! The more I think about it, the more I like it. I want to go see it again. I'll definitely pick it up on 4K Blu-ray when it's available. I heard Costner is shooting Chapter 3 right now, so I have no doubt we'll get all Four Chapters, but we need to get the word out to make sure Chapter 2 does better at the box office next month.
@thereelworldpodcast Dude... I've posted at least 20 reviews on every KZread review of this movie. I realize I can't force people to like it as much as I did. Costner dumped 38 to 50 million of his own cash into creating this Saga, as you know, and he wouldn't do so if this wasn't being done correctly. I judged every scene of this movie...and every shot was awesome! I looked for a disappointing segment and found none. Even the opening scene was thought-provoking, as the settler guy pounded that red-tipped house marker stake directly into a colony of outraged fire ants, throwing their whole organized hive into chaos and upheaval without disregard for their home environment. This action of insensitive natural destruction upon the ants may have heavily contributed to the deaths of the two settlers. Then, the shot of the tiny feeding bugs on the man corpse...I said..."look at this attention to detail here"! I was sold immediately into the next 2 hours and 59 minutes. Nothing disappointed me, but rather I was continually shocked by the time-travel realism of this early American period piece. So much attention to the little details in costume, landscape choices, color, sound, story, hardware and carriages, the brutality of the clashing settlers/Natives, the gunfire, the suicide blast in the tent, the underground breathing nightmare of the trapped two females, and the villian team that's now closing in on the Costner character. Even the window glass was wavy and period-correct. I could go on, but I did love this work! Super stoked Chapter 2 is here in August, incredible! Awesome to here Chapter 3 is happening now; was unaware of that. I went to the theater alone on this, biggest screen, best sound and leather recliner seating. My attention was undivided! A phenomenal film! I'm glad your excitement matched my own. Cheers, brother!
I agree with your every word. Horizon is magnificent!
Loved it!
That's great!
I love western movies. The movie sucked i just saw it. It was boring just talking and talking. There's like 3 parts i liked in the beginning, the part where hes going to look for the girl and there's a gun fight and the ending but too much talking. I don't mind when they a lot but it was just boring talking
Disappointed you didn't enjoy it as much as I did, but I'm glad you went to see it. It's one of my top two favorite films of the year. This is not an action movie, so I can see why you'd be let down if you thought that's what it was going to be. It's more of a mature drama focused on these characters and their struggles living in the American west during the 1860s. We don't get many films like this anymore, most of the movies in theaters are just silly, computer-generated fantasy films.
I just watched it now I just couldn't believe how amazing it was
I love horizon Chapter 1 cant wait for Chapters 2, 3 and 4 its gonna be awesome i dont care what stupid lazy people think i love it n can't wait for more thanks Kevin Costner.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Those big crowds outside the theater help explain that masssive $11 million opening weekend.
Some of the best movies made no money, some of the worst made tons. Box office does not equal quality.
@@thereelworldpodcast But there's a reason Kevin Costner hasn't been the Lead actor in a Big movie for 25+ years.
I don't think he wants to be the lead actor in a big movie. He has nothing to prove after having such a successful career over the past 43 years. He's an artist who wants to make the art he wants to make. I'm glad he continues to makes high-quality films no one else will make.
Totally agreed.
I am so glad you enjoyed it too! I am ready to see Chapter 2 next month.
it was fine
It seems as if I enjoyed it more than you did, but I'm glad you went to see it. It seems to me that these types of movies are getting more and more rare, so I like to support them as much as possible.
I saw this movie today. I really liked it. I hope more people see it.
Me too! We need to get the word out to the people who want to see an epic movie made for grown ups.
Greatest film franchises: 1. Star Trek 2. James Bond 3. Star Wars 4. Lord of the Rings 5. Mad Max 6. Back to the Future 7. Indiana Jones 8. Rocky 9. Aliens 10. Mission Impossible Honorables: Die Hard Marvel Lethal Weapon Rambo Planet of the Apes -This list isn't my favorites list, even though some on the list are favorites. This is a combination of age, volume, creativity and world building, if this was just a favorites list it would be significantly different. -Love the draft format, great podcast as usual gentlemen.
Great picks! We'll continue the draft format this week for our Best Alien Invasion Films podcast episode!
Loved the movie as well! Quiet Place > Day One > Part 2 for me so far hehe
Cool! Thanks for sharing your ranking! We'll be discussing them and many other alien invasion movies on the podcast this weekend. Be on the lookout.
Heard great things about this one! Imma have to check it out.
I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Congratulations on 100 Episodes! I’ve been honored to have been apart of this awesome Podcast. My favorite franchise is Star Wars, it’s just the most important to me personally. This was a great episode and list. Here’s to another 100 episodes!
Movie was an utter pile a garbage. I had to apologise to my arse for making it sit through it. Who's paid you for this review?
I wish I got paid for these.
I'd give you a thumbs up but that title shot is super lame. Go against the grain my friend....and your viewers will rise.
Thanks for the tip!

Outliers: Shooter and Vantage Point and Munich and Enemy of the State. If you like Jean Reno in The Professional, check out Ronin, The Big Blue and Le Femme Nikita.
Some great picks in there. I need to see Le Femme Nikita and The Day of the Jackal.
Is the aspect ration not how it was filmed? I didn’t realize?
Cool! I just added Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire on 4K. My review is on the channel now.
Ghost dog: Way of The Samurai, is high on my list of favorite Hitman movies. Lots of these I haven’t seen, I’ll have to brush up on my Hitman movies.
Muppet movies: 6. Muppets from space 5. The Muppets take Manhattan 4. The great Muppet caper 3. The Muppet movie 2. The Muppet Christmas Carol 1. Muppet Treasure Island - One and two are interchangeable, Caine and Curry are just that good, they both play off the non human cast without missing a beat. -I haven't seen The Muppets or Muppets most wanted.
Excellent list!
1. Fury Road 2. Mad Max 2 3. Mad Max 1 4/5 joint last place goes to Furiosa & Beyond Thunderdome
Thank you for letting us know your ranking!
1. Fury Road 2. Road Warrior 3. Furiosa 4. Mad Max 5. Beyond Thunderdome
Thanks for sharing!
Mad Max movies: 4. Fury Road 3. Mad Max 2. Beyond Thunderdome 1. The Road Warrior -I still need to see Furiosa. - The first three are pretty much peerless when it comes to vehicle stunts with no cgi. - The world building in these movies has been borrowed from countless times and not just in other movies, it's literally throughout our culture and in the media.
Good list. It's a difficult franchise to rank for me since all of them are so great.
Mad Max 2.5 via Weird Science kzread.info/dash/bejne/hox3s9eEZsq-dKg.htmlsi=ItP534OpnPFrQo2h
Just tried out the new post-apocalyptic update for Fortnite and am hungry for more of that vibe-so I need to go see this movie! It sounds pretty interesting and unique

The Road Warrior -I still need to see Furiosa. - The first three are pretty much peerless when it comes to vehicle stunts with no cgi. - The world building in these movies has been borrowed from countless times and not just in other movies, it's literally throughout our culture and media. - When it comes to an IP it's quite the unicorn for the same person to be in the same position 45 years later, kudos to George Miller.
