    👍🏼 Very clear and concise (like the oilchanges 😉) video. Ariemann1 ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/pYaXuKmxqsfHkdI.htmlsi=1IGW6bzZxNwKtACT ) from down under suggests "compressing" the fork while having all screws open, whereas you "only" suggest rotating the wheel and then brake. Any thoughts?

  • @EnduroAmerica
    @EnduroAmerica3 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. I haven't watched A1's video. This technique was originally taught to me by an American Dakar racer many years ago. Unless you're compressing and then releasing all tension from the front end, as in the wheel dropping while still being elevated, I'm not sure it will produce the desired affect. Again, I haven't watched his video and am speculating. If I get a chance I'll check it out and report back.

    Hey there. I have the same one. Early 2000s. The original engine was a 97cc. I got the 212cc now. I'm doing some mods for fun. The two fenders can be made/welded into one longer one by laying them together. I replaced the front fender and made a long back one. Came out kinda cool. You can order the bearings for the neck and wheels online, cheap. Same as a skateboard wheel bearing. Different size. Thanks for posting! Cool project!

    Straight away thumbs up dude for mentioning the tuning which is almost never being mentioned about those Chinese motorcycles! Almost all of those companies, have no idea or don't even pay much attention in tuning their motorcycles properly, meaning that while being on a highway with those bikes and trying to keep a steady speed, is truly annoying! They're probably not going to fix this issue, cause they never do, and I doubt they know how to fix it. So massive thumbs up, cause everyone else keeps praising those motorcycles like if they were made by Honda or whatever... Cheers man! 🍻

    Thanks for the comment! I appreciate the input and praise. Just trying to portrait it as well as I personally could. I've been really happy with the bike otherwise. I'll have another video out soon and really my only other complaint is the rim lock and balance issues with the wheels, which again is not that big of an issue. Ride on!

  • @EnduroAmerica
    @EnduroAmerica5 ай бұрын

    Just like any other 450 bike that is dirt oriented, these are not made for having 2 people ride on it. I know the subframe/tank is cabable of carrying a load (luggage etc...)but I would advise against a passenger load as the bike was not designed for this.

    Do you maybe know the original torque of the top yoke nut on steering? Or what torque did you apply?

  • @EnduroAmerica
    @EnduroAmerica5 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. Sorry it took me so long to respond. When torquing the center steering nut you'll need to loosen all of the top triple clamp pinch bolts first. I generally do this center nut by feel rather than a specific torque spec. You can tighten it by hand with a wrench and feel the steering, you obviously don't want any binding from stop to stop so if you feel that it's a tad to tight. I know this isn't very descriptive but I hope this helps.

    I have one that I got last year, tops out at 25 mph while spedo reads 30. Around here, you need to at least keep cars off your rear fender on single lanes- really dangerous, 25 is too slow. Doing research, I just ordered a Dellorto type 13.13 which is reported to increase power and I am changing out the rear pulley to one 85mm with a shorter belt to give a bit more speed. The bikes are solid, quiet and motorcycle like (based on a Piaggio Bravo Vespa), don't ride soft because the heavy rear hub, and difficult to get at the engine. But should live long and reliably. Lots of how to on youtube for Piaggio but mostly in German or Dutch. Mike

    I think that yeah, the part where you pin the throttle to a specific speed has got to be part of the ECU and part of the emissions standards which needed to be set for the bike to be able to be sold in the US etc Think that the engine itself it was thought and tunned for rally racing rather than street, so something has got to be going on there

    My dad bought me my first Solex in 1964, and I've still got it. It's French (not Italian) and you could get it in any color you wanted, just as long as it was black (just like the Model-T). It's a 2-cylce single that originally had a 26 cc displacement (you've got the later, high powered 35 cc). The cap on the fuel tank has an incorporated oil doser and, as mentioned before, you had to pedal it with the engine in the "up" position for a few feet, before dropping it down in order for the rollers to engage the front wheel and start it. You usually had to pedal some more to help it up hills, but other than that, it had no problem keeping up with city traffic.
