Nice shooting! I just got the 457 and also have an Arken 6-24x50 scope on it. I’ve been using Eley ammo…haven’t tried SK yet but have heard that the 457 likes it.
How would you compare the graphite barrel to the aluminum?
Found the Eley Match the best, 623 on completion targets
I think CZ's are head spaced to work better with SK ammo. It would be interesting to try a .002" - .003" bolt shim to see if it shoots the Eley better.
You know that Eley uses the same lubricant on their bullets. One group of fouling shots would have been enough for the whole shoot. I like the wood on that gun. Looks tiger striped
I’m surprised you can hit anything with all that barking ! I love dogs , but continuous barking would drive me mad ! You should have a word with your neighbour…..
Using Target ammo in a hunting .22 LR rifle? Try a Swiss-made Bleiker action and stock for single holes @ fifty metres (not yards). Target ammo is not designed for use in hunting models.
This is the dumbest comment I've read all year.
Is your bolt that stiff to cycle? I stoned all the sharp edges on mine and is smoothed out considerably. I also started out at 10 in lbs and worked my way up. I found my sweet spot was about 18. Also on CZ wood stocks the factory is saying 25. They say up to 35 with Varmint precision trainer and chassis models. What was your initial torque?
Tried a box of this ammo. Shot OK, but I had 11 out of 30 misfires.😢 Retried in two other guns. SAME results. Bad lot I guess.
I shot a block of modeling clay still wrapped in plastic with segmented, put a fist sized cavity in the center.. never really thought of 22lr of self defense.. but after seeing that.. imagine 10rds on target, oof
Not bad at all 👍🇬🇧
New subscriber here! But have been around for a while now... I own a few good CZ rimfires and have owned a Tikka T1X for a while now as well! I agree that many channels appear to "look down their nose" at this fine shooting rifle. Mine will easily keep up with my best CZ rifles if I use the right ammo it likes and that is why I equipped it with an Area 419 30 moa rail and a scope that has 70 internal moa! My T1X serves as a hunting rifle and a target rifle, ready to take on any challenge at the "drop of a hat"! I appreciate your videos and the work that you put into the quality of them! Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate that. I hope to get back on the bench soon. Lots of things to catch up on right after a long hunting season.
Without the flyers it looked like the Contact was holding tighter groups.
If it wasn't for the fliers I experience, CCI Standard Velocity may be some of the best ammo available for the price!❤❤❤
Great video thanks! Man that gun not cycling would drive me crazy.
It was annoying. I traded for another CZ.
Cool video. Several of my guns shoot the norma very well. Along with the sk standard plus
Ever use it in a semi-auto? How did it do?
Yes, 10/22 with a Kidd barrel seems to like it at 50 yards.
@@22waysoutdoors that's good to hear! A good friend of the channel sent an entire brick in hopes it would out perform CCI Standard Velocity in my 597!
Those 457's sure do a fine job!
Fun time miss Betty is get some age on her.
This was my oldest one named Sassy. She is 9 turning 10 in November. Now Betty isn’t far behind. She is 7 turning 8 in September. Sassy really slowed down this season and just couldn’t get after it like she once did.
@@22waysoutdoors well I can relate.
Three years ago Eley would grade Tenex and if a batch failed that high standard it would go into a Eley Match box.If it failed lower than the Match standard it went into a Eley Team box.RWS do the same with their match grade ammunition because it cost too much to dispose of it and it can’t be recycled. However,in the last three years Eley stopped selling Eley Team so guess what box those rounds are going into?
I've been happy with my results from cci standard velocity. I watched your video and ordered 40 boxes of contact.
Dat's kinda poor grouping for a long bbl gun at only 25 yrds w a scope. My Walther GSP Olympic pistol w only 2" bbl grouped 1/2" at 50, yes Fifty yrds w a scope on a bench rest. This pistol is an off hand (one hand) Olympic regulation gun, used for their 25yrds slow fire, rapid fire, n long range (50meters) slow fire. But, even w this capability, it's outdated by Morini version etc. Thus, u can do much much much better w ur long gun at 25 yrds!!! Try fifty yrds or even 100. U can do it!!! And, the gun looks superb!
Great video. Some of your groups were outstanding even for 50 yards. The funny thing was when you were shooting SK LR Match I was thinking exactly what you said in the video when you shot that flyer at six o'clock. You put out a lot of good information showing that some ammo works better than others in your rifle of course. But I think generally speaking, CCI standard velocity may not be a good choice for competitive shooting.
I wholeheartedly agree with your comment, “some ammo works better than others in your rifle”. My T1X absolutely hates the CCI SV. It only manages 1.5-2.5 inch groups at 100 yds. But I have seen the CCI SV shoot so well in other rifles that every once in awhile I’ll pick up a box (different lot #) just to give it a try. Now my 10/22 with its Tac-Sol barrel and KIDD trigger simply loves the CCI SV and if I do my part it will put them into 1 inch clusters at 100 yds all day long. As for my T1X, it will throw SK Rifle Match into little 3/4 inch clusters (sometimes better) almost any day at that distance.
Did I miss what the range is, 50 or 100yrds?
50. It's in the description. I almost missed it too.
Did u use picatiny to mount the scope?
That flat nose is sometimes hard to feed mine is already broke in and eats anything
Did you manage to get the feeding issues sorted? I'm struggling with mine as well. Can you please assist if possible?
Your groups are definitely affected by that magazine issue. That sucks man! Can you call the company and request they fix it?
It was a real pain in the rear. I traded it in for something else.
I found this shoots well at 200 for my barrel not as good as others at 50/100
I guess I missed the notification on this one, but I went to your page and found it. Oh YT can't keep me away. Thanks for the hunt. I sure enjoyed it.
Enjoy these videos. Can you tell me what height rings your using?
The rings on this rifle are the Arken “low” .92 , thanks for watching.
Straight to it without the BS. Great video 👍🏻
Nicely done. You have tested all of the various brands and sub brands that I have used and tested.
4 shots and the barrel got hot !! lol.... No, great video, I watch more and try myself ... Thanks for a great video... 10* below last night, won't be shooting for a few weeks or so, can't wait to get out my 10/22 and CZ457 out...
Good job! 👍
Looks like a good day!!!
I sure had a lot of fun!
Nice shooting! i just put a MTR barrel in my 457 Synthetic, can't wait to try it out! thx for the review...
Outstanding.
Good hunt bud. 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Way better than I expected it to be.
Why isn't raccoon hunting with Mt Curs more prevalent?
@@gracetrumpslawmy guess is that most curs are silent on track and in the competition coon world you would miss out on the “strike” points. Plus just hearing a hound run a coon track at night is more exciting than just hearing a dog fall treed.
Betty is one heck of a dog. I know your proud to have her.Very nice hunt.
What more can a man ask for? A great day in the woods with his 2 best girls & a vest full of squirrels. Usually season ends Feb. 28 in TN but this year its middle of March. Glad we have Public Land to hunt. Take care. 🙏👍🐿
You nailed it Bill! Alabama extended our season opener into March a few years ago. I wish they would bring in later and let it go all the way thru March.
Good hunt
...puppy's enjoying himself...
That's IMPRESSIVE!!!
What line is Betty from?
Tree Knocking Mike is the only name you’d recognize on her paperwork.
My wife said 22 was a miss. Lol
Tree dogs, and GnR....Nice!
"A man is a boy when he is out with his dog" - John Wick (not the movie star)
A lot of truth in that. I had not heard that saying before. Thanks for sharing.
@@22waysoutdoors He was the founder or Wick Outdoor Works who made the Wick coats and wrote the Tree Dog Encyclopedia called Walk with Wick.
Last year, the dogs ran 22 miles, got 1 squirrel, and saw only 2 more. They hit on probably 30+ den trees. That's hunting.
That’s tough man. I had several den trees today. Beats sitting on the couch watching TV though. Stay after’em.
You made a bad day fun. Had to smile but I feel for you it happens. 😥🐿
